Just got my Garmin HRM-Pro Plus and after *trying* to see my real time heart rate on my phone I came across this on the Garmin website: "HRM-Pro Users: The app can only display historical data and is not capable of displaying real-time heart rate data." Do I really need to return this product after ~1 hour of trying to get the most basic function (monitor my heart rate) to work?Note that RoadRunner will not allow me to include a link to the Garmin support page that states the HRM-Pro is unable to display real time heart rate.

I've been using the old version for many years, but it broke recently. This is an amazing replacement. It can be used for swimming and it can keep a lot of tracked activities on the device, so you can work out without a smartwatch if needed.Also, it's much easier to replace the battery as you don't need extra tools.

Love this heart rate monitor. My original one barely took any readings in comparison and just never seemed to function correctly. Towards the end, it was reading so incorrectly that it left me confused for awhile about why my fitness level seemed to have changed so drastically according to my Garmin. Turns out it was just the heart rate monitor not working properly. As soon as I strapped on the new one, I get constant readings and they make sense again. Glad I purchased this, should have done it way sooner.

I grabbed this to pair with my Fenix 7X Solar while training for my first 10k. Far more accurate than the wrist based readers, masses more deta allowing me to get the most out of training sessions.The HRM connects automatically to the watch as soon as it's put on, never had a single issue. Recommended
I was looking to upgrade my HR chest strap and wanted to get the latest and greatest Garmin to go with my watch. I was having a hard time finding it in stock anywhere. Heart Rate Monitors USA had it in stock and the shipping was quick. So far I am pleased with the device and all the new data I am able to review after a run. The battery is easy to replace and the strap is very comfortable.
I may find this device more useful in the future. I would probably have returned it, if not for ordering it as a bundle with my Forerunner 955. I reached out to the Garmin tech support, via chat feature, to assist in issue I was having with pairing the HRM-Pro Plus with my 955 watch. The person at the other end was disinterested in assisting me and giving me attitude.
Really happy with this purchase - I've owned three heart rate monitors before, an older garmin ANT+ and two Wahoo BLE & ANT+ models and this one takes the cake.The fit / getting it on is a bit different than other models - since the hook is on the side, but other than that it fits well, is easy to clean and works well.A bit expensive, but buy cheap buy twice...(or in my case three times).
Setting up was stupidly easy. On my watch I went to add sensor and it immidiately picked up. I then decided to add to my Garmin Connect app and as soon as I pressed add device it said would you like to add the Garmin HRM Pro Plus. Very pleasantly surprised how smooth that was to add. The readings from it work very well too they react a lot quicker to change than my Fenix 7 and seem very accurate to me. Overall very happy with this purchace
Like anyone else looking to buy this, I chose this to get more accurate HR data than what my garmin watch provides. I chose the pro plus because I can wear it for swim workouts as well. The strap is a bit sharp around the sensor, and after an ironman (so about 14 hours of wearing it tucked under the bottom of my sports bra), I had a nice cut where the bottom of the strap had dug in. That was the first time it happened, but also the longest I've worn the strap.
