I've been using this heated razor for well over a year now. Blades last amazingly well by the way. It is always a pleasure and in fact a treat to use this razor. Shaving has become not only quicker but infinitely more enjoyable.Here's the real truth---I would not have purchased this razor because of the price. My wife gave it to ma s a Christmas gift. I will be forever grateful to her and strongly recommend this to anyone else---this is a true innovation in shaving. I would definitely buy the product now having used it.

Absolutely the Best Shave A Man Can Get

I have been shaving for along time. I’ll never forget how exited I was to get my first Atra razor. That was the razor every kid had to have in high school. Then as technology advanced it was the Sensor, the Fusion and now the Proglide. I have even gone nostalgic and used my grandfather’s Gillette Fatboy safety razor with much fanfare learning a new skill. It was fun but when you are on the run like I am you have to shave at a faster pace.Sure I have also tried other great brands and they are good, but nothing really shaved my face so perfectly and as close as the five blade Proglide with the adjustable head to get into the tight rounded corners of my chin.Once I noticed the new Heated version I just had to have it and finally got it for Christmas. For an exceptionally high priced product to be of such low quality is truly bad business practice. What I have experienced first hand with this product is a the manifestation of a rapidly accelerating pace in the devolution of quality, an ever more unapologetic devotion to the bottom line and a gross loss of value for the loyal consumer and the betrayal of expectations created by years of previously well-made, reliable and reasonably priced products. It speaks volumes on how bad decisions often may work out. for a brand that once offered a product that never failed to now market this gimmicky product, one, in my opinion, is designed with early obsolescence and quick profits as the guiding principles, is a breach of trust, to say the least.The blades that go with this razor, in my experience, feel like barely resharpened and quite possibly poorly recycled materials. Within less than 3 shaves, these become quite painful to use and often cause a cut or abrasion if there is the slightest error in one's shaving stroke. The razor, as I noted above, failed with no warning and very suddenly as if to pose the question: which is worse, the blade or the razor!The Proctor and Gamble juggernaut seems concerned solely by swift, short-term profitability above all else, profit at any cost and by maximizing the number of units sold before the consumers become wise to the obfuscated strategy. For the long term, in my opinion, a strategy that cares only for the bottom line and evidences no concern for high quality, long-lived goods does not care for its customers.I was disappointed more than I can say by this gimmicky razor. My older razors, also made by Gillette, some of which are over a decade old, are still providing me with excellent, reliable service. This one, in my opinion, is a poster child for High cost Low quality, Over promise Under delivery.

Failed after less than 6 months

Don’t buy it. Bought this thinking it would last more than a few years (2). It did not. The first heated razor I received didn’t make it six months before wires became exposed from where you release the cartridge. It was replaced. One and a half years later (just outside of warranty) it started to flash orange and would not heat up. I messaged Gillette and was told that it could not be fixed and that they would not replace it. I was told I could get a discount on my next one. I declined.Don’t buy this razor. Buy a regular razor that will last you more than 1 1/2 years. Now I have a bulky razor that works the same as a regular razor with cartridges that cost way more.

Great Shave With Unnecessary(?) Features

I’ve always been very simple in my shaving routine, preferring generic disposable 3 blade razors. When I got this Proctor & Gamble (Gillette) Heated Razor I wasn’t sure what to expect, why did it matter if the razor heated up on top of having five blades? The box is fancy, as you can see in the pictures, and opens much like a tech gadget with a slip case over the actual box which contains the razor handle, a magnetic charging “puck”, two bladed heads, and the AC adapter to plug into the wall and puck. As a product the handle is hefty without being heavy, it feels like a quality product and durable too! The neck bends side to side as well as the standard head back and forth movement so you can really work the contours of your face. I don’t know how to feel about the charging base, as its small enough to be unimposing but I prefer to have my 24/7 charging products not next to a sink that fills and splashes water almost 24/7 (although the box says the charge lasts six shaves and only takes 2-3 hours so you could just charge it when it needs to). While charging it pulses a white light, which made for a fair night light briefly when I charged it for the first time. I have yet to run out of charge so I can verify the battery does last for several sessions. I appreciated the five blade shaving, I was able to get a good smooth face without a lot of repeating areas, but it wasn’t much better than three blades.However the point of this product is the heating pad under the blades which offers you a “hot towel” shaving experience. I don’t know why you would want a hot towel experience but I know that it’s not for me. I found that shaving with the hot/red mode felt like shaving with a hot poker. When I tried the warm/yellow setting it still felt like something fresh out of the dishwasher against my face which I found unpleasant. I assume this has something to do with opening pores and getting a closer cleaner shave but to me it won’t be worth the discomfort of coming just this side of burning myself to get a slightly smoother shave. While I am sure that I could become accustomed to the warm/yellow mode I doubt I’ll make the effort.Refills for the razor are available for a quarter the cost of the razor, which is not too bad depending how often your shave (blades are advertised to last 15 shaves, which for me is about a month….more or less). However generic razors, even five blade razors are a fraction of that so unless you need a heated razor I don’t feel I could recommend this product to the average shaving Joe.

I've been an electric razor user for over 30 years (braun and norelco top of the line $$$) and after realizing how expensive (replacement heads/cleaning solutions), cleaning stations breaking and using a separate electric razor for my dome. I decided to give this a try for both after seeing "mixed" reviews (some people are just never happy). It's been a week now and I use beard oil, Gillette gel, and after shave balm I will be honest and say my face was a tad bit irritated more than electric but the shave is insanely close on my face and head! I'm sure the switch after 30 years has some adjustment period and every day the irritation is less and less. I got the Bugatti edition and it is really nice looking and so easy to use. Got for Xmas. Was super excited, as I'm a long time Gillette fan, and recently have gotten into the online buying when they had a free razor deal. I had seen the heated, but don't spend money on myself like that, especially if it feels like a luxurious version of something I already have. I guess I'd rather spend on the kids or wife. A hundred and fifty bucks isn't a big deal to most people I know. But it's plenty to a lot more people than I know. And even though my wife's money is part of "our money," I know she squirreled this razor money away doing extra work to surprise me. And I screwed it all up.My advice is to try this thing if its no big deal if it isn't a miracle or even too impressive. Do not ask for this as a gift! Do not hint you want one! You can get in big trouble.

Shoddy product masquerading as luxury

This is the best shaving foam I've ever used

For most of my adult life, I've used traditional shaving soaps. Shaving soaps typically produce a much thicker lather than shaving foams or gels. Shaving soaps typically last longer, too. However, after recently trying this shaving foam, I have to say it's on par with my favorite shaving soaps.Here's why:1. This foam dispenses substantially thicker than any other foam I've ever used.2. The lather from this foam is amazing. It's the only foam I've ever used that continues to lather up as it's applied.3. I absolutely love the cooling sensation this foam provides.4. I have not once had irritation on any portion of my face while using this foam.5. A can of this foam last for a shockingly long time.
