Chanel - Rouge Allure - Intense Lip Colour - 817 Rouge Splendide - 0.12 oz

This shade is limited edition and it is part of the No 5 collection. Packaging: absolutely gorgeous, it has the No 5 logo on it and you are paying extra for that. Shade and finish: it is a warm red, quite opaque with a satin finish. It does not feel drying on the lips and it lasts a long time. I apply it with a lip liner, but it can work without it too. Overall: beautiful shade, good formula, but unfortunately it's very expensive. I took a star off for the price. It is Chanel and No 5, you are paying for that, but it is not a mind blowing, best in class formula. I believe it can be even better.

Anyway, I fell in LOVE and had to go back for more. I ordered 127 Rouge D’Or (a bright blue-based red that I’m wearing in an attached photo) and 137 Pourpre D’Or (a deep burgundy/wine). Both have subtle shimmer that catches the light in an understated, yet elegant way. If you can afford the price tag of $45 a tube, I’d definitely recommend picking one up. They truly are special. The packaging alone is just gorgeous with the sleek black tube and gold edges. And the mechanism that opens it is so unique. The tube is inverted. You push down on the top of the tube (which is actually the bottom) and it pops up to reveal the lipstick. I am reviewing 185 Stillness and 186 Sensible which are new releases for summer 2018. I had a hard time choosing between these two colours so naturally ended up with both. Between the two, I prefer Sensible which is a light-medium rose, just on the threshold of a rosewood but not quite dark enough. Stillness is also beautiful though, a petal English rose pink and I'm happy that I got both! Try formula of these is good, coverage is not completely opaque but can be built up to opacity with a few swipes. Longevity is decent and much better than the which I dislike. The scent is subtle and not noticeable to me anyway and they are comfortable on my dry lips.

This color is such a good fit for a night out, especially during fall or winter weather. It gives your lips a sheer, plumping, and full effect. Pigmentation is impressive and buildable. I think price is justified given the brand, the packaging, and the pigmentation.

This lipstick is one of the butteriest, softest feeling on the lips that I've ever used! This is what I love about it most besides the packaging, which is both sophisticated and just plain fun at the same time - I'm a little obsessed with the way that you can click it like a pen and the gold inner tube slides out! I have it in the shade Rouge Angelique, which a peachy nude that is so spring and natural enough that I can put it on without a mirror. This lipstick will forever lives in my purse now! I only docked the star because for how much you pay, the lipstick is smaller than other lipsticks of the same price, and you have to reapply quite a bit throughout the day, so it won't last very long, sadly.

I absolutely love Chanel lipstick! I am kinda obsessed about how fancy this lipstick is. When you open the box you see a classy black velvety case in which there is this lipstick. The description is 100% accurate where it says "an ultrafine, melt-away, second-skin-like texture." The texture of this lipstick is unbeatable. It doesn't feel heavy or gloopy on your lips. In fact I can't feel it at all. I got shade 58, Rough vie, which is a very warm-toned, dark plum with a satin finish. It’s good colour to wear on daily or a date. The texture of this lipstick very creamy and formula is pigmented. It can stay fresh on my lips for good 3-4 hours.
