First of all, I use this cleaner to periodically vacuum the pool. It does not run all the time. I replaced an old Hayward suction cleaner with this Zodiac. The price was a bit lower and it seems to climb the walls of my pool better. It has a number of adjustments to get the correct amount of suction to operate the cleaner properly. After playing around with the adjustment hardware I ended up connecting it directly to my skimmer suction without the hardware. This gave me the correct suction and speed for the cleaner. It comes in a nice carry box which I use to store the cleaner between uses. I also purchased 4 additional hoses so it would comfortably extend to the end of my 32' pool. Very happy with the purchase.

I've had this things Big Brother (MX8) for several years now and can easily say, when it's working, it does a great job. I find some of the parts wear out over a year or two but found them relatively cheap online and learned to replace them myself. These units spend a lot of time in the water, (I've got tree's) so yes, they get a substantial number of workouts. They tend to clog/hang-up when they climb the walls and run into oversized leaves and sticks at the pool edge, but I've learned to manage that. They are not maintenance free and if you have large debris in your pool, you should remove it first or be prepared to clean out the unit, (takes just a few seconds..but still). You cant drop these things in the water, regardless of whats in there, and walk away. This is a fantastic suction side pool cleaner. I am very satisfied with the quality and efficacy of the product. Goes up the vertical wall of the pool, covers the entire pool randomly, keeps all of the small debris out. I havent had any issues with having to unclog the cleaner. This is a great product.

Arrived very quickly. Factory packaging very sturdy. Simple to assemble and hook up. I am using it in a small shallow pebble finish pool with variable speed pump and it does a great job but doesn't climb out of the pool and break the water which is good. The MX6 appears to be very versatile and never gets stuck at the steps etc. It is not real fast, but that feature, as well as how high it climbs could be adjusted by the pump speed. Seldom get any leaves or solid debris in the pool so don't know how that would be on its efficiency. I replaced the old Hayward Navigator with this MX6 and happy with this product at a good price.
On receiving the cleaner inputnitnin the pool and it kept stopping and jamming. I ended up taking the cleaner apart to found that one of the bearings was not inserted correctly on the engine part and was causing the cleaner to stop. I fixed it as I am knowledgeable with the MX6 and MX8. Working good now. Apart from that the cleaner is as shown.
For the price the Zodiac MX6 delivered what i was looking for. I needed affordable pool cleaner that would pickup the find debri and scrub the floor and walls of the pool. I didn't know they sold a elite Zodiac MX6 that come with two rubber scrubbers that i needed on my new mx6. I was able to do a little research and found out i could buy the new elite part and it would fit on mine. $29 and one screw it was on and working. The only problem i have is my pump is getting to much air in the line which i can only see the leak is in the reconnecting hoses on the MX6.i figured that shutting off the bottom drains before hooking up MX6 seem to solve most of the problem. It worth the price and quality and i am very happy with my purchase.
Item exactly as described. It took a little adjustment of the flo but seems to work fine. Occasionally spends too much time on the lip of the pool. Eventually turns and heads back under water.
I have a pebble tec pool. That in itself creates wear and tear on any pool cleaner. The MX8 Elite worked well for the first year. I had to replace the tracks after 6 months. It wasn't until year 2 that the gears broke down. Tune up kit around $200. I've used it for 4 years now, and it has to be replaced. The housing wore down so much that the low volume suction isn't enough to turn the track. I would have replaced it with a new one, if I could find one for a decent price. Over $700 is outrageous!
In my opinion it is the best pool cleaner in it's price range. I switched the rubber scrubbing assembly for the one for MX8 Elite. Now the MX6 cleans my pool better than the Navigator I previously had. It never gets stuck on my pool drain like the Navigator did constantly. However it does get stuck on my stairs occasionally but most of the time it manages to free itself. I am really pleased with the Baracuda MX6 pool cleaner. Keep in mind that it does have problems with stuff getting clogged inside of it but it's very easy to remove and send it back on it's cleaning way. If you purchase the MX6 I would suggest that you also purchase the scrubbing assembly for the MX8 Elite so that you'll have the rubber feet to help clean your pool. Low Flow. Still trying to find the sweet spot with the flow rate, but this works better on low flow than others I've owned (Baracuda G3 and T5 & Hayward Navigator). Track system. The MX6 has tracks similar to that on a tank.This design is far better than the diaphragm valve models. I can't tell you how many diaphragms I've replaced over the years, at $40 a piece. Has not gotten stuck. So far, in the past few weeks and used daily, this thing does NOT get stuck on the stairs or in a corner like my old G3 and T5 did. They claim this thing will climb the walls, but I have yet to see that happen. Overall I'm very pleased with the performance. Time will tell how the parts hold up in a chlorine environment and daily use.
