I love that you can select between tea/ coffee for boiling and the keep warm function. Handy when you enjoy hot drinks frequently. The beeping noises are not a bother, we work shift work and have a little one and have found this not to be annoying. This was mentioned in another review, please do not let it deter you. A great addition to the kitchen.

This is a beeping machine that you can put water in. It's so loud. It beeps when you look at it. It beeps when you open the fridge. It beeps when you have a naughty thought. I got a phone call and it beeped 5 times. I think it might be trying to communicate. I can't make it stop.

Yes it boils water! But every time you touch the thing it beeps loudly. You turn it on it beeps, you press a button it beeps, when it finishes boiling it beeps, when you pick it up it beeps, when you put it down it beeps. It beeps beeps beeps. When you are making a coffee at 4am, the rest of the family will be unimpressed, not to mention the neighbours. Do not buy this product!

Kettle is perfect look for our kitchen, hard to find a “nice looking” kettle without black. Wasn’t fussed on the base idea and the need for all the different button selections. Have to admit I do like the maintain boil selection. The only annoyance is it beeps when it boils, beeps when you take it off the base and beeps when you put it back on, minor but would be nice if you could turn that off.
This kettle beeps when you plug it in, when you lift it off the base, when you put it down on the base, will beep 5 times when if boils and then any time you want to push any of the buttons.Just to make a basic run of the mill cup of tea with will beep 11 times throughout the process. That's before pressing any of the additional feature buttons. We called Breville to ask how to turn the beeps off and they say you can't. The beep is loud and very unpleasant. I do not recommend this kettle for that reason alone. It is beautiful and the features are lovely, I am sad that I won't be able to use it because it's exactly what I was looking for otherwise.
Love how pretty it looks in my apartment- really bright and sleek. I love how I can choose the temperature too! The only thing I worry about is it's a bit difficult/confusing to turn off the 'keep warm' setting, so I worry if I leave it might burn. I turn it off at the wall before I go out just in case.
There are these loud beeps everytime you lift it up or put it back or if you touch the buttons. It is unreasonably loud and the is no way to turn it off?! That is so stupid!Great colour. Well made. Temperature functionsare nice. Operates rather quietly.
Bought this to replace our intermittent DeLonghi multi-temp kettle that was maybe 6+yrs old, it usually worked but occasionally didn't unless you lifted it and replaced it a few times. The biggest problem was the DeLonghi's paint was peeling and flaking off and we didn't want paint falling into our tea or cooking. After she researched various kettles I grabbed this Breville, the price was good.Brought it home, read the instructions, boiled its maximum water level twice to rinse out any residual manufacturing chemicals. So far so good.A few hours later she wanted a cup of tea and for the life of us we could not get the kettle to start boiling. We re-read the instructions over and over, in case we were not operating the kettle properly (??!!), the various buttons ... MoreBought this to replace our intermittent DeLonghi multi-temp kettle that was maybe 6+yrs old, it usually worked but occasionally didn't unless you lifted it and replaced it a few times. So far so good.A few hours later she wanted a cup of tea and for the life of us we could not get the kettle to start boiling. We re-read the instructions over and over, in case we were not operating the kettle properly (??!!), the various buttons lit up correctly, but the kettle refused to heat. After 10 minutes we gave up. I packed it up in the box and took it back the next day for a full refund (thanks JB!) and purchased a different Breville kettle (the basic glass one). It was dearer but I figured a simple ON/OFF switch "should" never be a problem ...Afterwards I grabbed the old DeLongi and scrubbed off all the paint using a S/S scourer back to its bare stainless steel (surprisingly easy), and it looked like new. When she came into the kitchen she asked why I bought TWO kettles! If you happen to score a working kettle and it keeps working, great. Unfortunately our experience has dented our confidence in Breville "hi-tech" appliances.
We bought this kettle a few days ago and still can't swallow swallow the pointless and annoying and loud beeps that it produces. The beeps serve no purpose. They confirm that a button color has changed which you can see and they confirm that you have lifted or replaced the kettle on the stand which you know you did. For this reason do not buy this kettle as it will drive you mad. I am being very restrained in my review.
Just bought this nice kettle, the whole family is complaining about the loud piercing beep. When you lift the kettle off the base, what is the purpose of the beep? Think about that. What information is it telling me that I don't already know. Replacing on base the same. There is no instruction to disable the beep.Come on Breville's Australian engineers, tell me how to silence it, or I'll have to return it.A nice product, spoilt.
