Well, they did it again! I love it when a brand takes pride in their work. Every little bit about this bag made me happy. I was worried about the magnetic closure and whether or not it would hold cold and water. I recently used the bag on a hunting trip in TX and can easily say that it outperformed my expectations. Everything stayed cool and the bag never leaked. Also, it fit as a carry-on on my AA flight. It was a bit tight in the overhead, but it worked and the airline allowed it.

Being out on the boat, minimizing the footprint of the beverage cooler is important. I’ve had every style of the hopper since it came out and this one seems to be the best. The new magnet opening is the key on this one and out of the box it does stay open on its own. Makes loading and grabbing a beer much easier. From an aesthetic view point, the black is nice but I wish from a functionality standpoint they could figure out a white or very light grey to reflect some UV/sunlight rather than absorb it. I know that results in scuffs and marks that people would complain about so understand why it’s not out (yet).

Occasionally when I add (pre chilled) beer, the sides will swell. This makes it challenging to add a whole lot of ice so I cannot attest to the total advertised capacity. But I can say that it will hold a 15 pack of 16 oz beers and enough ice to stay cold for several days in my laundry room. I received my redesigned Yeti M30 soft Cooler as a result of the Yeti recall. The cooler is virtually identical to the old cooler except it cost me more money, more time to deal with the return and Yeti’s ineffective customer service. Yeti’s handling of the recall is poor at best and not customer friendly. There is no ability to exchange the M30 for the redesigned M30. Customers need to return their old M30, wait for a gift card, then reorder the redesigned M30. Therefore not only dealing with the return process and logistics, but also paying sales tax again for the product you already had and paid sales tax on. In my situation the gift card amount was insufficient to pay for the reorder. I will give credit to the customer service rep who submitted a strap replacement order for me, he was very kind and quick to help me out..... but that was almost a month ago and it still hasn't arrived. After reaching out 3 times, I finally was told it was on back order and they have no idea when it will ship out. Would be nice to use the cooler this summer.. Between the quality of the strap and the customer service, this will probably be the last Yeti cooler we purchase. Purchased Hopper M30 after original Hopper 40 zipper failed. There’s no comparison. The 40 was a very well constructed, exceptionally efficient cooler with the design flaw in the zipper.The M30 is well constructed, but uses a different inferior insulation that doesn’t come close to the performance of the original 40. Did a side by side comparison using identical frozen bottles. The M30 lasted approx 22 hours, the original 40 lasted 43 hours.It appears the designers substituted an interior insulation (feels like a hard foam) to increase profits compared to the softer almost gel like insulation in the original.Very disappointed given Yeti’s reputation and quality of construction.
Yetti customer support is atrocious. I called support they told me they do not have that part and I need to file a warranty claim. I tried 3 times to submit a warranty claim using Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. I get all the way through the end and the website just spins and never finishes processing the claim. Was asked to file claim through email instead.At the e$350 price point I expected support to say I'm so sorry let me overnight you a new strap. If I was no service and a terrible product I cand stick with Rtic for a lot less!This is so disappointing. It's a $350 cooler and it broke before I even got a chance to use it once and I'm forced to file a warranty claim for something I never even got to use. I really like the magnetic closure on top instead of the zippers used on previous versions. It keeps items cold and performs as advertised.My biggest disappointment with this cooler is how difficult it is to load or unload. If all I used it for was ice, wine bottles, and cans, I think it would be fine. However, the footprint is small which makes it hard to load items like Tupperware containers or styrofoam boxes. Forget being able to keep containers upright while loading….its almost a 2-person job.
