Had to pull out the base of the old clothes line, which is a big lump of concrete and "Heath Robinson" a new less massive hole so I could concrete a new base which needed a fair bit of concrete a bit of thought. Went OK. A tree from next door fell down and crushed the old one so may be useful to be able to remove or fold it if required. Infinitely better the the cheap one we bought to do the job for a few years. The Austral seems well designed and once the base is installed very easy to install. All in all we are very happy with it. Also good to see it is Australian made and owned. How often can you say that?

I just love my new Austral clothesline. After having a 25 year old clothes line that no longer would wind up and trying to replace the lines became a nightmare as the clips had all perished through the years, my new Austral rotary clothesline has made my life so much easier. It fits the queen size sheets and having 7 lines through out, I can fit 3 loads of washing with ease and the wind up handle is so easy to use. Finally being made in Australia made the decision a no brainer in choosing this brand.

The Austral Foldaway 45 Rotary Clothesline was easy to install to start with. The product is made of the best quality Australian metal. In comparison it costs a little more for this product than the imported ones but I always understand that we pay for quality, its durability outweighs any cheaper products that don't last long. It is definitely value for money. Love the smooth action and the colour. It holds a lot of washing.We still can't, however, get the shaft right down into the ground socket, which seems to have been squeezed a little by the concrete that holds it.The line works fine but it's not fully in the socket and thus is a little high for pegging. Not sure how secure this would be in a strong wind. Any advice?
This is our second Austral 45 metre foldaway clothesline we purchased from Lifestyle Clotheslines because we were impressed by both the clothesline and the service from LIfestyle the first time around. I'm not a fan of the foldaway type clothesline as there never seems to be enough space for a couple of washes, so this clothesline was the ideal solution for a small space. (I previously had another big brand name clothes line where the clip failed in less than 2 years and a replacement was very hard to source. The second clip was very difficult to install and also failed in a very short period of time.) So it was good to get a clothesline where the parts were heavy duty and will no doubt stand up to our harsh climate. As the product is so easy to use, I now raise and lower the line after each use, so it is very unobtrusive when not in use.It was also heartening to find that there is still one clothesline made in Australia to Australian standards and conditions.We also had excellent service from LIfestyle and the goods arrived on time and without fuss. The price was very competitive and I would not hesitate to recommend LIfestyle and Austral to anyone looking for a new clothesline.A great product from a company providing superior service.
Everything with the clothesline is great.Possibly need to provide a little better detail on installing the clothes line. Information was ok for those that understand the fundamentals of digging a hole and using concrete. But there are some people out there that may not be able to afford a tradie to install it and having instructions a little clearer may provide them the reassurance to get the job done on their own and saving them some money. Even you guys making a video and providing the link to that would be great. Cheers
The clothesline is very good in operation and fulfills its function while looking stylish. The Woodland Grey is a great colour. The installation instructions could be clearer however, particularly with regard to the height setting on the locking pin. I set it for my height, 187cm, or the middle position. It's way too high for my wife. What one needs to take into consideration of course is that it can be wound up considerably higher than the suggested height settings for installation so tall people aren't injured. It's something of a problem in our household where I am tall and my wife is short. That clothesline was a horrid green. Wall-mounted units are problematical for households where users vary greatly in height.
Our old rotary clothesline finally gave up the ghost. I wanted to replace it with a similar unit, that could also be removed in order to allow our grandchildren to play soccer or cricket when they visited. But importantly I wanted to purchase an Australian made unit. After viewing the Lifestyle Clothesline website and hearing Gary promoting Australian made clotheslines. I purchased a Austral Foldaway 45 clothesline which was delivered a week later. Following Austral's step by step printed and video instructions, I had no problems erecting the unit. Th only difficulty was the removal of the old clothesline which had been firmly concreted into position but persistence finally paid off.
Our old parallel non-retractable was held together with wire and cable ties. I don't know why i waited so long for this easy to install, dark grey height-adjustable Rotary Clothesline. It is smart, tidy, so easy to use and wind up. Tidies up our backyard giving us extra space. We get better sun, and wind drying even through the cold Canberra winter.
What a great clothesline. The extra lines allow you to hang more items and they are sturdy. You can easily rotate the line to hang clothes in different sections, when it's 'down'. Winding the line up and down is very smooth and very light. As I'm physically impaired at the moment, it was easy to use in every aspect.
