Bought in sept 2021. Stopped working in January 2023. Used 3x per week. It started to slow down so I took it apart (which was no easy) and cleaned it. 3 grinds later and it was not grinding again. Took it apart again which was a pain as the housing comes off but you cannot easily clean the internal grind components such as the burr grinding elements. Additionally grounds would get stuck in the machine and when you pulled out the plastic container the grinds would slowly leak out. The cheap plastic container caused the grinds to stick to the top and top edges. Always made a mess. This coffee grinder is worth $35 in my opinion. Absolutely disappointed from top to bottom.

I bought this to go with a Rancilio Silvia. The Silvia was already more than I wanted to spend so this was on the cheap side of what's offered, but got good reviews so I took a chance on it. I've been using it for about a month.Pros:The Silvia is happy with the grind quality and I can get good shots. The process of putting it together is a little tricky and it appears I didn't get one of the gaskets "just right" and the grinder eventually chewed on it a little bit. However, it did grind very even coffee - for about 2 months. Then it started to grind slowly. I tried cleaning it. My wife tried cleaning it. But to no avail. We had been using the same organic (green packaging) coffee from Costco for years but this machine finally stopped working altogether. There didn't seem to be anything we could do and it was SO FRUSTRATING to have such a nice, expensive machine quit working. Not my first bean grinder but my first Baratza.Pro: I grind my beans between fine and medium for a Technivorm drip machine. The beans grind beautifully and my coffee tastes better than my previous bean grinder! It is also quieter.Grinding coffee beans are messy no matter what/where. Con: An odd design eIement. IDK why but there are open slots underneath the container that catches the ground beans and grinds fall through even after I seemingly clean the machine well, very messy. Not sure it's valid to remove a star for this but it's your call when you read my review.TY Seattle Coffee Gear....you educated me about coffee, and this is my second or third purchase from you!

We're no 3rd wave coffee analysts, but the grain seems consistant.Its mostly plastic except where it matters and it still feels solid. I like the no non-sense, and the simplicity of use. It gives you access to flavors that pre grinded coffee loose quite rapidly.I've removed a star, because except for the occasionnal French press we're always under 12 on the wheel. Out of 40. I just don't see the use of subtility between extra coarse and extra extra coarse. But maybe if I ever have a coffee room with every methods available...
