I was happy to receive this saxophone in plenty of time for the holidays. This is a gift for my daughter so I thought I would need to figure out what reeds and such to buy so she can play it when she opens it. To my surprise there were brand new reeds in the case along with a strap. I thought that extra touch was above and beyond and much appreciated! This is a type of item that is much more than our typical budget so it was nice to see we did not have to spend even more to purchase those odds and ends separately. Everything in the case looks brand new. Even the case itself looks new! I was very pleased with this purchase! :)

Not new to brass or guitar, but new to woodwind. Staff were very helpful dealing with a series of questions to assess suitability of alto v tenor, what's in the box, reeds, delivery, service et.al.Excellent packaging and delivery. An alto is eminently handlable, and pitched within human voice range, so perfect.Thoroughly recommend Dawkes as the supplier, and an alto for a beginning saxophonist.

Not much to say, beautifully engineered piece of gear. Everything perfectly functional, so much so that this is the second one I got. One for home practice, one to leave in class for school. If more USA parents were aware of this option, and confident of the import process and shipping, this would be the route to go….
Great Sax for the price. Daughter said it just feels right! Nice to play and generally has a nice feel on the keys. Great sound compared to her beginners one.
For the first time I have a decent saxophone. Getting a Yamaha has always been one of my ideals. The smoothness of the articulation (fingering) of the keys is extraordinary! I have tried some 'made in China' horns, that have an 'angular' feel to them, that is not very comfortable. I have always played second-hand, pawn shop instruments, because of affordability. Even this horn was a consolation for what I would have been able to afford. I charged this horn on my credit card, but I received a rebate which brought the cost down, for me. A good bargain! The sound is beautiful and as sweet as I can make it. What a great sound! I love it! - jef
There is just something about playing on a Yamaha that exceeds other lesser known Saxaphones. Feels great, looks great sounds great, or will do when my skills improve but can't blame the sax for that.
