I moved into an apartment and the carpet looked rather old and dingy. I looked into professional carpet cleaning but figured that it probably wouldn't help the look of the carpet too much and it was quite expensive so I decided to buy this Hoover Power Scrub instead. WOW!!! After only one time on the quick wash setting the carpet looks so much better. It even took out the lines on the carpet where there had probably been heavy furniture. I didn't even pre-treat and the carpet looks clean and fluffy. The carpet dried very quickly. The machine was easy to assemble and operating instructions were clear and easy to follow. I had no problem emptying the tank after use. The unit is a bit heavy for me but I just use shorter strokes and do a smaller area of carpet.

Found this carpet cleaner at my local Walmart for $99. At that price, it's an excellent value, but I wouldn't pay more than $159 for this model. Compared to other models I've used, I've noticed this one doesn't get nearly as hot. If you have stains that are stuck onto your carpet, they will have a hard time loosening, so be sure that the water you load into the machine is very hot — maybe around 140°F or more. You will also have to make more passes compared to other models to thoroughly dry the carpet. The advertised 45-minute drying time is unrealistic.The spin brush is more versatile compared to the roller brush most other brands use. Try mixing a small amount of powder and water and brushing it into a hidden area of your carpet just to make sure it looks okay.

The machine is LOUD so I would recommend ear protection when you're using it; it really beats the rug, leaving some little tufts of pile so I would not use it on delicate rugs or Oriental carpets. It would also work well for spills, since it has a quick-clean mode or suck-only mode. I would totally recommend this machine and would buy it again. The only reason I decided to buy it was that all the stores that used to rent Rug Doctor machines in my area no longer do so. I wish I had bought this years ago - I would have saved a bundle on the rentals and gotten the same results without having to drive to the store and rush the machine back within the 24-hour rental period.

Overall this carpet cleaner seems to do a great job, I've cleaned my carpets twice now (approx 750 sq ft of carpet each time) and my carpets look great! Honestly, I think they look cleaner than when I have the professional Steemer company come do them. Cons: It is very time consuming. I had to refill the clean water tank and dump the dirty tank after approximately every 80 sq ft section. Also, the dirty tank sensor would engage when the water was only 1/3 full, I think it was sensing the foam bubbles but it caused me to have to dump the tank even more often. (I tried Bissell cleaner the second time and didn't have the excess foam issue)The power cord is really short. The power button is hard to hit with your foot unless the cleaner is locked upright- mostly just an ... Bought this when it was on sale for about 60% off. I bought it for removing stains on my carpet and was worried it was geared more for pets. However, the vacuum did an AWESOME job removing coffee stains on the carpet that was there months ago. I did spray some carpet stain remover before but it did a great job.I also had a rug that I neglected cleaning for almost two years - I would only vacuum it. This hoover made the rug come back to life!!This hoover also does a great job with removed hair and fur from carpet. It also does awesome with its "Drying" mode and doesn't leave the carpet too wet if you don't want it to.I used the hose compartment for my carpet stairs and was surprised but how well it did too for just being a hose with an adapter.Would recommend!
I had to send it in for repair after having it for 14 months because it stopped suctioning. Assurion sent me a gift card via mail. It's been well over 7-10 business days, so I made contact again. They're resending me a gift card, and I should receive it in 1-2 business days. Hopefully, I get that card soon because I need to clean my carpets, I run a dog rescue and get a lot of accidents.Now I have to research for another one. For some reason carpet lint was getting through the seals and blocking input air to the motor vacuum impellar. After disecting the motor it seemed that the blockage caused the motor to overheat and damage one of the two main bearings... Apparently when someone borrowed the machine they did not pre vacuum which is necessary to keep the machine unclothed... These are 'consumer' machines and must not be overused and used in a manner reflecting that limitation. I Have a 20 year old Hoover that still works pretty good. I have torn into it to clean out but never an issue with the motor. If able to do so I recommend replacing a bad motor on these machines properly to extend usage. My ... Liked enough to replace with same model. My first one last a little longer than a year with heavy use. The local authorized repair depot said they can’t get parts to repair Hover carpet cleaners. My only options was to buy a new one. Make sure you buy with an extended warranty option such as a credit card that doubles the original warranty time. The hose attachment needs to be cleaned thoroughly as the soap will clog the spray end making it useless. Mine attachment work 3 times, about 2 hrs use before it no longer had suction, cleaning its filter did not correct it. After a year the motor suddenly blew what appeared to be black microscopic gasket chunks out stain the carpet and with a high pitched whine no longer had suction.
I'm in love❤ with this carpet cleaner. No wrestling with a heavy bulky rental cleaner. Easy to fill and dump dirty water, it disperses the cleaner automatically to perfection. It cleaned better than store rental. Extremely easy to use and the brushes on bottom help clean rugs or carpet. I had some very tough stains and it did superb..just a little pretreat. I never thought it would perform ad great as it did. Seen some bad reviews and wondered if they correctly used it? Can't imagine it doing a bad job. Just remember to vacumn prior to using the carpet cleaner as it says. Thank Hoover for saving the back if a sixty year old with this easy to use and to put together carpet cleaner. Going to clean car seats next with the accessories.

I usually buy the lift off ones to make stair cleaning easier, as far as I can tell you have to drag this whole thing up the stairs as you go so that is why it lost half of 1 star. The other loss of half a star is because when you get this thing filled with water it becomes top heavy and the downward pressure is pretty great. On the lift off types the clean water and dirty water are both on the wheels and not attached to the handle like this one is. Both the clean water resivours and dirty water seem to hold more than my previous brands so you dont have to go running for refills or ... After reading the reviews I dicided to try this one for its cleaning capabilities and to see if I could get some of the older stains out of my carpet from kids, dogs and husbands. I used the small bottle of enclosed carpet cleaner and it seemed like it made my carpets a little stiffer and not softto walk on. I usually add a few drops of fabric softener to the water to help prevent that but I did not do it this time since I wanted to see how well this cleaner did. Overall this machine is acceptable, we shall see in a few years if it too starts to leak water! I am about ready to either move out of this house or get hardwood flooring that would be easier to take care of anyway so if it lasts several years I will feel like I have gotten my moneys worth.
