Black metal finish to the top with flush plastic fittings to finish off around the illuminations on the deckplate.The encoders feel really sturdy & like they will last as does everything else.The RGB pads are awesome and with a nice rubber feel to them.Love the loop features & the vinyl, slip & quantise functions for a controller of this price really great to see on this unit.Looping is so simple with the encoder & the in/out buttons. Hot cues work well.The assistant works well in DJuced and will select similar tunes to aid you.Yet to try Serato but DJuced works just great.The microphone input with EQ's is superb I love this feature.The fact you have an Aux Input for devices with a 3mm jack socket is awesome, what other unit at this price range does that?Now the bits that I wasn't sure about.The beat match on a 4 x 4 tune works lovely but on anything else it's better to just beat match by ear but then I guess that's what we should be doing anyway? Might confuse a newbie to start off with a bit?You can turn this feature on or off and for me I didn't find it particularly helpful.2 little gripes I had were the pitch fader and the crossfader could do with slightly more resistance if i'm being picky.The unbalanced outputs mean you have to balance your gains for the level of tune you are playing would of liked those to be balanced really.Would I buy it again? Without hesitation yes definitely. Great controller, great price.It will grow with me as I develop and should last me a good few years I hope.DJ Kit were very good as the shipment was held up but when the items I ordered turned up they were quick & well packaged.Will definitely use again without hesitation. I'm new to the world of dj digital controllers and decided to give this one ago, for the money and what it has to offer I found it very pleasing to use without braking the bank, I'm an old Skool Technics SL1200 dj and still love them after all the years.But it was time to have ago in the digital world and for the price and what paid for the Hercules Inpulse 500 offers for a little over £200 it's a great unit with plenty of interesting features. Now it brings me to the service of djkit I'm impressed with there service and Mark who I've spoke to over the phone a good few times now over other items I've bought from djkit the service to delivery has been a perfect experience.Ps djkit I will be buying more stuff soon, keep up with the great service you provide.👍
Amazing DJ controller from Hercules it looks & feels great, it is exactly a controller with a host of features. Comes with DJUCED & Serato lite. I already have Serato pro licence. Easy to use & to set up. Lights are amazing underneath the controller. It has a host of inputs & outputs ideal for me I no longer need a separate mixer the Hercules inpulse 500 a fantastic piece of machine for such an affordable price.
I got this compact controller to travel with on planes for a specific job I have. It's really solidly made with all the elements you need. Look past the name because you need to remember that Hercules have been in this market for many years. This would be a perfect entry level controller too.
I ordered the Impulse 500 after carefully studying the reviews of equipment by more established DJ brands such as Pioneer and Numark. I'm using it with Djuced software and it is brilliant. All the controls are tight, responsive and feel very premium indeed.I also tried it with Serato Pro but my pc doesn't meet the requirements so I cannot leave a fair review of that, but to be honest Djuced is perfect for my needs.Highly recommended!
After watching countless reviews of beginner controllers, I finally decided this was the one. Reasons: 1. Not small 2. Well built. Works with Serato 3. Free DJUCED software which I'm using as it unlocks all of the controller features 5. Beginners like me can quickly learn with the beat matching feature. 6. DJCOACH training videos are Awesome! For anyone who is contemplating get this controller you're not going to be disappointed! DJ Kalifornia-Enjoy!
I'm quite new to DJ'ing and so far, this has been a great piece of hardware; I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a DJ controller with a lot of... Options. The eight cue points/samples are quite handy, and while I'm not really using the DJUCED software (I prefer Mixxx), if you choose to use it, you'll have access to the beatmatch guide, which comes in handy. If I have one wish, it's that "Vegas Mode" were a little more exciting- this thing's got a ton of RGB lights but it doesn't put on that much of a show with them, which is a pity. That's no condemnation, however- it would just be icing on the cake to be able to make the lights pulse to your music, or something along those lines. Overall, I recommend it.
This piece of kit is amazing! As soon as it arrived I unpacked it and was amazed how well built it is looking mean in my dj area! I mainly sit when mixing so the feet help get the right angle, I put the feet down on the back and front ones tucked in so I get a nice angle. Its so easy to use and for some reason in that two hour mess about it felt effortless. All the buttons feel great the knobs great! I've yet to use it to its full capability but I know its going to be something I'll have for a very long time! Not just any "beginner" controller!!!
