Zipp's hookless rims have more efficient resin distribution, which means lighter and stronger wheels. An outdoor test commissioned by Zipp showed the benefits of the Zipp TSE in practice. A total rider and wheel system weighing 85 kg requires 278 watts to maintain a speed of 40 km/h with the new 454 NSW with 25-mm tires. This is a saving of 10 watts compared to the previous 454 NSW model.
