Company was recommended by a coworker. I wear them at work and truly this will enhance my ability to preform on the job. The coverage over the eye is excellent. The lenses prove a sharp and clear picture even in the sunniest conditions. Glare off the water is gone. The nature of my job requires physical activity, and the venting ports prevent fogging on the lenses like nothing I have ever experienced. Would highly recommend these to anyone who is serious about eyewear in relation to waterways. ”Pleasantly surprised” is a term often used in my work but rarely achieved. This is one of those moments. Thanks Costa!

Bough the new style Diego about two months ago. At first they seem too light compared to my other Costas( this is my 4th pair over the last 10 -12 years). But hey, lighter is not bad if they keep the same quality. 6 weeks into ownership they are already missing one logo on the side and the lenses is very scratched. To put it in context my last pair, a set of clear double haul have the two lenses cracked. Yes broken in half and still no scrashes. I'm able to see better thru an old cracked Costa lenses than this new junk. The company was bought by Luxotica and let me tell you they instate bottom shelf quality in them. The hinges are 3D printed with visible excess material. will try to get them return. definitely no buying Costa ever again. San to see them falling like ... These glasses are (were) the best glasses I have ever bought and worn. I wore them constantly and especially when I was saltwater fishing. Blue frames with blue lens, nice. Unfortunately.... I was in the ocean and a wave hit me from behind and knocked my glasses from me.. I mean, I had the on with a “secured strap” and just like that... GONE... in to Davey Jones’ Locker! To be never seen again. Blue lens, blue frames plus blue ocean water equals -$279!For those debating getting them because of the price, buy them! The enhancement of how the lens brings out the colors is awesome. The grass is greener and you can tell (sometimes) where the dead grass is by bringing out the brown/dead grass. The ocean water is brighter. If I can rewind time to NOT be in that ... MoreThese glasses are (were) the best glasses I have ever bought and worn. Two things, one good and some bad (respectfully): The glass is very clear and seems to be durable more so than the more common plastic lenses (whatever they're made of). I've found this out due to the fact that the frame is sub-par and allows the set to fall off of your cap.... very easily. I'm a "glasses on the cap kinda person" so this is my habit while they're not in use. Additionally the frame extends far enough past my ears to interfere with my cap making them sit weird on my somewhat crooked nose. This would not be a problem but at the tip of the ear-piece there's this mud-grip-esque rubber piece that makes them just thick enough to achieve this misalignment for me. The frame isn't as durable as I had hoped because after they fell of my cap there are now ... Completely my fault on all of this (I should use the wire thingy I also ordered for the glasses) but I thought this review may help in deciding on a pair of Costa Diego's.
I bought these glasses about 9 months ago. I got them because I had heard about Costa’s great customer service. About two months ago I had an accident at my workplace. I work in a metal roofing manufacturing facility and a pack of metal slid off a truck and hit me in the face. Luckily, I had my Diego sunglasses on and the frame protected me from getting hit in the eye. However, the impact caused my glass lense to shatter in the frame. I reached out to Costa to purchase a replacement lense and their only offer was to buy a new pair of sunglasses at a discounted rate. Unfortunately, I cannot financially afford to purchase a whole new pair of glasses. I cannot complain about the glasses at all! They undoubtedly protected me from losing vision in that eye. I understand the performance first approach that’s mentioned in the description here but in my opinion that was not accomplished well. The light/thin/cheap feeling materials (relative to my other pairs of costas that I’ve had over the years: tuna alley, cortez) paired with the lose feeling hinges really gave me the impression that they were not well constructed and wouldn’t be up for much abuse. In fact, I actually thought something was wrong with them when I pulled them out of the case for the first time. I’ve had durability issues with costa in the past (partly what I believe weak construction / partly hard use by me if we’re being fair) so I just didn’t feel comfortable starting off with such a (IMO) weak feeling frame. That being said optics were great as usual ... MoreI understand the performance first approach that’s mentioned in the description here but in my opinion that was not accomplished well. That being said optics were great as usual and we’re just like my previous pairs from what I gathered by walking around for a few. Nothing I’ve personally tried rivals costa in terms of clarity.Overall, maybe theyd be okay if you’re looking for a 2nd pair to switch it up the style occasionally but for me with the price tag as high as it is I really wanted something that I know would go the distance. I got 2+ years out of my tunas before the lenses cracked after they fell of the back of my head when I was taking a sip out of my water bottle. The hinges got lose so they came right off. I feel like the same thing would happen with these but sooner. Sent these back gonna try another pair.
This is the first pair of Costa’s I have ever owned. IT WILL NOT be the last. I am a retired Law Enforcement Officer and have always purchased the other major brand and was in the process of purchasing a pair of RX sunglasses w/ them, but I received a advertisement on a website about Costa (Divine Intervention) and the price was the same and I just like the design of the Diego’s better. The “engineering” is amazing, with the “vents” in the front that allows air-flow to the channel on each side that channels sweat away, to the weight, case, cleaning cloth. Costa hit a HOMERUN in my opinion! And the clarity is by far superior to the other brand. So glad the advertisement “popped” up. These are really great sunglasses. THANKS Costa
I bought my Diego glasses a year ago. Clear, crisp detail, eye relief from the elements.Unreal pair of glasses, unfortunately the warranty sucks. I need a replacement arm and none to be had. Super hard to get warranty, once sold. My pair, the arm piece at the point of downward bend by the ear broke clean. The point where the lanyard would attach to.Love the glasses, unfortunately expensive and lack of customer service makes for a bad taste about Costa manufacturers.Maybe in the future have extra arms/parts for sale or ready to ship to customers that have paid premium and need warranty.
Costa quality has taken a dive in recent years. I've owned three pairs of Harpoon, moved on to Rafael and now these Diegos. The overall quality of build is terrible on these. The hinges feel like they're barely holding and the plastic feels chinsy to where I feel like I need to be careful putting them on. The hinge inserts in the plastic creak and squeak when opening them like they're screaming for help. And I don't know whats going on with these plastic "vent" inserts but they stick out making the glasses look even cheaper than they already feel. Def not worth what I paid for them. These are def not built in America. Do yourself a favor and head over to Oakley where they still build quality glasses built in the USA, especially if you are a veteran, use Oakley SI. ...
