The lovely platinum GHDs I’d bought in 2017 decided to stop working at the beginning of December 2021 so I bought another pair of GHDs as I’d been so happy with my previous pair. I am really disappointed with my new purchase as they don’t straighten my hair as well as the other pair. I have to keep going over the same sections again and again but the overall finish is not as I would expect from GHDs. Had I not had them personalised I would have returned the straighteners as I’m unhappy with my purchase.

I received my platinum + today after super quick delivery. I had a basic MUK straightner prior to this purchase, so this is my first time owning a GHD. I am super impressed with this straightner, it effortlessly glides through the hair without any snagging or pulling or crunchy sounding hair. I have pretty straight hir but it kicks out at towards the bottom and with one glide of the GHD it straightens and smooths the hair. It tamed the frizzy and broken hairs to reveal soft and shiny hair. Very impressed.

I did a lot of research as to what straightener to but and GHD shined. I was so excited to spend the $ on such a great product for myself. I don’t like it. And unfortunately didn’t figure it out until the short return window had passed by a day. It pulls my hair instead of gliding. So when I straighten it, I have to release and wheeze several times, and ir shows a little bit in the result on my hair. It’s hard to curl also because of this feature. Otherwise, I love everything else about it. The way it feels in my hand is great. The auto shut off. And the cute noise it makes when it turns on. I wanted to love it. I’m trying to sell it now. I’m so sad.
I absolutely love this straightener! The colour is gorgous, as well as the additional emerald case that it comes with. The straightener leaves my hair feeling super soft, with a lovely shine and I no longer need to worry about my hair starting to curl throughout the day - this is the best straightener to help hold your desired style. Super quick cool down time also, so I don't need to worry about leaving them when I am in a morning rush; a perfect gift. :)
I bought this in the January sales, love the pewter colour on these, the green box and they are nice to hold. However, when I got them the plates concerned me, I know GHDs have a gap for the hair to pass through but the plates weren’t flush when you put them together part of the top plate overhangs the bottom. They are no longer smooth when going through the hair and they pull in places. My originals died after many faithful years service and I was thinking, rather mistakenly, that if these were great then they could only improve but sadly I was wrong.
The gold styling straighteners look beautiful, great colour and stylish. They were easy to use, heat up quickly and glide through my hair easily and comfortably - the silicon tip cover is a god send for cooling safely. All good - until today. Turned them on, they heated up (it doesn’t take long to style my jaw length hair), half way through styling the power button starts flashing red and the straighteners start beeping. Tried to turn off, nothing. Unplugged (finished styling with old straighteners). Waited until cool to try again - still red flashing light accompanied by beeps every few seconds. For this I am returning the straighteners, which is a shame as I’ve loved them since Christmas.
Extremely happy I bought these for my daughter. I didn't realise how different ghds were to normal standard straighteners. I used them thinking my hair would fluffy out on the ends. But pleasantly surprised.I actually said sorry to my daughter for not buying them sooner.I am very tempted to buy a pair for me!Only downside when purchased, I qualified for a free product a hairbrush but never received it!
Bought these some time ago. They are very stylish to look at and beautifully presented but I think that’s where the positives end. The plates are inferior to my very first pair of GHDs and I wasn’t overly impressed with their straightening ability. They do make it easy to curl the hair but I didn’t find my hair was left smooth and shiny. I shall revert to the rivals I’m afraid which I find to far superior, if less stylish.
I'm a long term fan of ghd and had to wait my old ghd to brake to buy a new one (lasted more than 10 years!!! they are so good....) so when it finally the time arrived, I went for what is supposed to be the best....and INDEED IT IS...never tried such an amazing product, I have long thick hair and it works perfectly and the feeling is so great after using it.like many ghd's it also turn off automatically (I'm so bad rushing out in the morning and forgetting to turn it off... saved my life already few times!)Definitely recommend to buy!
