HOYA Fog N°0.5 ø82mm Filter

The Hoya 82mm Creative FOG No0.5 Glass Filter is a specialized photographic accessory designed to create subtle fog effects while maintaining image clarity. This 82mm diameter filter features a frosted surface that produces a gentle, dreamlike atmospheric effect across the entire image frame. Unlike conventional soft filters, the FOG No0.5 preserves object sharpness and contrast, achieving a balanced result between soft diffusion and maintained detail. The filter utilizes slit glass technology, where specialized glass is laminated with transparent optical elements in a sandwiched structure to generate its characteristic fog effect. Photographers can control the intensity of the fog appearance by adjusting lens aperture settings, providing creative flexibility. This filter performs exceptionally well in night photography, where it enhances bright areas to create glowing effects, and in landscape photography for creating mythical, atmospheric scenes. The 82mm thread size ensures compatibility with various professional lenses. For stronger fog simulations, this filter can be paired with the FOG No1 model. Constructed from high-quality optical glass, the filter maintains consistent performance while offering durability for regular photographic use. The neutral density effect measures approximately 0.5 stops, making it suitable for various lighting conditions without requiring significant exposure compensation. The filter features standard 82mm mounting threads with precise machining for secure attachment to compatible lenses. Weighing approximately 85 grams, the filter maintains a slim profile that minimizes vignetting on wide-angle lenses. The multi-coated glass surfaces resist fingerprints and are easy to clean with standard lens cleaning materials. This filter represents a specialized tool for photographers seeking to expand their creative options while maintaining optical quality and reliability in diverse shooting environments.
