The scent throw in these candles is AMAZING! And, on top of that, they have so many different scents! This one I tend to think leans more towards the Philosykos scent… but it is just devine! Sure, they cost a bit more than candles you would find at Target, but you need to remember, it’s QUALITY vs QUANTITY!! I can honestly say that I don’t need to light the candles in order to smell them. I actually just opened this new candle (and thought why not review it), but it is easily smelled just by walking by. When it is lit, you can smell it almost on the entire floor it is on. I want to put a little warning out there… for those who are slightly new with candles, you MUST LET THE FIRST BURN (and pretty much all of them, really) GET THE ENTIRE TOP LAYER MELTED! If not, the candle will tunnel, and you’ll lose a lot of wax that would have otherwise burned. I had ruined several candles that way, and there is really no way back from it. I recommend these candles to everyone I know! They also make great gifts for any occasion! Teachers, friends, mothers, fathers, OLDER kids…. It’s a classic and wonderful gift! I’ve never gotten a complaint!

This is the third Diptyque candle I have purchased. The other two were 2-3 years prior. This recent candle, all the same scent (Feu de Bois), equals failure. The candle has no scent! Either freestanding or upon burning! I feel totally violated and scammed. I know there is much chaos in France and it obviously has affected this manufacturer! This is not the “quality” I have come to expect from Diptyque!

This is truly an exquisite candle and fragrance, and I echo the many other reviews that say it's a great compliment to those who love Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille fragrance. It is indeed a bit less sweet than the TF fragrance (though obviously the TF will smell different on each person's skin) and perhaps more woody overall, but still closely in that family so if that scent is your happy place and money isn't an object, this candle is definitely for you.The scent travels nicely and I find I don't even need to light it if I sit it on my desk or night stand. If I want to fill a room, lighting for 30 minutes to an hour is more than enough. Personally, this candle was definitely a splurge for me and I probably won't make it a frequent purchase for that reason and I find ... MoreThis is truly an exquisite candle and fragrance, and I echo the many other reviews that say it's a great compliment to those who love Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille fragrance. Personally, this candle was definitely a splurge for me and I probably won't make it a frequent purchase for that reason and I find myself lighting other things and preferring to keep Narguile on the desk or night stand where I can simply smell it waft from a few feet away without burning it. It's just personally hard to justify the cost of 68 dollars for 6.5 oz of candle. While the scent is magnificent, the candle doesn't perform any more admirably than say a LAFCO that sell 6.5 oz for 42 dollars and 15.5 oz for 65 and will burn for ~90 hours or other comparable high end brands that generally go for ~30 per 6.5 (I consider the extra ten dollars on the LAFCO to go towards the glass jars they use) so if you're hoping for something other worldly for the extra money, you're not necessarily going to find it--law of diminishing returns and all. I say that goes for all of the Diptyque candles which generally smell amazing--my other favorite scent is Benjoin which is equally exquisite and hard to find a remotely comparable replacement for in other brands. Dyptyque really knows their fragrance--there's no denying that. If you're on a budget and deciding whether it's really worth it, I'd just say do your candle research, try to smell as much as you can (nothing's worth than splurging on a candle only to find out you don't actually like how it smells) and do what makes you comfortable. When I only burn these candles on the 30 minute end of the spectrum, of course it becomes more prone to tunneling which is to be expected due to the size of the jar. Generally you should burn things about an hour for each inch in the jar diameter varying somewhat depending on the type of wax. I'm just being stubbornly cheap about this ultra pricey candle wanting to squeeze as much joy out of the scent it offers as I can. Fortunately, the smell really does carry well enough that I don't usually *need* to burn it for more than 30 minutes or so anyway and the tunneling it eventually creates doesn't bother me much as all you have to do for any tunneling candle is stick it in the oven set at 175 degrees for a wee 3-5 minutes and boom the surface is perfect again without affecting the candle body.Other than those considerations, there's nothing bad to say about this candle. It's warm and utterly unisex; a little woody, a little spicy, a tinsy bit floral, and a lot sexy and mysterious. Narguile hits a note that's not as basic as Amber or Vanille but is a bit darker and more sultry than a primary wood like Feu de Bois or Santal. The scent is truly magnificent and is a must buy for those who are fans of the scent family and whose wallets it doesn't make cry.

I am a massive Diptyque fan and absolutely love their candles. Like many people, I started with the baises candle( which I absolutley adore ) and then moved to feu de bois , roses and benzoin, followed by the jasmine and the sandalwood .I saw the Narguile on the shelf on a recent trip and decided to give it a sniff . It smelt a bit like my beloved benzoin candle but a bit smoother and smokier ? I could not put my finger on what it was but decided to buy it beacuse it smelt so good . At home I quickly went to light it and as I sat there inhaling the wonderful aroma I realised what it was …tobacco! Thats what was adding the extra dimension.I mean you can google the notes before you buy the candle but I often like to smell them blindly to preventt prejudgemrnnt based ... MoreI am a massive Diptyque fan and absolutely love their candles. The vanilla , honey and tobacco are completely harmonious and the added spices and further depth to this candle . I honestly believe it is one of Diptyque’s . It works very well in the colder months but would not disappoint on an evening all yer round. Im in love , and cant wait to burn it again !
When I first bought this candle I loved it straightaway, it is very like a real fire, gorgeous and smokey. Perfect for me, as I quite like florals but prefer more warm, smokey, woody or musky scents. good throw too. Only downside it it makes my boyfriend cough a bit so I can't burn it when he's around. The grey jar is really lovely and chic. And of course like all Diptyque candles it lasts really well, although it needs to be left burning longer than the 190g size to prevent tunnelling.
The hunt is over, this is the one. This is such a comforting, mood lifting scent, even when it’s not lit it throws a little kiss of burnt honey your way. The perfect blend of tobacco and warm honey, it’s woody but also a touch sweet. Perfect for nights alone with a book or some records crackling in the background. If you daydream about log cabin in the woods livin’ I think this might be for you. Absolutely worth the splurge!
I love Diptyque for it's quality long lasting scents and this candle certainly doesn't disappoint. If you want your room to smell of Fresh French lavender, this is the one for you. Not overpowering, not old lady lavender smelling but a sophisticated, clean summer scent (or all year round if you're like me.Burns evenly. Makes for a fantastic gift even if you're unsure of the fragrances the recipient may like. This is a safe bet.
I've bought MANY Diptyque candles over the years and when I came across this one I was surprised to find that they don't have a bigger size as it's simply stunning. Diptyque had a limited candle for its 60th birthday called Paris (not to be confused with City collection) and this Narguilé is what I liken it too most. It's soft delicate but fills a room and is very feminine and uplifting. It's comforting and I would say a "feel good" candle, I have it in my office to start my day for that reason. You can definitely smell the honey and even though I don't think it's in there a bit of jasmine, honeysuckle. Think of the sunsetting on a warm evening on holiday. Super sophisticated and I would say an underrated scent from Diptyque! Wish they would create a 300g size..
Fig is my favourite note for home fragrance and I was so excited to try this out. When smelling the candle itself, it smells clean, green and fresh but in my opinion, the projection (particularly for what you pay) is absolutely not up to scratch. I bought the small size for my bathroom, and I could barely smell it in this 3 x 2 space. I compare it to the projection of the Baies candle which fills my entire home with it’s scent, and that I can smell even when not burning.Won’t be repurchasing. Get the small size and test it in a small space before committing to the whole thing.
I have lusted after this candle since the day I bought my first Diptyque 190g Ambre 8 years ago and today was the day it arrived! I saved my Indulge points and leveraged the SpaceNK save £20 per £100 so I did well on price. It is a real statement piece, the vessel is stunning as everyone knows and it is finished perfectly. To those saying it wasn’t - send it back! It’s too expensive not to be perfect. The throw is good and can be smelt in my living room. The box is also lovely to keep and will omit a nice scent for a few days. Expensive, but a statement piece for me and has finished my living room shelves off perfectly.
