He can still get to the inside of his knees and his back feet, but he has to work hard to do so. As a result, he does not do so often. In terms of comfort, once he got used to it, quit bumping into stuff, and realized he just can't walk under the coffee tables anymore, he's good. He might even sleep more comfortably with it than without it.

Then we found ProCollar (the 2nd one we bought is called ZenCollar but it looks/functions the same) and it was such a lifesaver! Once we put this on her, she became almost instantly more relaxed and back to the sweet and loving cat we knew. I am so thankful somebody thought of this idea and made it!!! The idea of my poor cat being stressed out for two weeks (while probably in pain and not feeling good during recovery) made me so sad. I have not had any issues with leaks as others had, but if I did, I would just go buy more, it is that great of a product. My cat had sutures in two places (from two different procedures a year apart) - on her front leg and near her butt - and she wasn't able to reach either place with the ProCollar. THANK YOU FOR MAKING AND CARRYING THIS GREAT PRODUCT!!!

Isn't perfect, but I'm extremely grateful for this product

I originally bought this product for my kitten that was spayed when we got her. It worked decently well and she was very comfortable in it. The flaw is that if they try hard enough they can get at their stitches, however, she could barely reach the incision. So it helps greatly, but definitely not fool proof. You have to put your pet in a collar for this to work effectively, but I really don't see how thats an issue for any pet. If your pet will tolerate having the donut on their head, they will tolerate a flimsy little collar if thats all you have. Thats really all you need too. I just recently pulled this out of the closet again because my adult cat (whom we believe got fleas from my gross apartment building) is itching extremely bad and I'm trying to prevent him ... MoreI originally bought this product for my kitten that was spayed when we got her. It is doing great for that, but since he itches at the donut, its starting to wear on it a little bit. It's only $14 for a new X-Small though, so I guess I'm not too upset. The XS fit my 4 month old kitten and now my 4 year old (big) cat! Overall super impressed with this product. I think my cats like it much better than a traditional cone as well.

My Puppy Loves Her Neck Pillow

Seems to make my dog much comfier than her cone, as a method for keeping her from licking her paws (she has allergies to our grass) and digging the top of her head. She actually props the ZenCollar in place and takes naps with her head propped up. Only drawback has been the hole she punched in it a week after she got it as she wore through the cloth cover in the few days she had it & she rammed full speed through a door, catching her ZenCollar in the frame. But, a little electrical tape (I made a patch, then put 2 pieces overlapping the top & bottom of the patch, then 2 more on either side to reduce any chance for leakage) and she was back in business. It is cooler for her as well. Her cone gave her an ear infection from the heat around her neck/ears, while this ... MoreSeems to make my dog much comfier than her cone, as a method for keeping her from licking her paws (she has allergies to our grass) and digging the top of her head. I'm giving this product only three stars because... The first Zen pet collar came, I put it on my dog before bed. the next morning it was completely deflated and she had chewed through her bandages on her front paws and did further harm to her injuries. I contacted Chewys - who have an excellent customer service team! and they shipped out another one. this time I inflated it in the morning and watched if it held air before trying it on her again before bed. Yay! it held air! Before bed I put the zen collar on her for the night. early the next morning the collar did hold air all night BUT she was still able to reach both her front paws and again, chewed through her bandages(wounds were almost healed) and chewed her wounds so badly that paws were raw and bleeding :( ... MoreI'm giving this product only three stars because... Don't buy this product is your trying to keep your pet from chewing on their front paws/front legs. However, I highly recommend if your trying to protect other areas. FYI: (1) Be sure it holds air before you trust it. (2) Be sure to inflate fully - & pushing in on the air valve once aired. (3) Buy a spare collar you can thread through the inside straps of zen collar, otherwise your pet will wiggle it off. (4) Once the zen collar is on your pets head, Velcro strap firmly, and turn open-Velcro side around to back of pets head. I hope this info helps someone else avoid any issues I had with it.

We tried MANY other inflatable recovery collars (That other company that starts with a "K" and makes very sturdy pet toys was a serious LET DOWN! DID NOT HOLD UP AT ALL!). I also tried the pool noodle thing - NOPE! And that huge, white plastic E-collar cone of shame the vet gave us, well, unthinkable! THIS inflatable has a sturdy cover that is removable and holds up for cleaning. It is also durable enough so that when your doggy scratches and claws and tries to get it off so he can get to his stitches (and believe me, he will, even if you only let him out of your sight for ONE SECOND!!) he will not be able to puncture the durable ZenPet collar! Short Term

My dog has an autoimmune disease that causes wounds on both of her front legs. I bought two types of blocking pillows. Although I didn't give this a high rating, it is the one she is using today. The reason for the lower rating is craftmanship and expected life of the product. There is no stitching around the hole that the air nozzle sticks out of. Thus, that is shredding over time. The next issue is the Velcro. It's not the strongest so the strap doesn't line up as well anymore. My little nugget has learned to put her paw into the donut, apply pressure and the Velcro strap is detached. I don't use a collar because I don't want her having this pillow dangling. After about 6 months the zipper no longer stays closed. For these reasons I give it the lower rating. The ... MoreMy dog has an autoimmune disease that causes wounds on both of her front legs. Very poorly made

I bought this pet collar for my kitten after her spay surgery. The “cone of shame” the vet provided was just too big and kitty was struggling to eat or drink. This worked well for the first two days, but on the third, it was deflated. There was no visible damage, and the inflation tube was tucked in and in a position that was unreachable by kitty. When I examined the air bladder, it had failed at the point where the inflation tube attaches to the bladder, which seems to be a common failure, after reading the comments. This was a great idea, and if it had quality manufacturing, would be a truly great alternative to the cone. I needed this product ASAP, so I bought from a brick & mortar retailer. Recently I ordered the zen collar because my 120lb Saint Bernard had surgery and the cone that the Vet’s gave me just wasn’t working. The cone was to big and made it difficult to get around, eat, and drink so I thought this would be much better. The zen collar is easy to use. Easily inflated, easy to feed the dogs collar through the straps that hold it in place and allows her to be able to see and eat and drink. It has worked great for the first week but then the straps that hold the collar in place broke. When I removed the pillow insert and turned the cover inside out I saw that it was poorly sewn together. I patched it back together myself and she is currently wearing it until I can find one that is better quality. I will definitely look into getting another one ... MoreRecently I ordered the zen collar because my 120lb Saint Bernard had surgery and the cone that the Vet’s gave me just wasn’t working. ZenPet ProCollar Premium Recovery Collar for dogs and cats. This unique product has been designed to replace the traditional Elizabethan (lampshade) collar which now firmly belongs back in the era from which which they were named after. The ProCollar does not block your dog or cat’s vision and allows your dog or cat to stay protected after post-surgery wounds, injuries or rashes whilst being able to resume normal everyday activities such as eating, sleeping and having fun! The ProCollar has an inflatable inner tube that is inflated through a two-way air valve. Once inflated, the ProCollar works a soft deterrent and almost becomes a portable recovery pillow! The inner tube is protected by a machine washable, lightweight and breathable yet durable canvas cover that resists bites and scratches. The ProCollar is held in place by inserting your dog or cat’s everyday collar through the three inner rings and then Velcro straps can be adjusted for a perfect fit. ProCollar is available in sizes from XS through to XXL. To find the right size measure the length of their collar and match to the correct size required. If your dog or cat falls between two sizes then it is best to pick the large size.
