The Yamaha YG2500 Glockenspiel is a tuned percussion instrument made up of high carbon steel bars. The steel material is treated with a special tempering process that produces a pure tone. The non-graduated bars reduce the weight and cost of the instrument whilst producing uniquely bright tones throughout the instrument's range. Sounds are controlled by striking the steel bars with a mallet. The frame is compact which is great for a travelling musician who already has a lot of equipment and little space left over in their transportation. The compact size also benefits rehearsal settings. Also featured in this YG2500 Glockenspiel is a pedal dampening system and built-in frame that includes height adjustment - using it's very own gas spring support system.
