This product truly is amazing. Constructed of high quality materials, 3 colors, adjustable brightness (max 2000 lumens), magnetic base, and a huge 10,000mAh total of battery power. I have 2 and use them in storms to prepare my house in case of power loss. They are perfect for overlanding, camping, and anything that involves the need for light when it gets dark.I have been purchasing Fenix products for over 8 years now and there is a reason for it. They make the finest, safest, toughest, longest-lasting, and most innovative lighting products on the market. I highly recommend Fenix lights over any other brand.

Although this light falls into the lantern category for Fenix, it’s been a fantastic work light. I use it working on vehicles, in the home, garage, really anywhere I need a hands free light. The ability to infinitely adjust the lumen output is awesome. No more 2 or 3 modes, you can get anything from a drop of light up to 2000 very bright lumens. I absolutely love that you can adjust the kelvin temperature from very warm to very cool white. It remembers the temperature every time you turn the light on. A tripod mount and strong magnets are the icing on the cake. I don’t use the red light but it’s there if you need it. Also functions as a power bank, and it’s typical Fenix construction and quality. Awesome. Will be buying a second one.

I finally received the CL28R Lantern, great light, a little bigger than I had imagined. I mounted it to an average tripod and it turned into one of the most versatile lights I own, and my 8th Fenix model. Strong enough to light up the room and gives me massive options to use it for. Work, camping, breakdowns, emergency roadside, hunting and the added Red Light feature is just as valuable for night activities and it doesn't attract Mosquitoes!!! Great light for inside a tent or your car because it doesn't get hot from use and it can run all night and still have enough juice to charge your phone. The magnets could be a little stronger but if you're just sticking it to something temporary it's strong enough.

My first impressions of the light it was larger than I thought it would be. But very very well-made solid metal seems like it could handle a 50 foot fall just fine.I like the ability to change the color of the light, but it does really depend on your mood. Lol. It’s very bright. I love how the lithium ion battery is internal end. The magnet is a very nice feature. As a matter of fact, I wouldn’t have bought it if it didn’t have the magnet.I would recommend this light to anyone looking for a nice flood light. It is a tad bit heavy for backpacking, and the battery life is not quite as long as I hoped for but everyone I’ve showed the light to wants one
I love and own a lot of Fenix products They are the best.But! This lantern does not have replaceable batteries. I have owned three camp lantern from another manufacturer that didn't have replaceable batteries and swore to never do that again. If you are away from an electric source, like camping or hurricane conditions, it is necessary to be able to keep having light by just replacing exhausted batteries from a supply of batteries. I have two CL30R lanterns and a back up of three sets of batteries for each. They work great, and I will not do less for hurricane protection.
I’m not as impressed with this light as I had wished. I purchased it to use as a work light. I got a tripod for it which really adds to its versatility. It can be very bright but the battery is quickly drained. It’s really only a 500 lumen light if you need it for an 8 hr day. I can’t see using it as a power bank and a light source. The battery just doesn’t have enough capacity. It would be nice to remove the magnet(s). Metal fragments and the iron in the dirt and sand will get all over them. Especially the spaces in the backside of the arm. It would be nice to clean. I also think it would be better to have the setting knobs be a positive engagement rather than just a rheostat knob. Unless I missed it, this light is a great tool, at an excellent price point, for detailing cars! I don’t understand why Fenix does not play to this car market with this product. The de facto light in that space is easily 30% more expensive. 2 of these lights are 60% the price of two of the competition. Time will tell about longevity and durability, but I bet Fenix quality won’t disappoint. The color range on these lights allows detailing for light or dark color cars. I’m excited to have these.
Really happy with the construction design, quality, and function of this light. With the magnets and the tripod adapter this is a real winner. Great to be able to adjust/dial in and change the color spectrum to fit the circumstance and situation.My requested design improvement; simply make the key chain hole large enough for a screw gate rock locking carabiner/ or at least more robust clip on style carabiner. The current key chain hole is simply too small and limiting. A couple custom fitted colored filters and a protective case would be advantageous too . Would and will buy again!
I started out looking for a light for under my trucks hood. This can be so much more. Under my truck or incase of break down has flashing red light. Or i can use in my trailer if need be and there is still camping. Everybody i show can’t believe i can change the color of light to whatever is easier on your eyes or best for situations. I usually don’t do reviews but I obviously like your lantern. Oh and I’ve used this for what seemed like at least a few hours and only used 1 bar so will last for quite awhile. You really should give me 20 off for this review. Thanks for the great lights. Mike
I love this light, bought three of them, gave one to a neighbor. I'm dropping two stars from the rating for the magnet alone. This light does everything I want it to do, but I would not leave it on the tailgate of my truck for hooking up a trailer in the dark to see the hitch like I would with the multiple MAXXEON Cyclops 720 Lumens LED's that I use. Whoever researched the magnet to outfit this light with, completely failed. I cannot get it to stay on my refrigerator without sliding down in the horizontal position, it will stay in the vertical position. I pay a third for the cyclops of what I paid for these lights. Admittedly, these have so much functionality with dimming and color changing...Fenix hit a home run and ruined it tripping over third base and breaking a ...
