I have other eufy battery operated cameras and they work well. I purchased two of these flood light cameras to join with my present system. The product was well packaged and easy to install in existing outside light boxes. They interface well with the other products and functions correctly during the daytime. However, in the evening, the camera comes on and the lights engage about 5 seconds later. Both of the units have this lag. This leaves the recording dark for the first 5 seconds and then when the lights come on, a good recording is produced. Unfortunately, this limits their capability to detecting daytime objects or night time 'slow moving' objects!

The eufy floodlight security camera is my first security camera for my house and I love it. My fiancé has no electrical experience and it took him about 15 minutes to set up the camera outside. Through the eufy security app you can view a livestream of the camera and the quality is amazing, the video is crystal clear. The floodlight cam has built in AI to detect humans rather than animals, which is great because my cat hangs out near the area of the camera and it won’t trigger an alert every time. The actual floodlight is very bright and is triggered by motion, but you can also manually turn on the floodlights and even set up times for the floodlights to go on and off. If you have signal trouble, your choices are to try another location, move your router or mesh system node, or get a WIFI extender. It connects to the 2.4 GHz band, and you need a solid signal to stream video to your phone or tablet.The Eufy app is quite good and gives total control of both the light and security camera functions. As with most Eufy products, you can carry on a conversation with someone outside … or scare them off! The very bright LED floods can be turned on and off manually, run in dusk to dawn mode, or triggered by motion detection. Sensitivity is adjustable, activity (trigger) zones can be defined, and programs can be set for active times. The camera works in a night mode (black and white), but the video is much better when the lights come on and you get 2K color video. The field of view is very wide at about 150 degrees, so there is a fair distortion. This latest and improved floodlight from Eufy also includes their AI, which means you can set it to react to any motion or only when it determines it sees humans. As with their other cams, this does work well. After the first night or two, I changed to all motion and not only saw every car but a raccoon and fox walking up my alley. That’s a lot of notification.Yes, it’s a bit on the pricey side, but the Eufy Floodlight Camera does everything it’s designed to do, and the build quality is quite good. It’s both a bright and programmable floodlight and a very good security camera. If you have any other Eufy products, it’s the obvious choice to add a security light and camera. As a stand-alone product, it requires only WIFI and your phone. And, of course, it can play with Alexa. If it could record to my Homebase to give security without a subscription, I would have given it 5 stars.

I have tested/used a few floodlight cams in the past and never saw this before. It is such a simple addition but so thoughtful and efficient!I am really pleased with all aspects of this unit. I have no issues with connectivity dropping off, the images and stream are clear, and the viewing angle is generous giving me a great view of my backyard day or night. The sound is clear and in tests with my neighbor I could hear them (and they could hear me) quite clearly. The included siren is also loud enough to be heard down the block. And the lights are bright enough to illuminate my yard all the way to the fence.There are only two things in my opinion that could be changed to make this the “perfect” floodlight cam. There is no way to get an RTSP stream out of the device, which prevents me from adding it into my smart home management system (or a PC based DVR like Blue Iris) although I can concede that this is not something the average consumer might care about.The more important thing is that while it does not *require* a Eufy security home base, it also does not currently support connecting to one either. This means that in the Eufy Security App, if you have any of their home base type cams and the 2k Floodlight, they show up in separate sections and must be managed separately as well. That means when you are changing modes (for instance; from Home to Away) you must go to two different places in the app instead of just setting the mode for all the cams that are connected. Interestingly enough, there IS a sync button on the top of the 2k Floodlight Cam just like all the home base cams – it just does not do anything at the moment. Seems to me that this could be activated in the future via a firmware/software update. I can’t imagine going through the trouble of putting it there unless there was going to be some future use for it and I am hoping that Eufy follows through on this soon as it is the one annoyance in an otherwise superb floodlight cam.

They provide all of the mounting hardware in the box, including the nifty hook to hold the unit in place while connecting the wires. It’s a very clean looking unit once in place as there is a single mounting screw that holds the unit to the power box and a matching rubber cover to hide the screwhead. The lights and camera are all easily adjusted with thumbscrews on the lights and a ball and socket connection on the camera.Camera/Floodlight Settings – Once installed, it’s time to customize the system, and Eufy provides a number of setting options including motion detection sensitivity, recording options, video quality, notifications and storage to name just a few. I haven’t used any Eufy devices in the past and was really impressed with the ease-of-use of their app and the multitude of settings and adjustments available.Pros:- Very well-built unit and easy to setup and install- eufy Security App is loaded with features/setup options and is user-friendly- 2K video is crisp and the Drop-In Anytime live feed option is great for piece-of-mind- 2,000 lumen floodlights light up our entire deck and makes for amazing night video capture- Built in AI cuts the number of “false alarms” considerably by designating “Human Only” alerts- GEO Fencing option for turning the system on/off when away or at home- Local Storage – no need to pay for monthly storage, there is 3.7GB available on the unit- 100dB alarm and two-way communication for added security is a must!Cons:- Sporadically the camera will not be available to connect for live streaming. Will need to do a bit more research on this, but basically just need to “retry” to connect on occasion.The eufy Floodlight Cam 2K is exactly what I was hoping for when selected. It’s solidly built, easy to install and setup and has so many features/options. I would certainly recommend this system for anyone considering a purchase of a security camera or motion sensor floodlight.
Works well in most all situations detecting people and not other moving objects. I use this over a driveway and installed it in Spet 2022. In January, it stopped responding as the main smart camera would not "wake-up" even after power cycling. Eufy was contacted and promptly sent me a replacement and a return package for the old, defective one. They made the warranty replacement process easy and painless. My guess is the original camera had a power outage or corrupted firmware update. Eufy pushes updates automatically with no use choice. Regardless, the replacement has been working fine for 6+ months now. I'd still recommend it for a outdoor security camera.
It's about time somebody made a serious spotlight camera with clear, crisp video quality. The 2K camera captures video in 4mp resolution which is both clear and un-pixelated when viewing remotely. The ability to dim the lights down to 22% is great if you want to use them as dusk to dawn or have them on a schedule. You can even set them differently for motion and manual operation. I really would've liked if you could adjust the color temp, the 5000k is quite different from my other outside lighting so I can't use them on a schedule. I'm appreciative of the built-in storage so you don't have to pay monthly for a service if you don't want to. Though, 4GB is a mere pittance for storage these days so I would probably expect 3-6 months before it starts overwriting old recordings. In addition to sound, it has 2 way communication and a siren if you need to scare someone away.I think this unit is a good buy for the features and ease of setup. Just the fact that you don't need a specific app to operate it other than the Eufy app that also allows me to use my doorbell cam, is a bonus. 2k video is the best I've seen, most only use 1080p. It's a great addition to my security network!
Product is well made. I like how bright the lights are and that they are also dimmable. It falls short on the automation side of things however. Smart home integration is limited to turning the device on or off. Being able to set the mode to home, away, or off using Alexa or similar device would be a big plus.Notifications for human body recognition works, but you can't configure the lights to ONLY turn on when a human is detected. The darn thing turns on every time a leaf blows through the yard. Eufy wants you to purchase their home automation system and apparently has not intention of increasing integration with other systems.
