Incredible all round. Material choice and finishes are excellent. I am not an audiophile but the sound is incredible - I put on movies, music and video games and it all sounded crystal clear and immersive. Crystal clear voices and the bass booms. Best system I've ever had and setup was a breeze. I would rate this as a better value than the Sonos One system. Highly recommend to anybody looking for a sound bar surround system - best in class.

I purchased this soundbar with the optional surround speakers. I wanted a system to improve tv audio, which it certainly does. I also wanted a system to listen to music in spatial audio, with surround sound. It is installed in a smaller room, and the clarity is astounding. There is deep bass from the subwoofer without being muddy, and overall the sound is clean and spacious. One thing that is lacking is there are no equalizer controls for any part of the system. The surround speakers and the subwoofer have their own volume controls, but beyond that you get what Yamaha has determined what the EQ should be. Depending on the source of the music, it can either be great, or less than desired. Overall I am pleased with this purchase, it serves my needs.

Just have the bar and sub at the moment as the rears are on the way. Sounds a bit thin unless in the higher volume range. Some older movies on Netflix sound terrible. Hoping the rears add to the depth and richness of the sound. I liked the ease of set up and it looks ok (it's a black bar!). First time user of a bar and I find the lights being all the same colour a little confusing. I may get used to the pattern of them glowing to confirm what features are on and off but colours would have helped as would a read out on the TV. When connected a white light illuminates on the back of the sub. It's quite bright and if you watch in the dark like I do and have the sub in line of sight it's distracting. More to come...

I bought these soundbar about 1 month ago. It was easy to set up and I know use it for when we watch movies and to listen to music on Spotify. The sound quality is amazing, which is not surprising given that it is Yamaha. Even the rear speakers provide a 3d effect when used in concert with the bar and woofer. I have also used the rear speaker in solo mode to stream in a different room and it does provide a good sound quality. This was superb replacement to our previous surround sound system and it looks sleeve
I purchased the X50A along with two WS-X1A speakers to make the system a surround one and—for context—it is in a 10 by 18 foot room. I have previously been a music teacher and entertainments theatre technician. The sound out of the box is excellent and the unit was very simple to set up, though you will need to follow links to the website—easily done—to set up the surround speakers. The bar and speakers have a feel of quality and pastiche, reminding me of the design Yamaha had in years passed, with their fabric covered units. The sub speaker has its cone on the larger width side of it’s box, covered on the face with fabric. The bar and speakers have a feel of quality and pastiche, reminding me of the design Yamaha had in years passed, with their fabric covered units. The sub speaker has its cone on the larger width side of it’s box, covered on the face with fabric. While not vitally necessary to face the cone, the sound is better when you do.The set up is excellently balanced out of the box, though if you like to feel the sub, you’ll need to push the level up to at least 4 or 5/10, as this is the units weak point. What I thought was outstanding though was how refined and well tuned the speakers worked together to produce just the right levels for the range of frequencies in films and music, without one dominating—as found in theatres, but perhaps not cinemas! (Not said as a criticism.) I would suggest for that reason listening to the unit in comparison to others in a store, if you’re preference is to be blasted out of your seat by the bass. While the manual states you need to have eARC HDMI, my projector doesn't, but that didn't matter. Lip sync is excellent, though when setting up the WS-X1A as a solo speaker it was terrible and clearly noticeable at a distance of 12 foot from my iPAD and i cant find any way to adjust that. The ALL feature plays the same sound to all speakers via bluetooth, which meant i could place the surround speaker in the kitchen, about twenty feet from the room where we had the soundbar. What I have found frustrating is trying to pair the speakers again if you reset them by accident. You need to hold the power button for some time for them to reset, before pressing set up. That was fine, though for some reason the surround speakers wouldn’t change their RH or LH preset. I expect this is a ‘new unit’ bug that’ll be sorted with future software updates. The remote is also good and allows you to adjust the level of the surround, depending on where you place a human! The bars 10 or so front mounted LED’s give some indication of change to volume, but you really need to use the phone app to remember where you’ve set levels too.The unit also works with Alexa, though if you like to mute her, bear in mind that a red line LED lights up and doesn’t dim or turn off and is quite distracting when watching a movie in the dark—please fix this Yamaha! Had an inexpensive Yamaha soundbar that had replaced a Vizio one that made its own choices to raise to full volume arbitrarily. Since this is a bedroom tv, figured the basic one was adequate, and that Yamaha had gotten great reviews. Except.it basically just amplified the tv. When in doubt, get Crutchfield's advice. Which I did. Boy, am I glad! This moderately priced (well, to me) -that went on sale, like, three days after we started shopping for it!-is just wonderful. Easy setup, fantastic sound, perfect sounding sub (because I am not a gamer and do not watch action movies), and-what a treat-! -voices are suddenly crystal clear! I thought all that low muffled crud was me!! Thank you, Crutchfield. Ya done good.
The Yamaha true X bar 50A with subwoofer is a great audio system. The sound was very crisp and powerful sounding, compared to the TV speakers. Even when I was two rooms away, I could hear the sounds of the tv show very crisp, and with a powerful bass. The sub woofer also emitted a nice powerful drumming sound to really make the sound effects more clear. When the surround speakers were installed, the sounds went up another level as well. You really felt like you were at a theater with how powerful the sounds emitted were. I highly recommend this product for others to use.
I saw this product at the Yamaha showroom in Dubai . While the packaging isn’t the easiest to check in, Yamaha Dubai recommended purchasing it from Richer SoundsThe product itself is absolutely amazing, and the customer service from Richer Sounds has been outstanding, both before and after the purchase. When I experienced technical issues with my soundbar, they replaced it instantly without any hassle.I highly recommend Yamaha Soundbar from Richer Sounds
First, out of the box this sound bar is a thing of beauty. The build quality is impressive, with a premium feel.Second, set up went flawlessly with a wired Ethernet it updated the firmware right off the bat. The subwoofer paired automatically with the soundbar. I have an Iphone that I connected with Bluetooth and then also connected it with Airplay. Both streaming worked flawlessly with clarity and depth. I'm very impressed with the sound that this bar and sub deliver. I can just imagine if I buy the rear channel surround portable speakers, that would be total immersion.Lastly the remote is ok, make sure you have the bass extension on and the clear voice. You'll be happy you purchased this.
This is my second Yamaha soundbar system. I had an older one and loved it. I recently purchased this unit and the rear speakers too. I purchased directly from B&H. I was unhappy with delivery because the box was all damaged, and it looked like the seal was broken too. So far, things are good; thankfully. I’m currently using this in a small office and the sound is great. I wish the bass was a bit heavier; it seems lower; even with bass extension on. The remote is nice quality, and I like how there are extra features in the Yamaha app. Overall I’m happy with this set up.
