Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour - Vibrante

This is the first time I’ve tried Chanel’s limited-edition Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour. This lipstick from Chanel’s 2020 Holiday Collection has the Rouge Allure line’s intense color and signature creamy, hydrating formula, but with tiny micro glitter added for a little holiday sparkle. Don’t worry, you don’t feel the glitter at all. There’s no gritty feeling on the lips whatsoever. I wouldn’t even call it glitter. It’s so fine that it really just gives the lipstick a luminosity that catches the light as you move. It’s not really “glittery”. Anyway, I fell in LOVE and had to go back for more. I ordered 127 Rouge D’Or (a bright blue-based red that I’m wearing in an attached photo) and 137 Pourpre D’Or (a deep burgundy/wine). Both have subtle shimmer that catches the light in an understated, yet elegant way. If you can afford the price tag of $45 a tube, I’d definitely recommend picking one up. They truly are special. The packaging alone is just gorgeous with the sleek black tube and gold edges. And the mechanism that opens it is so unique. The tube is inverted. You push down on the top of the tube (which is actually the bottom) and it pops up to reveal the lipstick. I absolutely love Chanel lipstick! I am kinda obsessed about how fancy this lipstick is. When you open the box you see a classy black velvety case in which there is this lipstick. The description is 100% accurate where it says "an ultrafine, melt-away, second-skin-like texture." The texture of this lipstick is unbeatable. It doesn't feel heavy or gloopy on your lips. In fact I can't feel it at all. I got shade 58, Rough vie, which is a very warm-toned, dark plum with a satin finish. It’s good colour to wear on daily or a date. The texture of this lipstick very creamy and formula is pigmented. It can stay fresh on my lips for good 3-4 hours.

Beautiful colour but sub standard quality

This purchase was a bit of a gamble. Lipstick was bought to replace a Chanel lipstick that has been discontinued.Thrilled with the colour, genuinely credible replacement for a favourite lipstick.However, the lipstick snapped at its base as soon as I attempted to use it. I've been buying Chanel lipsticks for over 30 years and this is the first time this has ever happened to me. I can't return it because I did try to use it but as soon as it snapped, I gave up. I will use a lipstick brush with it but not ideal. My brush technique needs a bit of work.Such a disappointment. Essentially, fab colour, sub standard bullet.

Captivating!

I have always worn neutral (nude, pale etc) lipstick, but was enticed by the colour of Pirate. Its well named in a captivating way (more the romantic notion of Pirate) than the marauding buccaneers of the sea! Definitely expect a Red Letter Day with this shade of red. I always prefer the Rouge Allure range in Chanel as the lipstick glides on smoothly, providing good coverage and moisturising lips (once my makeup is on, I do not like to retouch it - I expect it to last). However, if eating and drinking, it does gradually wear-off, just like other lipsticks albeit some colour remains on the lips. Perhaps lipcoat would help (Ive never used it). Certainly applying lipliner prior to application helps longevity of the colour. Chanel isn't the same quality as in previous years

I've been devoted to Chanel lipstick for decades because it doesn't dry my lips and has a wonderful luminescent quality. The info on this product states "luminous," but it isn't. Having purchased a new one and tried it 2x, I am returning it because it is not what I expected: it dries my lips and makes them uncomfortable. If you want to apply chalk to your lips, this is the product you want.

Queen of River Run

Always wonderful. My hardest problem is getting orange reds and not blue reds. When Chanel does it right, it’s great. Sometimes they miss it altogether and then I am stuck. I have worn Chanel for MANY YEARS and now I don’t want anything else( but I have tried). They discontinued #64 First Light and I am still looking for a replacement. Oh well!

not for sensitive lips

There’s some ingredient(s) in here that my lips do not agree with. It’s incredibly drying. Even with a lip balm underneath, the lipstick for me is still violently drying. The formula isn’t very creamy, it’s thin and cheap, my revlon lipsticks are more luxurious than this. The colors are absolutely stunning but unfortunately this particular lipstick formula is extremely damaging. My lips were peeling for days. Also the packaging feels super light and cheap. It isn’t the same feel as their blush packaging. This packaging looks on point, but the moment you pick it up it just feels cheap. I love Chanel beauty products but unfortunately this particular lipstick formula did not work out for me. Returned. I’ll just stick with Chanel’s lip glosses as those are not damaging to my lips and also have nice color selections and shine. Currently only own the noir gloss from the limited noir et blanc collection which I hear is the most similar to their former lip gloss formula.
