I owned an older version of this stand and had it for many years. I absolutely loved it.Unfortunately it was broken by the movers that moved my household goods. I immediately ordered a new one.The new one has a redesigned locking release to raise and lower the height that is a great improvement over my older model. If you need a guitar stand that holds 2 guitars then this is the one I recommend.

Be warned: this thing wobbles. And it's supposed to, according to the manufacturer. The top assembly does not tighten firmly on the vertical shaft; it's loose, and rotates a little in either direction. This makes the stand feel unstable enough that I'm not inclined to gig with it. Guitars hang on it OK, but the wobble allows them to tilt sideways a bit, and every time you take a guitar on or off it, the position of the yokes shifts slightly. Probably not enough to cause any disasters, but it just doesn't feel solid.I emailed Hercules support, and the response was, "they're all going to be like that."This one's going to stay in the studio, and I'll probably replace it when I can afford to. Very disappointed.

Perfect for gigging with two guitars. I use it for an electric and an acoustic. Works great. Cables don't get tangled. Easy transition between instruments. I was concerned it would be too big for a small stage like a pub, but the footprint can be adjusted making it great for any size stage. Tough construction. This is the best guitar stand I've purchased and one of the best gear investments I've made.

This works out so much better than the regular single guitar stands. No more worries that someone will bump my guitar off the stand. It looks bulky but it really does take up less room and its easy from my stool to switch guitars. The grip that everyone complains about getting sticky has been improved by them going to a regular plastic grip. When folded the hangers at the top flop around but that is easely fixed by a Velcro strap. Carry case is a little pricey but might be worth it. Overall I really like it.
I do not think i will use any other guitar stand going forward. I really like the auto grip feature. I have always gone cheap on my guitar stands... And i keep replacing them. This is a solid guitar stand.
Yes I am a old school Professional Musician, so I expect quality and durability. My guitars and basses are top shelf, expensive instruments. I have always sworn on Hercules stands for on stage. The original design are what I prefer. I still like my 18 Hercules wall hangers which are amazing. But the newly redesigned double stand is a threat to your pride and joy. The main hangers are very loose even after I tightened the loose allen head screw. The folding slip in place fitting is very unstable when I remove a instrument to play. It actually wobbles! I am out on the road and do not want to deal with returning this stand. Glad I bought it on sale with the Rocktober discount and it still isn't worth it. In the near future, I see myself having to fix this stand. ... MoreYes I am a old school Professional Musician, so I expect quality and durability. Players with less experience should be content with this stand, but I have used better and feel this newest generation of Hercules is unstable.
Overall:I bought this so I’d only have to carry one guitar stand instead of two for gigs. I might go back to carrying two. This stand needs to be redesigned; it needs 4 legs instead of 3. It will tip over, especially if there’s only one guitar on it. When folded for transport, the 2 yokes will flop open, so you have to put a large rubber band or Velcro strap around them to prevent this annoyance. The lower support arms should be independently adjustable to accommodate 2 different sized guitars.I love Hercules stands and will continue to use them, but this model needs work.
This Hercules stand is a great stand for two instruments. Good construction, folds in the right places, and is quite secure for two instruments. I use it for holding two bass guitars and works very good. I have only had mine now for about a month. However, this stand is what we use at our church on stage and we have never had a mishap. Has several points of collapse, which takes a little getting used to, but it is pretty easy. Pretty portable. I chose this stand over body type stands because I think the lockable neck clamps of this stand hold a guitar better and i have seen guitars fall right out of body type stands.I got mine on sale at Musicians Friend so the price was right. I highly reccommend this product - wish it was American made.
I had never owned a high quality stand before ordering this Hercules model. Easy to use and fold up after use, super sturdy. I was not expecting to be giddy about such a mundane piece of gear, but this stand exceeded all expectations. Ignore the cheap stuff, this one is worth every penny.
I use this stand to hold a fairly light electro acoustic on one side with a heavier solid electric guitar on the other . Before purchase I was concerned about the stability given the weight difference between guitars , but decided to go ahead with the purchase anyway . I need not have worried , the stand is very stable , even with just one heavy guitar . It is well made although perhaps a tad heavier than I expected , small price to pay for what is a very good practical piece of kit .
