I bought this watch because I don't particularly like how most smart watches currentllooks like smart phones on your wrist, but this watch looks like a proper watch. The battery life was okay and would only really last a day sometimes less if you felt like using heavy apps on it like Google maps or playing music through the speaker, but overall I'd charge it in the evening/while I was showering and getting ready for work and it'd be at 100% when I was set to sleep or head out. Now for the cons, the first I had was the watch set up. Both watches I owned for some reason took well over an hour to for the initial set up of the watch. It's not like the watch was updated the whole time but required me to restart the set up processes multiple times. I thought I was just stupid till my first watch died and it took me another hour to finish the set up. Second con and the reason I've owned 2 watches is that the charger is terrible. This watch charging dock is super finicky, it would stop charging pretty frequently until the watch just stopped charging all together. This has occured twice. Now I thought the charger cable was broken but after buying a new one it still wasn't charging and when my second watch experienced the same issue I concluded the manufacturer had poor QC.If this watch just had poor connectivity and mid battery life I might recommend this watch to people looking for a sleek looking alternative smart watch but this watch is just bad.

Absolutely would buy again.

I was looking forward to this watch as I'm a fan of Fossil watches and figured this new model with the new CPU would be a step up from Wear OS devices from a couple years ago. I like the look of this watch and the built in faces are pretty good. It's nice that Fossil added sleep tracking since Google Fit still doesn't do this. That's about where the good stuff stop so my 2-stars might be generous. Performance over the last generation of Wear OS devices is only a very slight improvement. My previous watch is a Motorola 360 from 2019. This new Fossil rarely has the battery life to make it through a full day and still has lots of spotty performance like saying it can't connect to my phone when I try to text with Google Assistant. The screen is just OK with decent sharpness, color and brightness...the thick bezels are disappointing for a 6th generation product. WORST OF ALL...build quality doesn't seem very good as the rotating crown doesn't spin smoothly at all and has completely lost the "click" it has when pressed. It still functions but has virtually no travel when pressed which feels awkward and cheap. I may keep using this device because I'm a Fossil fan and want to try Wear OS 3 when it is release but I would not recommend this device to anyone.P.S. I was excited to have a watch with Alexa but when I set this up it forces the Alexa app on my phone to always run and absolutely crushes the battery life of my phone.

This is my everyday watch that I use to keep track of emails and text messages while leaving my phone in my locker. I absolutely love the style. I get a lot of compliments on how classic and classy it looks. However, this one is more of a problem than it's worth your battery life is terrible. It ends up in the extended battery mode most days by noon. And I just purchased it. The only correction I've found for the battery draining so fast is limit the watches use to the essentials. The other major issue I have is that it's full of bugs. It locks up and freezes all the time. This is my second Fossil smartwatch. I owned a generation 4 and had the same problems then. I took a chance at a generation 6 because I figured they would have worked these problems out by now. ... MoreThis is my everyday watch that I use to keep track of emails and text messages while leaving my phone in my locker. I've had this watch for a week now and it's been very impressive.Much more responsive that the TicWatch Pro 3 I was using before, but missed the premium look and feel of the Fossil.Battery life isn't half bad, even with all features turned on and sleep tracking all night it'll make it. 7am off charge, 24hrs later it's down to somewhere between 4-10% so I wake up 6am, stick it on charge while getting ready and it's at 100% charge before leaving for the day at 7am.The crown dial is an issue. This is actually my second Fossil Gen 6, the first was returned within 2 days as it would continually restart randomly. Seems the crown dial is an optical sensor for presses, so if dust somehow gets in there it thinks it's being held in. Seems the crown dial is an optical sensor for presses, so if dust somehow gets in there it thinks it's being held in. Not ideal and something Fossil need to address (perhaps with a software prompt or a combination of buttons required!!).The metal band on my model is nice, but can be a bit tight sliding your hand through once the bands are resized. There's a never ending SQUEAK from the watch band as it connects to the watch, very noticeable on both of the watches I was sent. It's so loud in fact, when shifting gears on the car I thought the gearbox was squeaking... no... I just forgot the watch did that. Hopefully it's something that goes away with time as I don't fancy putting WD40 on it!Overall, I'm happy with the crisp display, fast charging, decent Fossil watch faces + apps, smooth performance of the 4100+ and it looks stylish. If you can find this under £200 it's a great deal and the update to Wear OS 3 near year will be fantastic but there's nothing you'd miss out on getting it now.One of, if not the best Wear OS watch on the market except for the Galaxy Watch 4. For those without a Samsung phone this is a much better device, and for those seeing something that's stylish the Gen 6 is a winner too.

I really like the aesthetics of the watch, and the functionality, when it works. The watch was awesome when I could get it to charge and work. Unfortunately the charging portion of the watch, battery life, and getting it to actually stay on is what plagues this watch from being usable.I have had my watch for a year and a half, and within that year and a half, finding a good charging position, feels like I am becoming a profession safe cracker. I have to keep turning, nudging, and praying it charges.Majority of the time when charging, it is plagued with over heating. Their smart watch with the funky charging prongs, horrible battery, horrible heating issue, and now it doesn't turn on after being on the charger. I have to warn others that this watch is a pass. If you are looking for a smart watch, do not go with this one. You will feel the remorse, like I have in time. Sadly, the money spent on it, I really feel the remorse.

Overall a fantastic looking and performing watch being pulled back from a clean 5 star is the battery life. I come from a ticwatch pro from 2018. That watch though sluggish due to the aging 2100 processor was a battery mammoth having capacity of 577 mAh. This gen 6 is almost of similar size albeit slight slimmer in thickness and I am baffled why Fossil decided to throw in only 300 mAh of battery even when all of it's past generations had battery life complaints. Even the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 throws in a respectable 361 mAh battery on the 44mm size which is the same size as the gen 6. This makes the gen 6 last only a day vs lasting 2 days on the daily setup with always on display.Apart from the battery life, the whole fitness is mess with the watching coming with ... MoreOverall a fantastic looking and performing watch being pulled back from a clean 5 star is the battery life. Its not even clear which heartbeat gets shown on the watchface complication as it never the same as what I find on them withing the respective apps.Beyond the above 2 shortcomings taking away a start, the performance even on the age old wear OS 2 is fluid. Apps open faster. Styling of the watch is truly Fossil standard and which is why along with the 4100+ processor I decided to go for it. I am hoping the wear OS 3 upgrade fixes the battery life to some extent. Still can't be furious at Fossil for throwing in a small battery. Also hoping that with the wear OS 3, the fitness tracking is streamlined with Fitbit onboard and is not all over the place. If someone is able to buy with the hope of future upgrade fixing some of the problems then go for it. But, it's generally said never buy a product today with a promise of a future update to make it better...

I really wanted to love this watch. I'm fully on board with Google's ecosystem, and Fossil makes beautiful looking timepieces. Seems like a perfect match for me, on paper. Sadly this watch has two major flaws that are it's downfall.I had a Gen5 Carlyle for about 1.5 years before upgrading to the Gen6. Main reason for upgrading was the crown on the Gen 5 started to stick and would cause the watch to reboot without me realizing. This made the watch pretty much useless.I figured that Gen6 would be better because it has notches that protect the crown. I take extremely good care of the watch and it still looks brand new. I have had it for less than 9 months. Unfortunately, this crown is beginning to stick as well. It is hard to rotate and stays pushed in slightly ... MoreI really wanted to love this watch. I have had it for less than 9 months. Unfortunately, this crown is beginning to stick as well. It is hard to rotate and stays pushed in slightly after clicking it. Bad news only 9 months in.The other big issue is the vibration motor on my watch. The point of the watch is to be discreet, and not have to pull my phone out every time I get a notification. Unfortunately the vibration motor on this watch is just way too loud. The only way to describe it is obnoxious. If i get a text message, everyone in the vicinity will stop to look at what is making the noise. This is just embarrassing. While around others (at work or at home) I turn the watch to DND mode to avoid the distractions to others. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of having notifications available on my wrist if I can't even enable them. It's really unfortunate because the battery life is more than sufficient for me. I usually go for an hour run in the morning, use the watch to track my run (streaming music straight to bt headphones) and can easily make it through the day and only charge by bedtime. This is with the display on all the time.Love the way the watch looks, love the leather/rubber strap. The vibration motor and rotating crown issues will keep me from spending more money on one of these watches unfortunately.

I debated on whether to purchase this watch or the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. Both seemed very similar with features. I decided to purchase the Fossil because it has a much nicer look to it than the Samsung watch. It has a very sleek style to it and looks great with a more upscale look to it. I especially like the look of the smoke metal watch band. My only complaint about the band is that it was hard for me to get just the right fit when removing the the links, but I realize that is the nature of these type of bands. Remove too much and the watch is too tight. Too few and it is too loose. Would be nice if the band had finer adjustments than the length of each link. Both seemed very similar with features. I decided to purchase the Fossil because it has a much nicer look to it than the Samsung watch. The response of the watch is very crisp and I like the option of using the touch surface or the rotating button to move through selections. I also like the programmable buttons that allow me easy access to to features that I use the most. The battery life is much better than what I thought it would be based on some other reviews I read. By the end of the day I still have about 65 to 70% battery remaining with the watch set to use the Daily battery mode, which doesn't seem to compromise much regarding functions.Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and am looking forward to whatever lies ahead with the next version of Wear OS, which will hopefully be available to upgrade this watch in the future with whatever new features it may have.
