This lens is dead on! I love everything about it from the impact and water resistance to the incredible pictures it allows me to take. Nothing comes close to it. It is amazing every time. No need to try before buying, just buy it!

Superb color rendition, sharpness, build quality... it is all there. It is always on my camera and with Nikon Z6 it is really easy to manually focus.

Build quality is outstanding! Great results if used properly. I found it hard to use on a most crowded and noisy place since I rely on my cameras focus sound as I can?t hear it when it hit the focus so you have to look at the light it get the focus. It?s a little challenging to use in a noisy place at least for me. But the color and sharpness the photo it produces is amazing! I have the lens for 6 months now and I love it! Although it?s not my general lens to use but surely I?m keeping it for years to come

It is a really superb lens. I was just hoping it would create a shallower depth of field than I could pull from it. Blame it on the operator!
I alway depend on my Zeiss glass for consistent uniform color and great contrast, minimal flare.. a professional photographer PRIMEGLASS. There MIVLUS line is exceptional. You will be a happy camper
Hefty, sharp, easy to use, but hefty. My wife received this for her birthday. She is a floral and garden photographer who needs resolution and focus accuracy. This lens allows her to freeze images and remain steady. For her it is heavy enough to do squats in the Body Pump Class at the Y. However as a tool for photography its a home run bat. It was a great purchase with great results.
I was going to buy the Canon 35mm lens, but am happy I opted for this instead. Quality is excellent. Yes, heavier than most, but it hasn't been a huge issue and I've gone on several hikes with it, carrying it, etc. No problems with camera shake or focus issues (which I have had with Canon lenses). I tested my ability to hand hold down to 1/15 and was able to do it (never with the Canon lens). The manual focus is not a problem ... as another reviewer suggested, I use the focus assist (green light in the viewfinder). The resulting photos are stunning and I've eliminated a lot of issues I was having with Canon lenses, which frees me up to focus on more important things, like getting the shot. I'm probably going to trade up my Canon 50mm lens for the Zeiss eventually. ... MoreI was going to buy the Canon 35mm lens, but am happy I opted for this instead. Quality is excellent. Other things: background blur is nice, chromatic aberration is definitely a thing under certain conditions, if you want a light-weight lens, then reconsider. But, this lens has brought my confidence in my photographic ability back (because I was having so many performance issues with the Canon lenses I was doubting myself). Glad I bought this and would recommend it.
It's weather resistant to dust and moisture -- yes! The focus ring is smooth and responsive -- a pleasure to focus. The weight is good, balances well on the camera. If you want AF and 1.4, go with Sigma. I felt this lens was going to offer a different experince and make me work in a different way.
