I've recommended this to family members with hair similar to mine. I can see how this product wouldn't be worth it for everyone. BUT for me it is such a time saver! [over half an hour saved] It typically takes me half an hour+ to tension dry my hair with a paddle brush and a normal hair dryer (I have a bio ionic 10x - which i love) and then it takes another half an hour+ to meticulously straighten or curl all of my hair. I was able to go from sopping wet to dry AND straight in a little over half an hour with this tool. I can still see occasions where I will use my dryer (when I want to go naturally wavy/curly) and straightener (I prefer to curl my hair with my straightener [bio ionic onepass]), but the time savings that the airstrait gave me is worth the $$$ price tag in my case. The tension I was able to get with this product more perfectly substitutes what I am able to do with a brush and my hair dryer- as I am still typically left with enough random waves that I HAVE to also use my straightener. It safely too! Hope this helps!

This product really surprised me, not only did it save me time doing my hair in the morning, but it also helped me dry and straighten my hair in one go. My hair is quite thin and dry at the ends due to curling, so if I don't dry it thoroughly, my hair will be frizzy and the top will be flat. After trying it, I found that this machine straightens my hair very effectively and also makes my hair shiny. I was quite surprised because it is very easy to use and also very safe to use by myself. The machine will take a few seconds to clean and then be ready to use immediately, the machine also has many modes for dry or wet to dry hair. What surprised me more was that when I folded the machine, it worked like a hair dryer, it would blow out a stream of air like a top hair ... MoreThis product really surprised me, not only did it save me time doing my hair in the morning, but it also helped me dry and straighten my hair in one go. I have actually had a different hairstyle every day since I bought this machine. I also didn't expect it to be so worth the money, it was really worth the money.

I’d been thinking about and wanting a supersonic for a while now and was a bit hesitant due to the price and the fact that I could get other very high end professional blow dryers for a third of the price, but I initially felt the same way about dyson vacuums until I bought my first V8 years ago and realized how well made and engineered dyson products were. So I finally decided to buy the new supersonic in this special edition color that looks nice once it was time to replace my old dryer and I absolutely do not regret it one bit. Yes, almost $600 for a hair dryer is quite a lot, but this special edition includes the newly restyled presentation case as well as 5 attachments-including due new flyaway attachment, which is every bit as impressive as dyson makes it out ... MoreI’d been thinking about and wanting a supersonic for a while now and was a bit hesitant due to the price and the fact that I could get other very high end professional blow dryers for a third of the price, but I initially felt the same way about dyson vacuums until I bought my first V8 years ago and realized how well made and engineered dyson products were. So I finally decided to buy the new supersonic in this special edition color that looks nice once it was time to replace my old dryer and I absolutely do not regret it one bit. Yes, almost $600 for a hair dryer is quite a lot, but this special edition includes the newly restyled presentation case as well as 5 attachments-including due new flyaway attachment, which is every bit as impressive as dyson makes it out to be-and it came with a matching paddle brush and wide tooth comb. The colors are absolutely beautiful in this vinca blue and rose gold tone, and the presentation case is quite nice in the vinca blue as well. Being that it’s a dyson, it has an amazing motor inside to power the dryer, as well as dysons really cool air multiplier technology, not to mention it just looks super cool with the hollow end on it. It’s also far smaller than any other dryer, making it easier to work with. I absolutely love the way the attachments are magnetic and very easily and simply change out, and it also allows you to rotate any of the attachments however much you like so you can get the best angle and most ergonomic grip to tend to any part of your head/hair. The 12 different settings are really cool and helpful as well (there’s 3 speed settings and 4 heat settings that you can each set individually, as well as a dedicated cool shot button you can press at any time regardless of the heat setting you have it on to either set your hair style once finished or if you have a sensitive scalp and the heat is burning you and you need a quick break to cool off) I also love all the attachments so much, both for their individual functions as well as the way dyson made them so that they always stay cool and allow you to touch and grab and change them out at any time. I seriously I no idea how they managed to make the attachments heat proof like that, but it’s a great and held up feature for using this dryer, as you’ll most likely end up using multiple attachments every time you use it. And you’ve probably noticed the way they’re making a big deal out of the new flyaway attachment, but I can assure you that it’s warranted because it truly is every bit as impressive and innovative as they make it out to be. Yes, it looks a bit silly on there at first and it can be a bit awkward learning to use it for the first time, but within the very first ten seconds of using it for the first time ever, you’ll immediately see why dyson is so proud of it, because it does every single thing they claim it will and works as perfectly as they say and is as easy to use as they say. I thought it’d be an attachment I’d never use tbh, but it’s became an absolute must use attachment every time I use the dryer now because of how well it works. You literally can use just that one attachment alone to straighten your hair as well as their flat iron does, and it absolutely does hide all the flyaways and smooths your hair perfectly. It also does attract your hair just like they claim; idk how it does it, especially because there’s air blowing out of it, but it legit attracts your hair to it like a magnet and pulls the longer hairs in tighter to cover any flyaways. It’s a genius attachment. Also can be used to give a bit of shape to the ends of your hair if you want. It’s seriously super cool and I highly recommend buying that attachment if you have an older supersonic that you got before that attachment was created. It’s truly the best dryer on the market, but the attachments make it even better and allows it to do so much more, and it also is a beautiful work of art like all other dyson products. And again, it’s so much smaller than other dryers, making it far easier to work with and less prone to your arms getting tired from holding it up above your head for a while since it’s much shorter and doesn’t have to be held as far away as other dryers, and it’s far more lightweight and perfectly balanced too, further helping ergonomics on it. If you’re on rhe fence about it, just go ahead and get it; I promise you won’t regret it and you’ll wish you got it sooner. It’ll make drying and styling your hair so much easier and faster and better and you’ll get that perfect salon style every single day with this product. Not to mention the fact that it’s got a two year warranty like all other dyson products, even if you don’t buy it from dyson. Just register it with its serial number on the dyson site or MyDyson app (which also has lots of cool helpful features for dyson owners and I highly suggest the app too) and it’ll start your warranty as well as give you the owners manual for your product. It easily allows you to make a warranty claim, should you have an issue with your device, and it also easily lets you buy additional parts for your product, such as additional attachments or filters, presentation cases, stands, etc. Oh and also, if you buy any dyson product and register it to start it’s warranty, dyson also sends you exclusive 20% off coupon codes. They sent me 2 separate 20% off codes during December that I could use on almost any dyson product (which were already on sale for the holiday season) and they do that for all dyson owners a few times throughout the year. I just wish I’d have gotten the code before buying this supersonic because I could’ve gotten it for such a good deal đŸ˜© but it’s still absolutely worth every single penny I spent on it, despite paying full price before they went on sale in December. I’m now seriously considering buying an airwrap just because of how well the supersonic is!

Best straighteners ever!
10 June 2024

Much sleeker, hair felt softer, shinier, healthier and could run fingers through better. It was clear to see which is why I bought it.

Curly/Wavy Girl Review
14 May 2023

When I first started looking into purchasing a new straightener, I was still using an old one from college that sizzled my hair so badly, I had to vent the bathroom during every use. Now that I'm hitting late 20s, I was looking for a straightener that left my hair feeling silky and healthy, not frazzled and damaged. Upon learning about the Corrale, I had my doubts, as I had read reviews of snagging and was concerned that my wavy/curly mix would suffer. Personally, I have never experienced snagging on my hair from the Corrale, and my hair seems to hold the style much longer, and with a sleeker look than previous straighteners. This might not be true for everyone, but I've personally never had that problem. As far as pros go, the straightener itself heats up quickly, ... MoreWhen I first started looking into purchasing a new straightener, I was still using an old one from college that sizzled my hair so badly, I had to vent the bathroom during every use. This might not be true for everyone, but I've personally never had that problem. As far as pros go, the straightener itself heats up quickly, and gets the job done in only a few simple passes. Also, the cordless design is honestly amazing -- I can walk around my apartment in the morning as I style my hair, which sounds crazy, but seriously, it's a perk. The only cons that I can give the product aren't even worthy of dropping a star rating. The Corrale is quite heavy, but after a while, I became used to it. The only real annoyance I've had is that my battery occasionally dies if I'm spending a long time styling, and plugging in whilst styling doesn't always work. However, my hair is long and a curly/wavy mix, so if you have short hair, I don't forsee this being a problem, but you might want to look into other reviews. Overall, those two cons definitely don't outweigh the pros of the product, and I've adapted to them. All in all, my hair feels healthier and looks great. I couldn't be happier with the purchase and can confidently tell the beach wave girlies that I found a straightener that works for us!

Great convenience, results are good but not wow
21 March 2023

This is a tough product to rate - on the one hand there are several features that I really like and that I have not seen on many or even any other straighteners. I love the cordless functionality and how quickly the tool heats up. This combined with being able to plug the charging cord into the stand means that instead of putting everything away after each use, I now just leave the Corrale sitting in its dock most of the time, ready to use for quick touch ups. The convenience is superb, and even better because the dual voltage and airplane mode features mean I can literally take this anywhere, even overseas where the Dyson Supersonic and Airwrap can’t go

. This is one of the primary reasons I chose the Corrale - I wanted a convenient tool that could come with me when I travel overseas and generally don’t have a ton of hair care or styling products with me. Another big positive is that there is no singed smell when using the Corrale, which I have to believe is due to the technology. It also works, for me anyway, on even the lowest heat setting. The Corrale leaves my hair frizz free with a nice shine, and it usually takes minimal passes. I find the battery lasts plenty for me and that the cordless feature is well worth it. In all, the Corrale does a good job of straightening and curling, at least the loser types of waves I like to give my hair some body and bounce. But that’s where I run into trouble with the rating - the Corrale does a “good” job - the results don’t blow me away, they are just “good”. In fairness, they are achieved with all the convenience I just described, and with less heat and presumably less damage, but I don’t know that all justifies the incredibly high price. Ironically, part of my less than 100% satisfaction is influenced by my overwhelmingly positive experience with the Dyson Supersonic, which I consider a true game changer and worth every penny with respect to the results and the speed with which they can be achieved. Maybe the true advantages of the Corrale over other straighteners are the speed, convenience and lower heat with which good results can be achieved rather than the more obvious superior results you can get with the Dyson Supersonic over any other hair dryer I have tired. I don’t regret buying the Corrale but it is not a game changer for me the way the Supersonic is. I do like the Corrale, but If it broke tomorrow I would not necessarily miss the product, I would mostly be mad about the money I spent. If I broke the Supersonic, however, I would have to find a way to replace it right away - that’s just how much difference it has made to how I am able to dry and style my hair.

The Worst Straightener
16 March 2024

I usually do not leavenegative reviews, but I felt especially inclined to do so because of the price point and the hype around Dyson products.I was looking to replace an old straightener that I bought several years ago. Still working pretty decently. Just looking to upgrade and spoil myself a bit!Walked into Ulta and saw this. Looks amazing. I loved the idea of it being cordless so I can have more freedom while doing my hair. Loved the gold/copper color. Also heard a lot of great things about the Dyson Air Wrap, so I thought, "this MUST be great!" ...right?Well, I was sooo dissappointed when I finally got home. I charged it fully. And then decided to try it out. My hair length is past my shoulders. It is pretty thick (I have a LOT of hair!), and it is a wavy texture. I straightened my hair 2 days prior with my old straightener, so I wanted to touch up my roots and re-curl my ends with the Dyson. Typically a simple job. This Dyson Coralle did not heat up enough (only goes up to 410 F), is supppper heavy, so my hand was hurting 5 minutes into using it. Not only that but because it is so heavy, it is harder to flip it to curl my ends. It also does not run smoothly through my hair. AND did not straighten it within one go, which was sooo shocking because my hair was already straightened!! Also, within not even 20 minutes of using it, was already half battery!! This was a tooootal bust and I don't think anyone should be wasting their money on this. Overpriced and honestly, with how bad it is, I would not even spend $20 on it.

Very versatile
15 October 2024

I absolutely love my Dyson corrale straighteners. I find them so very versatile I can straighten, wave or curl my hair using them. I can also touch my hair after styling, which provides less heat damage to the hair.I also use a Dyson hairdryer heat protect spray on my hair and my hairdresser has said my hair has never been in better condition.I have fine Hair, but I have a lot of it and my hair can become quite frizzy at times, it also has a natural wave in my hair.I find starting from the bottom and sectioning the hair and taking perhaps an inch square section at a time works for me. if you try to use too much hair in the section it does pull, so you need to find the right balance for you.I can get three uses out of the battery before I need to charge them, ... MoreI absolutely love my Dyson corrale straighteners. [Rewarded Review] 4 Years Later

Alright, so it's been 4 years of using my Corrale. So I figured it was time to finally write a review, the good, the bad, and the curly. Let's start with the Pros:- Gets my 2C curly hair straight in one pass. If I don't blow dry and it's really curly, then 2 passes, but still, impressive.- Makes gorgeous loose curls because of its barrel shapeYou can get so much more hair per pass because of the "teeth." I can do my whole head in 15 minutes, which is more impressive than it sounds, considering I have a ton of thick curly hair, used to take me 45 mins.Cordless, I didn't realize how useful this was until I became a bridesmaid and had to share a small historic house with like 10 other women who were all competing for mirror and outlet space. I was able to take my Dyson into the quiet powder room no one was in because it had no outlets. To say the other girls were jealous is an understatement.- No burnt smell. Every time I used to flat iron with my CHI, there was always this burning smell left in my hair. The dyson doesn't do that, and it locks in the smell of my heat protectant.-Longevity, as I said, it's been 4 years since I got this bad boy, and it straightens just as well as day 1. I'm sure I'll get a few more years out of it.- Efficiency, when you are a working mom, you value any time you can save, and this saves me lots. I've had the Dyson airwrap and the Airstrait, and they're fine, but none get my hair done and protected from humidity like the original Dyson blow dryer and the Corrale. I loved the airstrait at first because of its speed, but it can't curl, and then I stepped outside in Florida summer, and I looked like a French poodle in less than 30 seconds. So while the "air only" tools are great in theory, not for naturally curly hair or humid climates. Now for the Cons:-Clunky, my goodness, this thing is a brick. I'm a fairly strong lady, but the first few times I used this, I had to take breaks because my hand cramped so bad. You do get used to it, though, and now I can finish my whole head in one sitting.- Battery degrades, I used to be able to do my whole head at 400 in one charge. After about 3 years, I can only do half my hair at 365 before it starts dying. So I mostly use it plugged in now. Thats to be expected of any battery, though.- Travel, is not easy with this thing, and the cord has another brick of its own, so I opt for my light CHI for traveling.- It snags, the teeth mechanism does make your hair catch, so while it's not a smooth pass like my CHI, it grabs a lot more hair in one pass and needs way less passes than my CHI to get the desired look.-Shine is lackluster, I won't get that silk press look like I do with my CHI, but it also comes at the price of frying my hair so...Sooo I know what you're thinking, "That's a whole Lotta Cons for a $500 straightener," and you'd be right. So it all comes down to the last and most important PRO, LACK OF DAMAGE. This is the only straightener I've ever used this long, and this often, that hasn't fried my hair. In fact, my hair looks and feels better than ever, even with consistent heat styling. My dermatologist stated my hair was super thick and healthy. I asked my stylist how often she thought I styled my hair, and she said, "Special occasions?" Nope, EVERY WEEK for 4 years. Will I buy one again? Well, I plan to hold on to this one till its last breath, but if Dyson releases a lighter, thinner version with longer battery, I'll be first in line. So ultimately, whether this is worth it for you will come down to how much you value the health of your hair, and for me, it's priceless.

[Rewarded Review] Continues to be a nice option
14 January 2023

I'm pretty familiar with the Corrale and how it works having already owned one for a little over 2 years so I was curious if a newer one offered any updated benefits. Out of the box, the only immediate differences I noticed was the change in the charging dock. Previously you received a full sized dock with a heavy base and a hard sturdy plastic attachment that the iron would lean on. With this one and I believe all of the newer ones you get the new travel dock which is more compact (it folds close) and not nearly as heavy and sturdy as the original. It appears to be made out of mostly plastic material but as the name suggests would be perfect for traveling. As far as actual performance...so far it performs pretty much like the original one I own. It continues to offer the same 3 heat temperatures of 330/365/410 degrees. It heats up quickly as expected and glides effortlessly through my hair straightening in a single pass (assuming I don't get too ambitious and try to work on a section that is too big/thick) without causing the dreaded burning hair smell that I can experience with other irons using the same amount of product and keeping the temperature at comparable levels. This has always been one of the reasons I enjoy using this iron over others to smooth my natural textured hair. Relying on my memory of battery life when I initially got the original iron I will say that it seems to be the same. I can comfortably complete my straightening process without the battery dying. It will take time for me to really say if battery life is more improved on this one over my original which after 2 years still works well but as expected the battery drains a bit quicker now and I may have to let it sit on the dock a bit longer to get a bit more charge near the end of my process. This is not a shock for a cordless device that is used fairly regularly over the 2+ years but would be nice if this one can do a little better over time. Every since Dyson first released the Corrale I have noticed a lot of unrealistic expectations about battery life where people are expecting the battery to last as if it were a traditional corded iron because of the price. This is asking for a lot and just doesn't make sense. To the best of my knowledge there isn't a comparable full sized cordless rechargeable straightener with a better battery life even today so you have to set your expectations for that in a more realistic manner. It would be great if the battery could last an hour but it might just be asking for too much without needing some major changes that may not be wanted. I personally opt to use it without the cord opting instead to place it on the dock to charge between passes. Because the cord continues to be the magnetic type it just ends up being too easy to accidentally knock the cord off while using so I just opt not to. But if you want to extend your battery time using it corded in hybrid mode may be your best option.Weight-wise, this one seems to be about the same in my hand (I don't see any info on the box or the pamphlet that states a difference so I can't really confirm or deny any changes). The Corrale is definitely a bit heavier than some may be used to with their irons but it is not a weight that will realistically cause the user to feel fatigue or anything during use. I don't experience any tugging or catching of any of my hair when using (although I am used to how to use this and am aware that the urge to clamp the plates down when gliding like we may do with some other irons isn't required at all. And I don't miss out on having a higher temp option like I would on other irons. This was a concern when I first got the original one but I quickly learned that hotter (even for my African American textured hair) doesn't mean better. Oh, and of course, the little tab you can use to make your iron flight compliant remains so for most places you may fly to you can take your iron along for the trip.Overall, I still feel that the Corrale is a great option as long as you have realistic expectations. It is definitely an investment so if the price tag makes you a little nervous I would suggest getting an extended warranty if you can just to give you a little peace of mind. The 2 year warranty is excellent. I would prefer that Dyson went back to providing a full sized dock with the travel dock as an additional accessory included or purchasable if needed as I do have some concerns that the travel dock is much easier to break thanks to it's cheaper materials and somewhat flimsy feel but at least you know you will have the warranty to cover if it does happen to break.
