Or, even two not very heavy drinkers going to the beach you can fit a decent amount of cans in it. And, best yet once again it's a Yeti. From the ground I know I can toss it up to the locomotive and not have to worry about it breaking.

I calibrated the cooler overnight. In the morning, I packed it full of COLD drinks and a standard bag of ice, expecting the usual Yeti magic. But after six hours, I found ~half the ice had called it quits. Sure, this is a smaller, day-trip cooler, and even though the ice melted faster than my willpower at my child’s school fun fair, the drinks did stay icy cold (Caveat: I did pop the lid a few times). At this price, though, I kind of expected the cooler to keep its chill a bit longer. Is this the reality of a smaller cooler or should Iexpect more from Yeti? Now for my hard cooler basket hack; is the basket super handy? Absolutely! Worth the ransom Yeti wants for it? Only if you’re into being spooned by a Yeti in your sleep. Instead, here’s the workaround: grab yourself a Rubbermaid ‘Brilliance’ Food Storage Container, Medium Rectangle (plastic, not glass). A quick trim on both ends with a mini hacksaw, and it fits like a charm—with or without the tupperware lid! The best part? You just saved yourself enough cash for a six-pack and a sub…that will stay dry!Overall, the Roadie 15 is a good performer, but don’t expect miracles—and definitely don’t expect me to shell out for Yeti’s daylight robbery accessories. Yeti, if you’re reading this, you can do better—and you know it. To conclude, I give this cooler a solid 3 star, but a limp 4.

The tundra drain plugs are wonderful, but this one doesn’t get all the water out due to the design on the drain. You therefore have to tip it nearly on its side to get the water out of the drain. Somewhat negating the point of the plug when you can just flip the whole cooler upside down and get it out faster. But in terms of overall quality and design I am pleased with it after weeks of everyday use. It fits in perfectly into our lineup of YETI coolers where the others where just too big.

Great shift work lunchbox!
23 July 2024

Love the new size. It’s small enough to not be a burden to carry around, especially with the versatile strap. I work 24hr shifts and was using the soft backpack cooler, but it didn’t stay fridge-cold quite long enough. This one keeps everything plenty cold with a small and medium yeti thin ice at the bottom. The large yeti thin ice does not fit unless you stand it up against the back of the cooler. I give the cooler itself 5 stars, however, I wish there was a more shallow tray to use inside of it for small items like trail mix packs and jerky sticks. The small roadie tray’s depth takes up too much room for whatever is below it. If they release this size in the key lime color, I’m buying another one!

The cooler arrived scratch and scuffed and looked used. The seams weren’t flushed. The product quality was below their standards. It’s super disappointing that this brand new cooler looked refurbished. The reviews of this product being poorly made should’ve warned me, but I dismissed them thinking it would be ok. I was wrong. I returned the cooler. I have a wheeled Roadie 60 that’s been hit by a golf club (by accident) used as a bench, flung around and hit by a door, it LOOKS BETTER USED vs this brand new cooler. I don’t think it’s a shipment problem because my roadie 60 was a massive delivery. I think this is a quality issue. This was a gift and I didn’t want to give away a “used” looking cooler to my parents.

Needs One Accessory For Desert Survival

If Yeti offered an accessory spout to put in place of the plug - that would make this an essential product for desert observers. Perhaps Yeti could do so and become a sponsor of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Yearly BigHorn Sheep Count — which is what this would be perfect for if it could be fitted with a spout; then it would become a portable personal water silo that is still heavy, but manageable for a hike in, hours of observation in the heat that can surpass 120 degrees Fahrenheit, and a hike out. Perfect, versatile solution!
15 July 2024

Exactly what we've been looking for to use on long car trips!! Glad you came out with this size!! We have several other sizes but nothing works for those long trips in the truck like this! We put it right behind the console, on the floor board of the back seat in our Ford F-150. This allows for easy access to frosty cold drinks on long trips. With the larger hard cooler (didn't fit well- fit too tightly making it hard to open) and the soft sided cooler (too difficult to open/close zipper while reaching back while driving) neither were the perfect answer to our needs until you came out with this! And it's great for portability too. You can drop a nice bottle of wine in there as well as food and other drinks. Not too heavy when loaded. Perfect and versatile!

The upside is if it breaks, I just need a new strap and not a whole new container...so for me, it works, and I'm really pleased with it.

The Yeti cooler I've been waiting for
9 July 2024

This UPS truck dropped my cooler off just as I was heading out paddle boarding. I threw it in and unboxed it at the parking lot, strapped it onto my board and I've been using it constantly ever since. I live in a recreational Mecca, so my Tundra 45 is a bit overkill for my daily micro-adventures. I've been needing a small hard cooler for a while now and I'm glad that Yeti finally came out with this. It is perfect for strapping lunch & drinks to the paddle board, or taking out to watch fireworks, boating for the day, or even just taking lunch to work. This will probably become my most used cooler. I do have a couple complaints- on the website interior dimensions are listed but I've found them to be mis-leading. They list the inside as being 7.5" wide, so I purchased ... MoreThis UPS truck dropped my cooler off just as I was heading out paddle boarding. They list the inside as being 7.5" wide, so I purchased two large Yeti Thin Ice packs to sit in the bottom. The inside is actually tapered so while the opening is 7.5" wide, my ice packs do not fit flat- which is a total bummer. Additionally, the drain plug opening sits substantially higher than the floor of the cooler so you really have to tilt it to the side so get all the water drained out. Otherwise I'm totally thrilled with this cooler- and I absolutely love how easily the carrying strap comes on and off.

Ultimate Lunch Box
9 August 2024

Ordered the Roadie 15 from the Yeti website and it arrived in good condition. Have used it every work day for a little over a week now. Was a little bigger than I'd hoped because there were none in the stores here yet to look at, but still just small enough to be considered the ultimate lunch box. So now I just carry more food or ice if I want lol. The shoulder strap was the biggest deal maker. The strap is super durable, very comfortable, and the hand hold is surprisingly functional as well. The one-handed latches were also a major point, the coolers/lunch boxes with zippers are more trouble than they're worth in my experience. Love the durability of the hard cooler: you have to be careful of what it bangs into when carrying it in tight quarters because it may ... MoreOrdered the Roadie 15 from the Yeti website and it arrived in good condition. Love the durability of the hard cooler: you have to be careful of what it bangs into when carrying it in tight quarters because it may damage the other object. For real. The optional basket is just perfect for condiments and silverware or other small items. Just enough room for 4 to 6 standard 8-3/8 inch paper plates when using the basket: this is also essential for me. Keeps cold very well. Still haven't decided about the drain plug, just seems like one more thing to lose when I'm super busy working out in the field. The plug will be handy if I ever buy cubed ice instead of using freeze packs. Sure is nice to have an actual cooler because I don't want to eat unhealthy processed food that doesn't require refrigeration. Love the tan color, dark enough to hide minor scuffs and stains but light enough to absorb sunlight less than the darker colors. It's also a stealthy color as well considering they can grow legs lol. I own several other Yeti products so I'm sure this cooler is a great investment for the daily and sometimes hard use it will see. The only thing I would recommend is for Yeti to offer an even smaller Roadie, maybe a 10 or 12 quart. Overall an outstanding product. Good job Yeti!
