It's not like he can just switch over to carrying around a bouquet of flowers at this point in the game, so the living souls he intends to harvest will constantly run in fear of him, lest they catch a glimpse of that pointy weapon. The good news is, a scythe makes for a pretty fun accessory to wield when you're dressing up Death! This Reaper Scythe looks just like one carried by the legendary Grim Reaper. Of all the options out there online. This is probably your best bet. The look and the feel, and the length is just right in my picky opinion. The assembly where it screws together mid-way down the staff is a little janky, but it is solid enough, and is really quite an impressive accessory for a Grim Reaper costume. Worth it!

That is exactly what my kids were looking for. Right after Halloween, my kids were already preparing for next year's costume and they both wanted a scythe. This one is huge and realistic, as tall as my 10 year old and taller than my 7 year old.
Nice and rustic looking. Fit was ok. Scythe head was a little loose. Some hot glue fixed it up. There are about 8 ~1/8th inch holes in handle for packaging purposes. Handle comes in two peices. Maybe company can redo packaging so holes are not needed. Was able to use prop to hide holes.
The Scythe comes unassembled and you must put together, which is fine however the couplings at both points of assembly cracked immediately upon twisting the pieces together. The over all quality of the rest of the Scythe is nice hard plastic with a great paint job. For what I paid I'd much rather not have to play DIY to get it to stay together. But if you want a nice looking unique Scythe and don't mind getting handy to fix the assembly then this is the one for you. I used duct tape on the handle and wrapped twine around the tape. And where the Scythe meets the handle I used Gorilla Glue and wrapped twine around.
It looks great, I wish it was more durable. It’s flimsy as it comes in 3 parts but if you tighten too much it will crack. Over all 4/5 as it is 5 foot and looks bad ass. Hope it lasts till after the party and next year.
At about $6 this is the chaepest you can buy this plastic sickle/scythe. Spirit sells this same one for about $25. The only downfalls to this product is that the overall price was doubled due to shipping. The other criticism I have is that because the staff comes in two parts ( the blade is a third part) it needs to be handled csrefully or I can see it breaking where it screws together. So I wouldn't swing this around too wildly.
I'm 5'2 and bought this for a Susan Sto-Helit costume I was constructing for myself.It made the outfit. It just made the outfit.It was the perfect size for a realistic look on someone my height. Looked wonderfully real. People kept coming up to look at it.Easy to put together and take apart.Great quality.Loved it!
I'd say that this is the best looking Reaper Scythe I've been able to find anywhere! There's not much bad that can be said about it. Even one of the things that I initially thought might be bad about it, its entirely plastic construction, turned out to be to my advantage when going to a convention. This is because many conventions don't allow for carry around props to feature any type of metal; not even an armature. Since this is an entirely plastic prop, there should be no problem when taking it to any kind of convention or cosplay event.
