I got the 1 1/2" for Mother's Day as a gift from my husband. So far, this flat iron has exceeded my expectations. First, it ibas beautiful shiny titanium plates that really press curly hair sleek straight. It goes up to 450 degrees and has a temperature dial. The iron is the perfect width for any hair length. For reference, I have medium length hair past my shoulders. It gets a lot of hair because the plates are kind of long about 5". My hair last about 1x week before it needs a wash. The plates get very hot from the outside and sides so please be careful. Other than that it surpassed my GHD platinum and Dyson iron in performance.

I would like to say to āanonymousā below with the scratched up plates that your iron is probably not an original thatās why the plates are scratched. You purchased from your hairdresser who probably purchased it from Amazon and got a knock off. Your hairdresser might not have known itās not an original because they look like the real thing. Always purchase your BaByliss products from the manufacturer!!!! I have my BaByliss flat iron for 8 years and itās still working great and the plates are definitely not scratched.
I love this straightener! I have super thick naturally straight hair but takes the frizz out of my hair and makes it so shiny!! My cord recently quit working and the straightener will only work when the cord is in certain positions. Like how an old charging cord does. So sad!! Trying to save up money for a new one, because I got the last one on sale!
This is the second time Iāve purchased this straightener. The last one I purchased 13.5 years ago. That is a CRAZY long time to own a straightener. Itās been used daily, withstood normal drops, and been plugged into more countries than I can count. I have A LOT of very very long and thick hair and this tiny little 1ā straightener still gets it flat or curly in just one pass. I like the titanium plates. Iāve never worried about it damaging my hair, and also that I donāt ever need to crank it up to the max heat for these results either. I hope this one lasts a good amount of time too. I have coarse, thick hair that frizzes easily. This flat iron glides through my hair with ease & leaves it looking and feeling smooth & silky. It heats up quickly & I like the longer cord on it. This iron is dual voltage, which makes it great for traveling. The disadvantage is it does not have auto turnoff. For the price, I would think they could incorporate the auto turnoff feature.I've only used it a few times but am pleased with it.
The hair straightener doesn't fully close making it differently to do small sections or if you have thin hair. There is nothing to show exactly what temperature it is. Be careful or you will burn your finger prints right off. I highly recommend a glove to hold down to straighten or curl your hair with this. It's not as smooth as my hairdressers was. It also wasn't $300 like hers was this is definitely used and not new
