I am very impressed with the unplugged cordless straightener. My first impressions as someone who is always running late is that these will be an absolute game changer for me. They are fairly small and compact and come with a lovely heatproof carry case which is perfect for putting in your bag. I have used it every day since receiving it to style my hair.I have shoulder length, really straight hair and have always struggled to curl it with straighteners in a way that didn’t just look like a kink in the middle - these straighteners changed that!I found that the narrower plates resulted in more defined curls than traditional straighteners achieve.I also usually struggle to curl my hair with straighteners but it was so much easier with the Unplugged. Perfect timing - my cordless GHD arrived just after I’d had my hair done at my hairdresser’s and before I was due to go away for the weekend. Normally I’d hesitate to take my plug-in GHDs because of the extra weight but my cordless GHD slipped into my handbag and was incredibly light. Big tick. My hair is thick and prone to frizz, struggling in certain weather conditions to stay straight and under control. With the cordless version I was able to banish the frizz quickly and frequently and this was made even easier by how incredibly light it was. No cord meant I wasn’t restricted to being near a plug socket AND a mirror so could just focus on finding the best light. For me and my thick and wavy long hair the cordless GHD wouldn’t work as a replacement for my standard ... This is a great product! Works exactly like a normal straightener but for use on the go. It didn't take long to charge up, charge is clearly indicated by the lights which while using you will see going off and can judge how much time you have left. I have mainly used these for days that I have been in the office and then am heading out afterwards. The straighteners are smaller than the usual straighteners which means they fit in my handbag along with all my other bits and bobs no problem. They heat up quickly and come with a heat proof bag which is really handy to be put in before putting back in my handbag. The GHD Unplugged seems like a great solution to this. On first impression the stylers look good quality, however I did find the switch a little bit plasticky and prefer the old circular power button on other GHD products. The sound also only appears when turning on/hot, rather than when turning off (although with a sliding switch I guess it's easy to tell they're off). The unboxing experience is lovely as always. The styler and it's carry case (which I love and actually keep out on display) is beautifully presented with the plug/cord easy to find ... MoreFor me, the GHD unplugged straightener has proven to be a real game changer…it’s a cordless styler that can not only be used on the go but also charged easily via a number of sources whilst delivering the same results that I see from my main corded GHD straightener. One thing to note is that it can’t be used whilst it is being charged, however, as it has the ability to charge on the go due to the USB-C charging cable this hasn’t been an issue for me; there is also a battery level indicator on the tool itself which is super useful to help you know when to charge. One thing that really stands out is just how lightweight and compact the straightener is with another key element for me being that the plates don’t seem to have been compromised in either the technology or their size which came as a pleasant surprise. GHD look to have thought about everything when it comes to this on the go straightener as it even comes with a small heat resistant carry case which fits perfectly in to my handbag; I initially I thought this was a cute novel addition but following use have realised just how helpful this is because it means I can quite literally pack the straightener in to the case and put straight in to my bag after use without having to wait for it to cool down first; this is perfect if you’re short on time or running late! Overall I think the unplugged cordless hair straightener is a fantastic addition to the GHD collection, has real purpose and delivers everything that it set out to whilst retaining the quality that I have come to expect from GHD, it is a stylish, compact and powerful tool which I absolutely recommend!

They did do a good job, it just took longer…They have however been amazing for between washes and those speedy touch ups when you’re in a hurry!! I’ll be travelling for work next week & these will definitely be coming with me. They’re so compact, I wouldn’t hesitate to pop them in my bag if I was out for the day and it was wet or humid etc too so I could quickly tidy up my style!I’ve used them quite a few times now without charging, so have been impressed at how much you get from the battery and would say you definitely do get a good 20 mins! I would pack my charger though if I was going away, just in case.Overall, I was really impressed with these! For longer thicker hair, I think they are a great partner for their full sized friend, and for shorter hair, I think these would do the job on their own!

I averaged with 2 sessions of 10-15 minutes and then a session of 5-7 minutes the following day to touch up hair style from one charge and then 2 sessions of continuous use and averaged 20 minutes - this was more than enough.One negative was that I was unable to get the same time on the second use (of one charge) as the battery life depleted much quicker using in 2 sessions compared to 1 continuous session.Battery life quality - as mentioned max time would be around 20 minutes for continuous styling which I feel isn't ideal for some but it does do the job it's meant to do. A full charge takes approx 2 hours - the battery bars will be fully luminated when it's fully charged so it's easy to tell when it's charged and the battery bars are visible during usage.Value for money - I don't think the price tag warrants the styler however, but if they were priced closer to normal corded straighteners then this would be better value for money. These do the same job as a corded pair but would mean more charging time to use daily like that.Features - They are smaller than an normal paid of ghds but this makes them easier and lighter to hold. Easy to carry and the built in heat proof mat within the case is very useful. They are compact and also easy to store or keep in my bag on a trip/night out if I needed them. The temperature is the same as a corded pair of ghds which makes styling a breeze.Summary - I wouldn't necessarily rely on them like my normal straighteners knowing the battery life isn't perfect but they definitely do a very similar job to them and are very good quality. I would definitely recommend purchasing these if they were more reasonably priced, but they are definitely a quality item that does provide a very similar result to corded straighteners in my opinion.

As I have very thick curly frizzy hair, i tend to use the GHD Max for speed, and finish the roots with the original styler. The unplugged is an exciting innovation and great for what is advertised (top ups). I have found the quoted times to be roughly accurate - 2 hours to full charge & I get about 15 mins usage. This meant that when I tried doing a full head from scratch it took me three full charges. I had to spend the day straightening inbetween other tasks, to go out in the evening. Because of my hair type, I require a second charge to get a polished look if my hair has gone quite wavy again, but if I don’t want to top up the full mane but just go over sections it is achievable.The straighteners are lightweight, compact and stylish, and come with a useful travel bag. The heat protect spray smells amazing! I find the barrel slightly awkward but not prohibitively so and I think over time I will get more used to it: it does mean I can’t get right into the roots though the way I hold it. Although the straighteners feel warm not hot, I am really impressed with the results that can be achieved at this temperature, and this is an education to me in being kinder to my hair (I ceased using the GHD Platinum as they didn’t feel as hot as the GHD Original or Max). The straighteners make a pleasing sound when they are ready for use.I’d like to see future versions allowing for longer usage with a shorter charging time, but the GHD unplugged is a great addition to any handbag.
