This is not just a USB handset, it's one with great extras. Out of the box the first thing to notice is that it's not small and the second is that it has a stand. As soon as I plugged it into a USB port it did a firmware update. With myself I have a Skype account and It recognised it.Using the Echo test, I found the handset to be great using it normally and hands free and audio quality very good (The EQ button gave 4 option for audio out). The final test was to talk with someone and it passed with full colours.

Do not use the hub software on the Surface Pro 4, you audio will fail to load on reboot. It used to be that the hub software just affect the handset device (preventing the audio components for the phone from loading).So I find myself installing the hub software periodically to get firmware updates for the phone and then swiftly uninstalling.I test multiple soft clients (Avaya and Microsoft), however, I cannot test while I don't have the hub software loaded. So I am stuck just using SfB for now because of this issue, so I cannot give a reasonable review on the Avaya side.
