We bought the drier and installed it on the wall. Switched it on to make sure it worked okay and there was this loud clunking sound. Obviously something not right. Called Fisher and Paykel who sent a technician out. As soon as he heard the sound, he said, I know what that is and it turned out that the fan was not secured properly. He fixed it and from that moment, we have not looked back. So the reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the manufacture was a bit slapdash but the after-sales service was excellent.

My previous dryer was also a Fisher & Paykel and it lasted 29 years!! This one is just as good to use, simple no-fuss design, but - being new - its nice and quiet. Somehow the clothes come out of it feeling better and less wrinkled than the old one. I think its the sensor drying which means my clothes arent being over-dried. Overall definitely recommend.

So easy to use. I paid an extr $146 to have it installed on wall and old dryer removed. Its a good model, ghe operation panel is not over complicated like soe dryers that have way too many programs/buttons. Installer ser it to Auto fir everyday loads. The lint is easy to remove as lint vent is in the internal rim of dryer and easy to remove and empty, love this dryer. Is only 2 stars but its great and worth the purchase. Bought from Helensvale store from sales woman Norma who was very helpful and knew her products. Lovely customer service from Norms and happy with delivery guys and the installer- a positive experience
Very happy with this dryer. I was limited to a ducted dryer I could hang above a top loading washing machine. This fit the bill, was one of three recommended by Choice, and best of all, was available NOW! Still to be ducted to outside the laundry, but already operating efficiently. Has high energy rating, but I only use it in the depths of winter and to de-crease spun dry washing.
This dryer is fantastic - so far. It has different heat settings which I find I use more than anything else. It's great the way it reverses direction after it's finished, which stops the clothes (or whatever) from getting creased if I'm a bit slow to get them out. It also prevents them from rolling into a ball if it only goes one way...soooo good! It also has a really good variety of heat settings which I use a lot for cotton so it won't shrink.
About 6 months old. Only used a couple of times. Discovered some black streaks on light coloured pillow cases. Wiped a cloth between drum and internal front fascia and replicated streak marks. Mechanical oil/grease from drum mechanism? Doesn’t seem to be any seal between the two. Not great!
I wasn't impressed that the dryer didn't come with a venting tube. I paid extra to have it "installed" and all they did was plug it into the socket, which anyone can do. But there was no venting tube which is a bit ridiculous for a dryer at this price range. Now I have water stains on my ceiling already from using it once and I have to figure out where to get that extra part and find someone (and pay AGAIN) to install it properly since you need to modify the settings on the dryer to make it work with a tube. This wasn't in the product description and I would have bought another model if I had know all of the above.
I bought my Fisher Paykel 6kg dryer online from The Good Guys 2 months ago. It's been used no more than a dozen times, and now it has started a loud scraping noise when in use. It comes from behind the drum, and still makes the noise when the dryer is empty and you rotate the drum by hand. I've been sold a faulty product, and want it replaced with a new one. Now I can't use my new dryer. Not impressed.
Looking at a cheaper model and wondering why you would spend the extra dollars on this Fisher and Paykel Because it is awesome. Child lock Absolutely. No one needs their kids pressing buttons. We have enough issues trying to put washing away in the limited time we have. We dont need a wet pile of washing to come back to. Delicate stuff and too lazy to hang it Heat levels. Yep, just put it on a cooler option and youll be right. Absolutely HATE when your sheets roll into a ball Reverse spin for the win. No balls of sheets that are all wet in the middle. Winner, winner - fisher and paykel for dinner.
