As a beginner I found it impressive provided I have no previous references. But I like the ability to practice my lessons in private with my head set pluggined in. I could have purchase a cheaper model, but I figured if I'm going to commit to my music journey may as well get a model I can grow with and not out grow it for a very long, long, long time. I would like to see in the future the models to come with bluetooth already build-in instead of getting the adapter separately. Bluetooth technololy is been with us for a long time now and is already part of almost any smart device out there, but everthing else is good with me. As far as how I use my P-S500, I primarely use it for my piano lessons, make my own music and leasure.

I had the chance to play on the store floor model at Uptown Music in Salem Oregon and fell in love with the look, feel, and sound of this wonderful piano keyboard. When I bought it I learned it had way more fantastic features than I thought it had. The only downside I can think of is the instructions for downloading music takes some brain work and I'm still not sure if I can print out scores of my own music or not. I love playing on this!

I'm happy with the piano. It works well and meets my needs. The only exception is the Bluetooth function. I made a point of choosing a piano with Bluetooth capability, only to find out that you can't use the Bluetooth on this piano to send music to another device. That makes the Bluetooth useless to me.

Easy set up, bought for learning piano. Sounds are awesome. Yamaha quality. Headphone jack. Sleek appearance. Keys feel realistic to an upright piano. Comes with a sustain pedal and music holder. Can't go wrong with Yamaha. Very happy with purchase. Recommend
I was a demonstration at Piano Solutions. I compared it to others and decided the extra features made it worth $2k. I've been using it almost daily for 2 years. I know other Yamaha models do not have the extra features and cost less - and - I am glad I can "grow into those."
I have been enjoying this keyboard. It has a great mount of backing tracks with many instrument playing in them and you can adjust the tempo to what you want. I find this a great practice tool. I also like having the light guide to use while learning new songs which the piano with the smart pianist app provides plenty to choose from. The smart pianist app is a great tool but I would have liked to be able to import my digital (PDF) sheet music into this app.
We love that this keyboard has fully weighted keys. This allows for proper muscle memory to be formed so that we can easily go back and forth between the keyboard and a full size piano. It's almost like having a full size piano without having to worry about space and size, and it can be carried around relatively easy. Since it has a built in metronome, it also reduces the amount of peripheral equipment required. Would 100% recommend to anyone starting out or looking to get a new keyboard.
When I purchased the P-S500, I assumed the Stream Lights were a gimmick. It turns out that I use them for everything -- playing is way, way more fun and I'm getting better faster. I am so glad I got a piano with Stream Lights. Tip: there are 16 Midi channels, so you can change the parts you play using the Stream Lights. I wish (1) there was better and more detailed documentation of all the features available; and (2) I wish that you could assign different voices to the Treble Clef (the score for the right hand) and Bass Clef (the score for the left hand).
When you are ready to play, it doesn't get in your way. It's inventively uncomplicated while at the same time offers very complex configuration options. Its capable and has a deep, rich sound you'd expect from Yamaha. Playing on it is a joy: it is very, very much like playing an acoustic piano. Advanced features are nice. I may never use them. But I'm happy to know they are there.
The P-225 is precisely what I wanted and performs as advertised. The digital piano has a few bells and whistles, which as a old guy learning piano for the first time are all I need and want.Key action is good, sound is great, options are fun and work. I am completely satisfied with my Yamaha P-225.
