I absolutely adore this tent. Got back from Kinglake today after a windy weekend and just want to take it back out again!Have had this for 2 years now. First time I took it out, we had torrential rain and horrible storms in West Victoria near Arapiles. I was perfectly dry. First time camping as well, and had no issues with the wind. Other tents around suffered from water damage or collapsed in the storm in the middle of the night. Only had to worry about some rain coming into the vestibule as the fly does not touch the ground. Rain didn't get too far and bags more or less stayed dry.It is big enough for me to sit up in and I love the little hook on the ceiling and pockets on the side. Ventilation is a bit tricky as it only has the one door but lifting up the fly ... MoreI absolutely adore this tent. I can't recommend it enough. Quality build, I absolutely love this thing! Some pics from last year and this weekend away

Used several times since purchase. Totally reliable in moderate wind & rain. Well made, although the tub is a bit floppy at the entrance & might be a problem in a deluge. Excellent head height with brow pole, but might not suit those over 183cm. Set up & pack down in minutes. Honest weight & size.

Tested this last weekend which just happened to be a rainy one. Light rain but no issues at all. Carefully cooked my porridge in the vestibule in the morning while it rained. I then just waited inside the tent while it rained and repacked my pack ready for the day's hike ahead. Love the fact that I have the headroom while seated as I am 6.2. Length and width was all fine. Love the weight of this tent for the price. Easy setup and take down. Had to pack away wet and dried at home. No footprint which is a pity so used one from my Marmot Tungsten 2P Hiking Tent.

I've had this tent for a while but hadn't had the opportunity to test it out until last week when I took it for a three night hike along the Heysen Trail. Set up and pull down were both quick and easy. I only had one night of decent rain but absolutely no issues and I found it coped well with the wind. There are lighter tents out there (not that this is in anyway heavy!) but for the money I'd say this is an excellent option. I'm around the 190cm mark My only slight criticism would be that you do have to be very careful with the pegs as mentioned in other reviews. Keep a few spares with you. Other than that, a great little tent.
Finally bought this tent after reading dozens of reviews. Set it up in the yard the first time and found it very east to pitch (love the colour coding) and easy to get a good shape and tension on the fly. Found it roomy in all directions for me (I'm 177cm 74kg) and a bit of gear inside, with a bit to spare. The vestibule is big enough for what's left of my 60lt pack once the tent, mat and sleeping bag are removed. Was also impressed with the sturdiness of the tent, once guyed out. One thing I was happily surprised about is that Freedom camping have obviously been listening to their customers reviews and have made a couple of improvements to the Atom. One thing I was happily surprised about is that Freedom camping have obviously been listening to their customers reviews and have made a couple of improvements to the Atom. The tent now unzips from the left hand side which makes much more sense in relation to the inner door. Apparently it used to open from the right and you had to reach right in and across to get in. So now it's a breeze to get in and out. The other improvement is that they have added a loop to peg down the back of the tent, which in the past was meant to be a bit flappy. So I wanted to give the Atom a decent test before I wrote a review. Took it out last weekend in a bit of dodgy weather up the Higgs Track in Tas and camped by Lady Lake hut. The rest of my party took shelter in the hut, where they stayed the night. I pitched the tent in the rain. I managed to pitch it "fly first" and keep the inner perfectly dry. This took a fair bit of readjusting and fiddling (as you can see in the youtube time-lapse 'Trevor setting up a tent' taken by a fellow hiker shortly after i'd started). I'm sure it would get easier after a couple of goes. Anyway, it rained all afternoon and was a bit windy and the tent stayed dry and comfortable. Went down to about 2 degrees overnight and found the tent quite airy, so I was happy to have a decent bag (Marmot Sawtooth) and had a much better nights sleep than than the hut crowd by all accounts. Inner and inner fly were nice and dry in the morning. Overall am very pleased with the Zempire Atom. I reckon it's well made and a great performer compared to cheapie tents (like Darche Urban Stealth) and a bargain compared to other premium one person tents (like MSR and Macpac). Would recommend to anyone for 3 season hiking or bikepacking in Tassie as long as you have have decent bedding, sleeping pad, clothing etc. Just a tip about sleeping pads, I always use a decent self inflating mat plus a cheap and light EVA foam mat underneath in Tassie and sleep as warm as toast!
I bought this at Snowys a few years ago and have tested it extensively in heavy rain, heat and very high winds. In short these Zempire Adventure series tents are outstanding quality and value for money. 10,000mm floor with 5000mm fly... many much more expensive tents don't have ratings that good - and having tested it in heavy rain many times yes they are leak proof. In hot weather you can setup without the fly and the inner mesh is see thru. The stakes are ok but not super tough and bend pretty easily, for hard ground get some heavy duty ones which you can get for just over $1 each anyway. AND the fly is ripstop!! So many more expensive tents aren't even ripstop. I can't say enough about the value for money and greatness of this design and quality although there ... So many more expensive tents aren't even ripstop. I can't say enough about the value for money and greatness of this design and quality although there are a few minor issues. In very high winds (60km+) the red elasticated loops that go around the ground stakes all snapped (on different days). In 'normal' conditions it wouldn't be an issue, but where I used to camp it was a great view but the winds were often high. I replaced all the Zempire loops with Tough Grid brand 750 lb paracord which is issued to the US military, you can get it on amazon. It's a worthwhile upgrade although not essential for most people's camping. Since then there have been no issues in high winds.
I've had the Atom for a few months and used it several times on kayak trips. It's a much more a compact package than my previous tent, taking minimal space in the kayak hatch. It's quick and easy to set up and has ample room for me (183cm tall). The detail of the design is excellent - colour coding where its needed, nice quality metal poles and particularly strong, lightweight pegs with pull-out loops attached. I like the way the fly clips on. Last weekend I was camping when a cold front came through with very strong, gusty winds that smashed my friend's tent (admittedly a much cheaper one). The Atom handled it particularly well. It's also performed well in heavy rain. My only gripe, as mentioned by a previous reviewer, is that the fly doesn't have a pocket or ... My only gripe, as mentioned by a previous reviewer, is that the fly doesn't have a pocket or reinforcement to keep the ends of the cross-pole in place, and I'm concerned it could puncture the fly in extreme winds - I think I'll glue on a couple of foam pads. Overall, I'm very impressed with the design, materials and value for money.
I'd like to thank the Zempire team for creating such a wonderful tenting experience. This tent has enable me to travel the world with a quality light weight tent for a reasonable price.I had a tent pole break, they honoured the warranty and replaced the necessary parts. Unfortunately my tent is now out of warranty and although I have not had a break since my previous, I have noticed that (5) female tent pole ends are starting to show signs of cracks developing. In the future I would like to see.. - a deeper tub wall at the entrance way- brighter or off natural coloured tent stakes, as well as enough included to use the guide lines.
I've had Zempire Atom for around 4 years now, recently backpacking around Girraween Nat Park and about to take it to Mt Buffalo and then The Overland Track. This tent has been well tested and has been a joy to use.Good head height when sitting up, and plenty of length when lying down, Im 177cm tall, my friend is 195cm and also has an Atom.THe missing tiedown at the tent rear side panel has now been added, although I added my own and I upgraded to MSR Groundhog minis. I've also added new dynamic paracord to the tie-downs.It is defo waterproof but I do like the additional groundsheet you can obtain, the internal pockets are well placed. This is real value for money and may even be better than tents costing twice as much.
I have had my Zempire Atom one person tent for 3 years and absolutely love the quality Zempire products. I did a lot of research when looking for the right tent for me and couldn't find a better value for money, light weight and waterproof tent. I could have have paid over 4 times as much for other brands that weigh less, but would have sacrificed the "water proofness" (water head rating) for weight (I am so glad I didn't). I have absolute faith in my Atom after being caught out in heavy rainstorms when hiking on different trails, most recently the Six Foot Track in the Blue Mountains and I remained perfectly dry whilst my fellow hikers tents leaked. The pros: Easy to put up and take down, extremely waterproof - Love my Atom tent and would take it anywhere and recommend it to anyone. I have also since bought some other Zempire gear for camping and again I have been impressed with the quality.
