Whenever we purchase shoes I always ask my husband, "how do they feel?" His reply is the standard, "Ok. Was I surprised when his response this time was, "They feel great!" With John's expertise we were able to find the right shoe that came with the perfect insert for my husband's narrow foot, but with a very high arch on one foot, and a normal arch on the other.Don't know how he did it, but John used the scan to find the perfect shoe. We thank John for his knowledge, and patience as we both tried shoes that would work for our needs. We'll be back again.

I purchased these shoes less than a month ago from today (08.04.22). Best running shoes that have ever bought. They lived up to all the hype about running on hard services like concrete and asphalt. Very comfortable when landing on feet in stride. Other shoes haven't had that support and feel. I have bought Hoka, Nike and Adidas shoes, and none have come close. I highly recommend these shoes if you run on sidewalks or pavement. I search for other surfaces, but COVID prevents me from running on rubberized high school tracks. The are bit pricey, but we'll worth it as a great investment to having a great run without all the pain afterwards. Try to find DSG coupons online to help bring the price down. Happy and safe running!

I am a Brooks fan, the only running shoe I will wear because of its fit and design that helps with my high arch. The Ghost is my go to shoe and the Glycerine is my long run shoe. When I saw the Glycerine 20's were coming out, I immediately had to get a pair. I loved the previous version. I loved to look of the shoe (triple black) and the fit felt like my old Ghosts, almost like a race shoe. So far so good. But then I wore them on my long run. Unlike my previous Glycerine's, the 20's had no cushioning or bounce. It took a toll on the bottom of my feet. I purchased a padded insole to help absorb some of the shock, and tried that out last night, but it had limited impact. It almost feels like I am running in my work dress shoes. I was told that the shoe takes a while to break in so I will continue wearing them hoping that I start to feel some shock absorbtion. In my case, the impact is felt in the ball of my foot. I hope this changes because I like the fit of these. Ironically, my new Ghosts feel like my old Glycerines and my new Glycerines feel like my old Ghosts. As of right now, the Glycerine 20's are not what I had hoped.

I have to admit, I have not found previous models of Brooks running shoes to suit my training style, but that has all changed with the Glycerin Stealthfit GTS 20. These shoes fit great right out of the box. I have grown really fond of the snug, sock like fit. However, these also feature very plush ankle padding to help alleviate the rub you may experience from other shoes with this elastic upper lining. They are super lightweight, perfect for the short distance runs I usually partake in. That being said, the overall cushion and responsiveness lead me to believe this shoe will help reduce fatigue on your longer, 10+ mile, runs. Although the Stealthfit material has a ‘stretchy’ fit, the overall fit of the shoe provides stability and limits excessive movement. I'm 56 years old, 6'1 205lbs. Run/Bike/Swim. I've been running in Bondi shoes for about 2 years now, and have had multiple Achilles issues when using those shoes. I think it's due to the low heal drop and maybe how cushioned/unstable they are. I did a lot of reading and also went to a local runners shoe store to see if the articles panned out.Boy did they. This shoe (in wide) is so perfect for my wide, high arch feet. To me they feel just about a cushioned as the Bondi, but in a supportive way. They are also very airy feeling. Light. My feet no longer underpronate so badly that my pinky toe and outer edges of my feet hurt. Also, with the higher heal drop my achilles pain has finally stopped. I'm back to running my long distances without much if any pain. While neutral, these shoes keep your feet stable. I notice no outer edge tread wear like I did in my Bondi's. And boy was it bad on the Bondi shoes! I would wear out under my pinky toe area and also the outer heal. On the Brooks the wear pattern looks pretty even!I also suffer from Metatarsal pain. With these shoes, even with the higher heal drop, I don't have any. That's amazing. I had Metatarsal pain with the Bondi's, even though they are supposedly higher cushioned. My thoughts on shoes has completely changed. I purchased another pair.
These shoes are truly max cushion shoes. Unlike some other so called max cushion shoes, you can feel the plushness during the run. The ride is really comfortable, yet not so soft that it feels like you're running on sand. Although super comfortable, I wouldn't say they are responsive. They actually feel slower, but that's OK. I wanted these for recovery. The fit is completely different that the 19. In my normal size of 9 Wide, the 19 was snug, to the point of having to cut slits in the upper around both sides of the ball of my foot and wear super thin socks. With these modifications, the shoe was comfortable and provided good support up to around 325 miles. After that they became very non responsive. The 20, is actually very wide, even for a wide width. Needed to go back to a cushion sock, custom insoles and a toe bandage on one big toe to eliminate rubbing. Now that I have the fit issues resolved, the shoes provide a lot of cushion and my knees don't hurt. If you run on hills, these are probably the best downhill shoes I have ever run in.
The nature of job required consistent travel for the last 5o years. Consequently I was subjected to constant change in running conditions, surfaces including a wide variety of treadmills, from horrible to excellent. Like many who may read this review , I have owned most brands of running shoes. While always open to innovation, I still keep my buying options open but have established Brooks as my preferred brand and the glycerin shoe in the Brooks product line. The glycerin 20 is INMO the best so far in the line and has exceeded my expectations after 200 miles. The fit, cushion, interior and exterior structure support my aging muscle skeleton body and the wide fit and toe box accommodates my higher arches perfectly.
I used the shoes as my daily wear. Mostly walking and standing. I bought them due to the combination of moreCushion without sacrificing support. The. I shook was great, however the support on the outside edges is insufficient for my. I have had multiple surgeries in my knees and after an hour or two in these, with the give in the outer soles, my knees were in pain. The Adrenaline GTS 22 model I had before do not cause the knee pain, so I switched back to them. It's my own fault for trying to improve what I had... don't fix it if it ain't broken!
I purchased the Glycerin 20 GTS with the hope it would mimic walking on air. This model is sadly disappointing from the upper to the midsole! This shoe is bigger than the previous model with lots of room in the toe box, I have a large foot 13 borderline wide and these fit me huge. I can’t imagine someone with a more narrow foot trying to swim in these. The midsole was a huge let down, if you’re expecting zoomx type performance keep looking. If you’re looking for an easy day recovery shoe I’d suggest New Balance fresh foam or Nike invincible run 3’s over the Glycerin 20. The updated foam feels dull and brick like on foot. My Pegasus 39’s have more give than these. So much wrong with this shoe, hopefully Brooks can figure things out with the next model.
I was on my fourth pair of Ghost 11 Wide, as recommended by a local Runner's Store. The first pair were from the Runner's Store,, appreciating the time they spent with me. The next three pair were from Altitude Sports. Fast forward to now. I went back to the same Runner's Store and was told I should have been in in a Ghost 11 1/2 Regular - not the 11 Wide as they originally recommended. The Wide were "sloppy" and "too short".For the record, I have been a 10 1/2 in a normal shoe most of my life. Being gun-shy. I decided to go to two competing Runner's Stores and received further conflicting recommendations (11 1/2 Wide & 12 Regular). So confusing and so disappointing considering they were the experts commenting on the same shoe! So confusing and so disappointing considering they were the experts commenting on the same shoe! Then my senses took over - Altitude Sports have me covered if they don't fit - they will exchange them - no problem. Most of the Runner's Stores had to order in - Altitude had them in stock. And so, I went crazy, instead of getting yet a fifth pair of the Ghost in grey (being the only colour wide seems to come in) I went for the Brooks Glycerine in a 11 1/2 Regular (as they are spec'd slightly wider than the Ghost). A perfect fit - and received them in TWO days instead of two weeks from the Running Stores, oh, and they are NOT grey!
