If you're looking for a sys. that will give you a wow factor to your home entertainment, this one will certainly give you just that. Since setting up this Yamaha SR B40A in my living room, I'm putting the Bose 600 in a bedroom. Simply put, it's a Wow factor. I LOVE IT! FYI: "Make Sure" to install the correct model # for the app from Yamaha's site as this unit does not interchange w/ one another. After tweaking the sound adjustment I love it even more. Blue-tooth music sounds better in the game mode sound!

I purchased this soundbar with the optional surround speakers. I wanted a system to improve tv audio, which it certainly does. I also wanted a system to listen to music in spatial audio, with surround sound. It is installed in a smaller room, and the clarity is astounding. There is deep bass from the subwoofer without being muddy, and overall the sound is clean and spacious. One thing that is lacking is there are no equalizer controls for any part of the system. The surround speakers and the subwoofer have their own volume controls, but beyond that you get what Yamaha has determined what the EQ should be. Depending on the source of the music, it can either be great, or less than desired. Overall I am pleased with this purchase, it serves my needs.

Sounds great but I can not get it to connect with my TV through the HDMI ARC. I have checked all the settings on the TV side. I also can not get the soundbar remote app to work. Lights flash on the soundbar when I try it out but the connection always fails.

Have spent hours trying to get sound through the bar via the HDMI eARC/ARC connection to no avail. Have swapped cables, updated TV software, etc. Have an LG TV and this is clearly an issue between these two products/companies, based on similar posts on the Web by other consumers. The solution, based on their same frustrations? Give up and settle for a more limited audio experience delivered by an optical cable connection, which at least provides sound. What a drag!

Easy to setup and install but quickly found that the sound experience was not the same as my older system. I had it connected to my arc input with my newer Hisense TV, using same high quality hdmi cable. Found the sound quality too low even with adjustments and not enough surround sound. I then setup the Yamaha in my basement and with an older tv and it sounds great. So am not sure why one room with an older tv sounds much better than in another room with a newer tv... Overall am happy with the sound quality not too many tuning options and the app is quite simplistic. Very easy to set up. No issues at all with wireless subwoofewr connecting quickly. Basically plug and play. Inputs/outputs are clearly labeled and not confusing. Instructions were great. Sound is excellent. Remote works well and is clearly labeled.
Brought a week ago from Harvey Norman. Great sound and easy setup. Surround sound and crispy audio. It's a great addition to our theatre room for a low and affordable price.
Over the last month I have purchased and returned eight sound bars because none of them sounded natural to me. It wasn't until I went to Visions did I know that Yamaha has released a whole new line of Dolby sound bars for 2023. The B40A is second from the top. I have it connected to the eARC HDMI port on my Hisense U8K TV. Dolby Atmos sounds amazing. I highly recommend that you listen to the B40A.
The sound bar is one of the most important upgrades to for me. Just upgraded TV, Consoles, Router and Soundbar. Did all my homework and thought picking the newest LG 5.4 with rear speakers I was going to do the trick and after two days it did not literally zero low end base and kind of a pain. but great clarity. Did some more homework decided to go off the grid I should’ve known better went with Yamaha and this sound bar without the rear speakers sounds amazing and the base I can feel it in all the rooms in the first floor best purchase I’ve made so far, Ty Yamaha!! Excuse the mess in the pics. I had to leave Cable management for another day. 
After reading a Pro Review of the Yamaha SR B40A and had to buy it. It decodes Dolby Atmos and replicates it with it's own DSP technology. I love the CLEAR dialogue when engaging "clear voice" and the 6.5" Subwoofer with YST ll technology produces the DEEPEST CLEAN BASS for a soundbar/Sub combo under $400.I love cranking up music (hearing every instrument), watching shows and sports games, and watching Movies with spectacular theater-like sound. Works flawlessly.
