After borrowing a friend's Yeti Tank/Bucket, and being shocked that it kept ice frozen for multiple days, I was sold on Yeti! It then became a matter of when (not if) I would purchase one. So, when a 5-day cabin-in-the-woods trip came up, It was time. I bought the Tundra 45 hard cooler to keep frozen and refrigerated food cold for a 9-hour drive, and then beverages cold for 3-4 days thereafter (after food would be transferred to mini cabin refrigerator). I was a bit disappointed to find that despite pre-chilling the cooler with a "sacrificial bag"of ice the day before packing, and using Yeti Ice, most of the food I packed was less than chilled after our drive.I will admit that the issue I had may have been user error. Maybe I needed to use more ice between the food items? As I mentioned, I packed Yeti Ice underneath the food, then layered frozen food, ice, cold food, ice, repeat. I would have used more ice, but honestly I was surprised to find how compact the interior space of this cooler was! I'm not sure I would have been able to pack enough cold foods for two adults with more ice. Next time, I suppose, I will have to pack more dried food to allow for more ice. However, I will say, I'm not sure it will be worth it to bring this bulky cooler for such a small amount of food.I think this cooler may be better used for beverages (specifically cans). On the trip I've discussed at length here, the cooler performed extremely well when it was re-filled with beer and soft drinks.Bottom line: This cooler is great at keeping drinks cold, so it lives up to its reputation in that way. However, if you need to pack food for more than an afternoon, be mindful of the interior dimensions and necessity for significant quantities of ice to keep food cold––you may need a larger Yeti than you think.

I've always wanted a Yeti cooler but the price has kept me away. I had some gift cards from Christmas and got a great deal on one so together I decided now was the time to try it. I got the orange one, which is exactly what it looked like online. I put it to use over the weekend almost immediately. On Friday night I "sacrificed" a 5lb bag of ice to pre-cool it. (No cooler will do well if you put everything in when it's hot in there.) Early Saturday morning I loaded it up with food, drinks, and 20lbs of ice. It sat under a tree all day Saturday and Sunday and we were in and out of it all weekend. Kept everything ice cold. Late Sunday evening we were back home and I unloaded the food and drink and decided dumping the ice would have to wait. I put the cooler on the side of the house where it was be shaded during the day and forgot about it.The next weekend (7 days after I originally loaded it up), I went to pour out the water and was quite surprised to find it still had about 1 lb of ice left in it. Wow. The day time temps were 70s and 80s F and overnight it was 40s and 50s F all week. Needless to say, if you pre-cool it and keep it in the shade you should get several days without needing to add ice, and maybe longer. It is sturdy and heavy, maybe too heavy for one person fully loaded, but I have no concerns about this breaking on me. Highly recommend for a person who is camping more than a weekend but isn't having to haul things a long way from the car. For that type of outdoors person, it is well worth the money.

This cooler is absolutely amazing!! I’ve heard the hype about Yeti coolers for years, but figured that our old Coleman was good enough and not worth replacing. We finally bought the Yeti, and it was a revolutionary experience. We just went on a 4-day, 3-night camping trip with this cooler - about 15 lbs of ice, a large quantity of beer, and some actual food (mostly milk, string cheese and burgers). Yeti recommends all sorts of tricks to stretch the cooling power, including pre-chilling the cooler, putting a towel over the contents so you don’t have complete air exchange every time you open it, and not keeping it open for very long/not going into it often. We did not do the first two tricks. We didn’t leave the cooler open for excessively long periods of time, but we ... MoreThis cooler is absolutely amazing!! We did not do the first two tricks. We didn’t leave the cooler open for excessively long periods of time, but we were not particularly careful about not opening it very often. And yet. By day 2, there was still mostly ice and barely any water. With any other cooler, most of the ice would have melted by then. By day 3, there was some water but still huge chunks of ice. With any other cooler, there wouldn’t be any ice left and the water wouldn’t even be cold. By the time we came home on day 4, there were still sizable chunks of ice and the water was icy-cold. We were EXTREMELY impressed. I think if we pre-chilled the cooler, did the towel trick, put all the beer in a different cooler so we could go in and out of that cooler often and not open the Yeti very much, we could probably get the Yeti to last 5-6 days.
Heavy. If you day trip(s) its not for you. This cooler is sold as a multi day use cooler (hunting, long range fishing, etc...) keeping the products cold for days. If you need a cooler for a weekend camping trip, birthday party at a park, there are better lighter, cheaper choices. If you purchase this cooler have your partner pick it up and note the cumbersome weight when empty. For most people this is a two person haul when filled with ice/packs and provisions. The interior of the yeti coolers is small due to the thick insulation walls, remember you have to put ice in the cooler as well. The cooler is sturdy. It is prone to theft due to the cost, so you will have to invest in a cable, lock(s), door clip, see yeti accessories for list of security items needed to keep ... MoreHeavy. Paid over a month ago, still don’t have it. I received a defective yeti after ordering from the yeti website. It came with a bad seal. Sent it back and it was received by yeti two weeks ago. Still have yet to even get confirmation that my new yeti has been shipped. I’ve been a loyal yeti customer since 2010, owning 4 yeti hard coolers and 2 soft coolers. Not including cups, accessories, etc. I have spoken to customer service multiple times with little help. I am told by people who can barely speak English and with screaming children in the background that my return is “processing.” I get that quality control cannot catch every defective product. That’s life and I get that’s a simple mistake in manufacturing. No big deal. It’s the fact that in order to remedy the issue, I cannot get anyone to give me an update and that it takes FOREVER to receive my replacement product that I spent my hard earned dollars on. I’m very disappointed. I’ve always spoken high praises of the Yeti brand and have even sold it myself as a retail sales associate in the past. I have had great experiences with yeti warranty in the past but this experience has been an absolute nightmare and I still don’t have my cooler almost a month after the initial order date.
I have a pair of 15 year-old Coleman coolers with thick walls and lids that works amazingly well, but the lid hinges are busted and the handles are cracked and they are pretty beat up, so I decided that it was finally time to upgrade. I figured that if I had to buy replacements for my old coolers, I might as well splurge and buy a brand that is supposedly among the best, so I bought two Yeti Tundra 65s. And, wow….what a disappointment!First of all, the Tundra 65s don’t keep ice nearly as well as my old coolers. Based on the other reviews here, I know that Yeti loves to reply to comments about how poorly their coolers keep ice by posting a link to their “10 Tips to Keep Ice Longer in Your YETI Cooler” page. Well, I’m not a rookie – I already know how to pack a cooler properly and I already do an overwhelming majority of those 10 things. I brought the Tundra 65s from the hot garage into my cool, air-conditioned home two days prior to the trip, all of the food and drinks that I packed in the coolers were pre-chilled (in fact, all of the meat came out of my freezer, so it was frozen solid when I put it in the cooler). I put two solid 10lb blocks of ice at the bottom of each cooler (that’s 20lbs worth of blocks in each cooler), put my already-extremely-cold food and drinks at the bottom next to the blocks, and covered it in in tons of crushed ice. When I pack my old coolers in this fashion, it freezes so well that I sometimes have to give the crushed ice a few gentle whacks with a hammer to chisel my food out of the ice. In the Tundra 65s, on the other hand, all of the crushed ice had melted to water in just 24 hours. It was just my food and the two ice blocks floating in water. Weak! Also, one of my two new Yeti coolers developed not one, but two defects after only four days of use! One of the coolers already has a warped lid which compromises the seal and, in addition to that, the outer shell on this same cooler has already started separating from the insulation, so there is a large bubble in the shell bulging out on the front of the cooler. For the price I paid, I was expecting a quality product that would function properly and last a long time, but that’s apparently not what I got from Yeti.Lastly, the coolers have some basic design flaws. The gaps in wire mesh of the dry goods basket it far too large. Unless in plastic bags or some other container, small items can easily fall through the basket into the ice…err, I mean water…below. Also, the drain plug isn’t attached to the cooler, making it easy to lose. All in all, I can’t express how disappointed I am in my Yeti coolers so far, especially considering Yeti’s reputation (and the price I paid!). At this point, I doubt I’ll ever buy another Yeti product again. I’ll be contacting Yetis warranty department about all the defects in my cooler, but I’m not holding my breath with regards to a positive outcome. We’ll see…
Yeti coolers have really gone down hill and now their quality is absolute garbage. I purchased this Tundra 45 on 6/13/2024 and it has been nothing but trouble. I noticed the lid wasn’t sealing well and the corners would touch before the seal could. I called to turned in a warranty claim and I’m now sending back number 5 of the exchanged coolers. So once again, I’m waiting for another warranty claim. My friend ordered the same cooler from TSC’s website and received one made in Mexico while mine was produced in the Philippines. His cooler was absolutely perfect. It sealed tightly and took some effort to latch the lid.The advice I have for anyone shopping for a Tundra line of coolers, don’t buy one. Great product. Paid for expedited shipping but did not arrive on time (other products from same order and manifest arrived Thurs; Cooler did not arrive til Tuesday). Delayed vacation wdeparture. Yeti did reimburse shipping and offered future discount but lost trip time which we cannot get back. There was only a single wrap of paper on “some” items (no bubble wrap). Testimony to how good these products are built as despite flopping around in box not one item was actually damaged. Yeti Tundra 75 Cooler - White
The original YETI - The Tundra ! The Tundra by YETI is an ultra-sturdy, bear-resistant portable cooler, ideal for any outdoor adventure! The Tundra has been developed with a FatWall design, where extra-thick walls hold up to two inches of insulation for superior ice retention, and Permafrost insulation, pressure-injected commercial-grade polyurethane foam within the walls and lid which ensures your ice doesn't melt. This is further enhanced by an Interlock Lid system which creates a form-fitting barrier and the ColdlockT Gasket, a freezer quality gasket which blocks out the heat and locks in the cold! The rotomolded construction makes the Tundra virtually indestructible, whilst the patented heavy-duty rubber T-Rex lid latches and the military grade polyester rope DoubleHaul handles have been included for incredible durability. The team at YETI have also included the Neverfail hinge system which includes two hinge pins and an interlocking design which prevents the hinges from breaking. Bearfoot non-slip feet prevent sliding, ensuring your YETI Tundra is kept securely in place. When you're finished using your Tundra at the end of your journey, the Vortex Drain System has you covered - it's leakproof, rugged, and designed for quick and easy draining! Win! With this many features, you simply cannot go without the Tundra by YETI on your next adventure! The Tundra 75 holds up to 50 cans and is ideal for large gatherings and camping holidays with friends and family!
