This is the best box set Catalyst Games has made so far. The models are amazing. The detail is phenomenal and the mold lines are minimal. The extras are also great. My favorite by far is the card stock buildings. The paper quality is great and as long as you take care of them they should last you a long time. This is a great way to get into Alpha Strike or just Battletech in general. You can't get a better deal for the price. Catalyst games continue to impress me with their model sculpts and their new releases. If you have any interest in Battletech or are just looking to expand your existing force, I recommend this box set whole-heartedly.

This is such a great version of battletech to play. Quick and easy with fun tactics and more realistic, immersive gameplay.The box includes 2 lances (8 IS mechs) and a star (5 clan mechs) which individually would cost over $60 and includes books and cards.
This is a great way to either get a start into the BT Universe or add to your growing number of mechs. I love the mix of mechs, and the paper buildings add nicely to the battlefield. I am a Classic player but really like seeing 2, 3 or 4 lances on the table at once! Enjoy!
I played Battletech (BT) when FASA brought it out. The Alpha Strike Box Set by Catalyst Games is an excellent upgrade to BT. We played two games within two hours with the models included in the boxed set and immediately started using the punch out markers in the set. I folded and assembled the card building sets included in the box set as well as the trees. The buildings assemble easily without needing glue. Just note that one set of tabs goes into the hard to see slots. The picture is from our game. The terrain and buildings is in 15mm scale so the trees are BIG. Battletech models appear to be 4-6mm in scale so the buildings are large and the trees taller than the card ones in the box set.
Great deal on a great game. The amount of miniatures you get for this price is great, then you add on terrain, a short story and battlefield support cards? Easy decision. If you've been thinking of playing battletech , this is a must get.

The miniatures are durable, but cost effective, and you get 13 of them in the box! Not only am I digging it, but my kids are too. There are lots of Variant rules that encapsulate the core of the old BT stratagem, without bogging it down in minutia. Playing the new rules has made me want to purchase more specialty mechs, and their accompanying mech-warriors. I got my eyes on Kerensky. Oh! Another cool thing: My teenagers weren't really sure what to think about a game that involved 3D (and not on the screen). The alpha strike box is a good box to have. Good for beginners wanting to get into alpha strike table top game play. The box has enough goods for the standard battletech as well. Beautiful cardboard terrain and paper buildings. Cards and core rule book included and are well made. Comes with one lance of Clans and a lance of inner sphere making it easy to make two teams to get right in the game out of the box. The box doesn't disappoint on battletechs, getting started or adding to one's collection . The box may seem expensive but comes with so many goodys. It is a must for all battletech pilots and warriors.
