Already have the 3000 and its a fine machine I wanted something a little more powerful and the 4000 fits the bill, I recently bought a Dremel Routing Table and although the 3000 performed well that extra power provided by the 4000 has made quite a difference. I have used this tool (4000) to route/sand/grind/shape/cut/polish. This in my opinion is a great tool from the very extensive Dremel range and I can honestly recommend the 4000 especially at the price Wickes are currently selling them. Carry case and accessories including the the wonderful Flexi Shaft and various other accessories. By the way the transaction with Wickes was flawless super fast delivery I am extremely please all round Highly recommend.

Maybe this was a case of having too high expectations, that were then impossible to meet, but I'd always had the thought in my head that a Dremel was a multi tool for all kinds of small jobs - and it just isn't as good as I thought it would be. The big disappointment is that the instructions aren't very helpful at helping you understand which attachment can be used for what jobs - or the most effective way of using them. Also the body is so heavy and cumbersome, it is quite difficult to use precisely.

Bought this to remove old nails from walls as I was fitting new skirting boards. Had them off in no time! Easy to use, fast to setup and mighty powerful. Has more uses than i expected so really pleased with it.

Bought to replace a Dremel I'd had for 20yrs. Bigger than the old model but more powerful and comes with a flexible drive shaft which has a slim hand piece. Very handy for working in small areas. All my old accessories fit as well as the Chuck off my old Dremel. A very good tool, loads of accessories, useful for more projects than you think. Great purchase, wish I'd bought it sooner!
This tool is a replacement for my old 4000 model that gave up the ghost after 6 years hard work. So far I am very impressed with the 4250, easy to use and so many different attachments available. Definitely recommended.
The tool is excellent,However some of the tool bits are very femurand of no use , the wire polishing brush in particular.
I bought this kit for one particular job, but knew that it would be used for many others due to the different tips supplied. Tip change is easy, and the whole tool is light enough to use for longer periods. I thought that it might get too hot to hold after a while, but I was using it on a mid range speed for over an hour without any problems. I almost bought the set with the flexible shaft, but as I don't need it yet I can wait and buy it as an accessory later.All in all, very pleased with the kit.
Being an design engineer. I’ve used many air powered die grinding and cutting tools over the years so compared to those the dremel is lacking in many areas. It’s very expensive for what it is and this day and age you’d expect it to have a brushless motor, but no.That being said as a diy tool for home use or light duty tasks or if you don’t have access to compressed air it’s not bad at all.As much as I wanted the cordless version, I can’t see it being used every day and would need charging every time I needed it. Plus again no brushless version in uk as yet. Although I have seen it in US reviews online.A useful tool if you don’t mind the price.
This is the 2nd Dremel 4000I own as my hobby is working with crystals and beach pebbles. The beauty of the Dremel is the huge range of speeds at your fingertips. This is really important as all the crystals I use have a varying range of hardness. The ease of changing drill sizes is amazing and fast, I am also amazed at how light and versatile the Dremel is meaning I can use it for hours on end with no aching hand or numb fingers. I rarely use any attachments apart from diamond drills and cutters but the range of attachments available is astonishing and all are very affordable.
At the end of a full house restoration I purchased this multi tool. I wish I'd purchased it two years earlier as I would have saved a lot of time and money!The tool is perfect for getting into small spaces and intricate detail. Theres so many interchangeable heads it can cover so many needs across the average DIY project. I haven't used it much, but the power of the model seems strong enough for most tasks, sanding the detail on a wooden door frame and removing decades of old paint was a breeze.
