I just love my new Austral clothesline. After having a 25 year old clothes line that no longer would wind up and trying to replace the lines became a nightmare as the clips had all perished through the years, my new Austral rotary clothesline has made my life so much easier. It fits the queen size sheets and having 7 lines through out, I can fit 3 loads of washing with ease and the wind up handle is so easy to use. Finally being made in Australia made the decision a no brainer in choosing this brand.

Love the smooth action and the colour. It holds a lot of washing.We still can't, however, get the shaft right down into the ground socket, which seems to have been squeezed a little by the concrete that holds it.The line works fine but it's not fully in the socket and thus is a little high for pegging. Not sure how secure this would be in a strong wind. Any advice?

I just love my new Austral clothesline. I was going to buy another 'Hills' clothesline but read far to many bad reviews about them. Researched and found the 'Austral' brand which seemed to have a lot of good reviews. Those good reviews were a great help and we decided to buy an Austral. So glad we did as its a great purchase, very happy with it. Easy to use and very sturdy.
So far good. Relatively easy to install. The highest setting is pretty high but helps to have a tall husband and slightly sloping land. We haven’t needed to fold up and remove yet so can’t say how easy this step is. We bought a green colour which is fine but would have preferred green lines also rather than grey. Our clothesline took a while longer than suggested for delivery. A phone call helped to get things moving at the Austral end it seems.

(I previously had another big brand name clothes line where the clip failed in less than 2 years and a replacement was very hard to source. As the product is so easy to use, I now raise and lower the line after each use, so it is very unobtrusive when not in use.It was also heartening to find that there is still one clothesline made in Australia to Australian standards and conditions.We also had excellent service from LIfestyle and the goods arrived on time and without fuss. The price was very competitive and I would not hesitate to recommend LIfestyle and Austral to anyone looking for a new clothesline.A great product from a company providing superior service.
Everything with the clothesline is great.Possibly need to provide a little better detail on installing the clothes line. Information was ok for those that understand the fundamentals of digging a hole and using concrete. But there are some people out there that may not be able to afford a tradie to install it and having instructions a little clearer may provide them the reassurance to get the job done on their own and saving them some money. Even you guys making a video and providing the link to that would be great. Cheers
The clothesline is very good in operation and fulfills its function while looking stylish. The Woodland Grey is a great colour. The installation instructions could be clearer however, particularly with regard to the height setting on the locking pin. I set it for my height, 187cm, or the middle position. It's way too high for my wife. What one needs to take into consideration of course is that it can be wound up considerably higher than the suggested height settings for installation so tall people aren't injured. It's something of a problem in our household where I am tall and my wife is short. Also, it's difficult to get the levelling right using the mast in its socket, because it's not a tight fit and the mast will move several millimetres when you place a spirit ... I have purchased a second socket (they are not cheap, by the way, so it's MUCH better to get it right the first time) and I'm not looking forward to trying to get the clothesline level with the head attached. As another small point, some of the black plastic mouldings show imperfections on my line, but that doesn't affect operation at all. It's a huge improvement over the wall-mounted unit we've been using for some years, a unit which replaced a similar Hills unit which I destroyed by trying to hang a wet blanket on it. That clothesline was a horrid green. Wall-mounted units are problematical for households where users vary greatly in height.

In all honesty, I wasn't very happy with the range of clotheslines currently available - they are simply not built like the old Hills Hoists.I wanted the fixed in the ground rotary clothesline, but my husband was adamant that a fold away one would be better.It arrived quickly and looks nice. Although, online it claims to have a 20 year warranty, but in the box, there is only a 10 year warranty provided, which made me feel ripped off.The clothesline itself hangs clothes like it should, but the lines are very close together. Fine in summer, but I don't know that enough air will circulate around them in the cooler months.We bought the biggest size ... It's significantly smaller than our old clothesline. Basically, they've just added an extra row of clothesline between the first 2 rows, instead of adding more size to the clothesline. That middle row is completely useless - they clothes are too close together to dry unless it is a scorching summer day. Plus, the clothes get tangled together as they are in each other's way as soon as there is a breath of wind.I'll need to wash more often during the week, as I no longer have the line space to wait until I have a bigger load of washing. So an extra couple of loads a week will have an impact on our water consumption.We have a Queen sized bed, and they sheets fit absolutely fine, however, I really don't think you would fit a King sized sheet on here.Other than that, it'll do the job. Just wish it were bigger and the lines were further apart. Also confused about the 20 year warranty that was promised?
Simply and easy to install and take down when needed.I had a family hills hoist for over 54 years and finally the grandkids swung on it one too many times. Needed something smaller and easy to take out for those family get togethers. Great item after I figured out how to fold the canopy down. This is my only gripe, instructions not the easiest to understand on the picture. Maybe should add a website video and direction to view.
