The scythe was already broken when i got it. The material is pretty cheap (i guess you get waht you pay for), and it quickly snapped in half. The place where you screw the "blade" on also got split, so I couldn't screw it on the rod. I didnt get to use it for halloween because it broke. But the it came on time, so that is sort of a plus.

I bought online and picked up at a local store. I called them back and told them about the product height same day. Today I went to return it and they say they can't refund me the money because of Party City's policy which says they accept returns a week before and they asked me to exchange for some other Halloween merchandise. PARTY CITY SUCKS!!!!

I liked the fact that it was light weight plastic. And, it was also a part of my grandchild's costume which her mother decided to leave at home.
My son went as the grim reaper. The scythe is a decent size for a kid. But it's not meant to be played with at all. The first time he swung the scythe around, he accidentally hit the door frame & broke it - it actually cracked the staff down the middle, and was beyond repair. We bought a second one, and the first time he swung it, he didn't hit anything. And the top part flew off anyway. We tried gluing it back together, but it didn't stay, and he left it at home. I wouldn't recommend this at all for a kid. If you're an adult who will be careful, it may be ok.
Got this to use as part of my Grandson's "Grim Reaper" Halloween costume. It is lightweight plastic but more than sturdy enough for the intended purpose. It came assembled and looks fairly realistic. My Grandson and I agree that it was well worth the cost and enhanced his costume significantly.
This is a great accessory but not made very well. Broke the minute my son used it.
We received this in the mail cracked and damaged! The plastic was so cheap it bent just holding it. I bought this for my 8 year boy for Halloween. He was very disappointed. We ended up duct taping it because I figured getting another one was a waste of money!
I received it broke..not shipped in decent packaging..I taped it together instead of using gas to return it
I bought this as part of my 7 yr old son's Halloween costume. It is a thinner plastic, but is the correct quality for the price point. This is not a durable item that can be used for play fighting. It is definitely a prop.
