I like to use this paint on smooth surfaces such as gesso board, but it works great on well sanded canvas as well. The pigment is very rich, just a tiny bit on the tip of the brush can produce beautiful color that goes a surprisingly long way on the canvas. I do use a slightly thicker titanium white from another brand when I am trying to mask an area to paint over, as the white from these Golden fluid paints sometimes requires 2 coats in my experience. A wet palette is highly recommended, because these spread thin on the palette and as such dry very quickly. I like that I can paint almost like gouache without having to thin the paint with a medium or water like I would with heavy body acrylics. Love this shade of purple! I have finally found my perfect shade of purple. Light or a heavy coat it is the quintessential color of purple. A little goes a long way so you get your money's worth.

I used this as exterior paint on primed metal, and planning to use MSA spray varnish to weatherproof it. The colors are powerful strong, but I'm attempting to hide brushstrokes and not quite able to achieve that so far. Now I am adding some water to the paint and that helps hide brushstrokes, but it will be a learning curve, if it can be accomplished at all. Primary Magenta and Pyrole Orange are explosively bright and brushstrokes are less visible. Perhaps they are more opaque colors than the Cobalt Blue and Pthalo Green Yellow Shade.

I adore creating with Golden Acrylics. Dick Blick's fabulous prices and swift shipping make it so easy to create with the best products available. Why buy any other way? I feel like a little girl on Christmas when my Dick Blick box arrives.I am a prographic designer and creator of The Amazing Doll series. My one of a kind dolls are turned from wood, embellished with pyrography and finally carefully painted. I use only the very best products when creating each doll! Golden acrylics are always colorfast, true and perfect for mixing and blending. The results are always brilliant! Many thanks, Dick Blick, for helping me to bring my dreams into reality!
I use Golden Fluid Acrylics to paint collages and abstracts. These paints allow me to layer colors. This paint is very vivid when I use them undiluted. I love the variety of colors also. This review is for all the paint.
I didn't think I would love this color as much as I do. Makes wonderful glazes, mixtures and has a great color profile to it. The paint is quality and you don't need much to paint a good amount. It's now one of my regular colors.#blicksweepstakes
Like the Sap Green, I bought a small (1 oz) bottle to try this out for a pepper painting I was working on. Now I want to use it for everything! It's a luscious color and it tints to a very sweet pink. It's inspired me to look for projects that call for it. I'm thinking I might do roses next!#sweepstakes
I love the fluid mixing colors. I've been using a heavy acrylic for a while, but Golden fluid acrylics are my new fav. They're pigmented so beautifully. Great coverage for such a thin fluid.
I've tried many brands of acrylics. There are others I thought I liked, but these Golden Fluid Acrylics have risen to the top. I tend to thin heavier bodied paints anyway, so why not use these already to the perfect consistency without dilution? The color choices are great and they have lots of pigment. I've also to my great dismay discovered that many brands of my acrylic paints in almost full and unopened tubes, have started to harden in the tube even being fully closed, or changed their consistency to become gritty. Not these; I have had some partial bottles, even small ones, for years now and they are still perfect. I paint in thin layers so that makes these a very economical choice, especially knowing they won't harden if I get a color I only use once in a ... MoreI've tried many brands of acrylics. They combine well with Golden's other fluid acrylics like the Matte line and the High Flow. I couldn't happier, unless I could afford to buy them all.#sweepstakes
I love the transparency of this Yellow Iron Oxide. It's one of my favorite colors to put down before beginning an oil & cold wax painting. It gives a warm glow in the places it later shows through. #sweepstakes
