Perfect rice everytime! I can't recommend this rice cooker enough. Whether you need to make 1 cup or 10. It makes perfect white rice, sticky rice, brown rice or mixed rice. I make cilantro lime rice in this and it turns out perfectly. Easy to clean. Sturdy and you don't need to understand how to make rice to make it perfect. Use the cup for the rice and fill to the line. That's it and you can make rice like the restaurants!

I love rice and I eat rice everyday for minimum of 2 meals a day. I normally eat short or medium grain rice. If you are looking for something that allows you to focus on other things while you cook, this is an excellent rice cooker to make your life easy. I program this if I know that I will forget to have rice ready for lunch. When I get my coffee in the morning, I set the rice cooker for lunch. If I want rice in the morning, I set the rice cooker before I go to bed for it to be done for breakfast. I have owned many rice cookers and this is by far my most favorite. I love the induction element, I notice that the rice cooks evenly and no burning on the bottom if the rice sits in the bottom of the pan for a few hours. The induction element really makes a difference ... MoreI love rice and I eat rice everyday for minimum of 2 meals a day. I normally eat short or medium grain rice. I love the induction element, I notice that the rice cooks evenly and no burning on the bottom if the rice sits in the bottom of the pan for a few hours. The induction element really makes a difference on the rice. It is fluffier and even cooked for each grain. It is more expensive than the traditional rice cookers, but if you have the budget, go for it. You can cook other kinds of rice in this … brown, sprouted, and others. The machine will adjust the cook time for the different types of rice. I have even made dishes in this cooker. For example one time I made sausage and rice. I put the uncooked cut up sausage with the rice and added some peas at the last 5 minutes to warm through. It was so easy and one dish steamed dish. I have also baked cakes in this. It does take some patience because it will take 3 cook cycles to get this to bake the batter, but I like the steamed cake especially for chocolate. It really intensifies the chocolate taste.

Worth Every Penny. I live in small remote Oregon mountain town on Idaho border. Having lived in Asia for many years I know how much properly cooked rice adds to a healthy diet and enjoyment. In my effort to make sushi using brown rice, I wondered if the pressure feature would help. It made a significant difference. Now I get great rice, nori, kombu, mirin, and rice vinegar by mail, and this fabulous rice cooker makes perfect rice each time. I clean the unit after each use, which takes about 30 seconds.

Love it. Shipping was much faster than anticipated. Arrived nicely packaged. Works flawlessly. The wife was apprehensive about purchasing the larger model and the higher end one at that. No regrets. Would not hesitate to purchase again. If the house burns down, this is one of the first appliances I replace. I don't own a toaster yet, but by God I have one of these.
Impeccable quality as I’ve come to expect from products manufactured in Japan. My Tiger rice cooker I’d used since my college days (17 years ago) recently found its way into my mother’s home, and this seemed like a perfect replacement. Given the increasing size of my immediate family, I opted for the larger version of this model. Needless to say, its performance has been stellar, and my son loves the little “twinkle twinkle” jingle it plays each time it starts (fun little touch). While the immediate cost is high, the product is manufactured in Japan. Hence, it will likely last for 2 decades or more if properly cared for. If you enjoy rice with and in your meals, this is an amazing machine that will not disappoint.
This might be my favorite kitchen appliance. Has steel cut oats ready for me every morning with the time feature, perfect steamed rice and a whole host of mixed meat and rice dishes from Arabic maqluba to Thai Khao Mom Gai (Chicken and rice). I did have an issue and, as it was under the warrantee, Zojurishi fixed and cleaned my machine covering all postage and costs.I do have a question: How can I use this to pressure cook tough meat for a stew or something like that without rice or grains? What setting would I use to get it to pressure? I would love this to totally replace my Instant-pot as the Zojurushi IH sits pride of place on my countertop and I have to fetch the Instantpot from the garage when I make stews or stocks.Would love to hear back!
Noticeable improvement compared to old rice cooker. As someone that makes rice twice a week this is definitely worth it. The texture quality of the rice is noticeable, and all grains are cooked perfectly and uniform. My previous rice cooker some grains would be dryer than others and you could tell which parts of the rice were cooked better. For this rice cooker all if it is in great quality. When it comes to the negatives this rice cooker does take around an hour (35 minutes on quick, but still much better than my previous rice cooker which took 20 minutes) to cook. You also have to clean more parts. However you can cook the rice and leave it on warm for up to 12 hours, and you can use and extended warming that lasts much longer. This allowed us to eat the rice in great condition without having to heat it up on a microwave the next day. Also the water to rice measurement is very forgiving, for my previous rice cooker if the water was just slightly above or below the correct amount it would be noticeable dry or soggy. In the end I would highly recommend this to anyone that cooks rice at least once a week for a family or twice a week for one or two people.
I’ve had this rice cooker for about two weeks now. I’ve used it probably every day except for two or three. It’s been a huge eye opener for my family and I. It takes a little longer to cook rice than I had hoped on the regular setting, but that is not a hinderance at all to us. It gives an accurate timer on when the rice will be done, so I just plan accordingly. Additionally, the timer function would be perfect for those who need to set it and forget it. The keep warm function is amazing. The rice stays moist and just as perfectly cooked and delicious as when it was first cooked. The cooked rice in this machine is so much higher quality than that of my cheapo Aroma machine that I had for years prior. I would recommend hands down over and over to anyone and everyone who is debating on investing in this purchase.
I have run a Japanese cooking meetup group in San Francisco for over 5 years. Although we often cook rice in a donabe, I always have trusted my Zojirushi rice cooker for sushi rice. Recently I upgraded my rice cooker to the 10 cup induction version. I've only used it once so far, but it did great and I expect it to be amazing. The build quality is wonderful. I got it for large amounts of rice, so I don't know yet how it will cook one or two cups of rice. It's noteworthy that if you think that this is the most amazing rice cooker on the market, that's not quite accurate. This is the top of the line American sold rice cooker, but Zojirushi has Japanese versions that pass the $1,000 range (see ... MoreI have run a Japanese cooking meetup group in San Francisco for over 5 years. I was initially a bit put off by the price, but now I feel it was worth it! making rice on the stove used to be a hassle, so much that I said I would probably only use it 2 times a week on the survey. but now, I've used it probably twice as much! the rice comes out perfect every time! the recommended maintenance is a bit intense, but its worth it to keep it in top condition.
