I put this through my ipad and downloaded amplitube. It worked great...for me until I tried streaming on facebook messanger it shuts down the audio and stops working. I explained my entire set up to a tech. He said it should work. I made sure all the microphone settings were on in Facebook, messenger and amplitube...same thing... No sound. It's going back. If someone can tell me the one solution out of the million I tried I would appreciate it. I'm going through a powered mixer where my guitar, mic and piano are hooked and going out to the irig through instument input. Odd thing is I can unplug it from the ipad and everything still works. It seems that it just work when you try to stream and play with other band members. Sad. Very sad.

I bought this thinking it would be really awesome to use as an interface to get some good pedal and amp modeling without all of the gear. I am not an Apple user, but I do have a Macbook I use for work purposes. I tried to find Amplitube to use and it is not able to download the app to Macbook. It has to be either iphone or ipad. I used it with the built in garageband app and there is a lot of feedback and static that comes through the speaker when using the pass through fx. I am a little sad about this as I had high hopes.

I bought this at the same time as my new guitar. I asked the salesperson if it had the cable to connect to an IPad Pro (no headphone Jack) or my IPhone (that also has no headphone Jack) he partially cut me off and said yeah as he pointed to the iPad/iPhone Compatible blurb on the box. I don't have a usb-c to headphone adapter for my IPad Pro or a Lightning to headphone adapter for the IPhone. And to use this I would need to find and purchase one or the other. I asked if it came with those abilities without buying anything else and he said that and a guitar cord was All I needed.... I will be returning this the next chance I get to head that direction. This was supposed to take the place of a practice amp to use with the Yousician app. And now I have to find another ... MoreI bought this at the same time as my new guitar. Wanted to try the cheaper model before I invested in a more expensive rig. Works great. Able to hook in with GarageBand and AmpliTube (which is great app, btw). Had few few soundless moments with it, but after trouble shooting (which requires a thought process and logic. If you're incapable of being patient and using your head, then this gadget is too complicated for you) it works great. Works exactly how I need it to work. Will probably upgrade now.
Software hates Windows and is a messy install. You can ruin your Windows 11 email or regular user profile if using OneDrive Free. The installs are flaky and uninstalls are brutal to remove it completely. No phone support. No Windows support abilities that they can use to help you. It's as if every individual thing you get to install was designed by different teams. They "dont understand" IT questions. If you intend to go that far anyway and also add the iRig HD 2 there is NO ANDROID compatibility. It seemed a nice thing to add, as I have used IK before (no longer will work in Product Manager), but after a torturous 2 weeks of trying it all got returned. Nice sounds I guess if you go iOS. That OS has an app. Too bad they are not good at this yet. Use REVO to ... MoreSoftware hates Windows and is a messy install. 1. There is no Amplitube app for Android, despite saying it is Android compatible in the description. Ok, I'll install it on my iPad...2. Amplitube comes with only one amplifier usable by default. But, even with the gain at 0, there is distortion, so no clean sound available. Ok, I'll buy the amp pack...3. Unlocking everything in the app will cost $210! Nowhere does it mention this. Ok, I will use some 3rd party apps...4. The latency on this is very noticeable, tested on multiple devices with multiple apps. That means if you're trying to practice with a metronome or click track, using the iRig will actually make you a worse musician! Ok, I will return it then...5. Wish me luck...
I can't believe how horrible this thing is.It is so noisy that it's unusable to make a decent recording. If I'm using a high gain patch, I can actually hear the television through the amp.It acts like a microphone with all the noise in the room.If I grip the interface in my hand, it muffles it some. It's obviously a design issue. It desperately needs more shielding. The many people complaining that this device is noisy are 100% correct.(I found this out the hard way....)
I got it in the mail less than a week after I ordered it. I was scared how well this product would work with my Squire and iPhone 11 Pro Max on garageband. I wanted to record songs on the go without having to carry around several amps. I was scared it wasn't going to work well or at all but I hooked it up to an official apple 3.5 mm jack to 8 pin lightning adapter and it worked wonders! It definitely gets the job done, and records well, (dont panic if you cant hear it, it takes some adjusting in garageband to hear your own audio feedback). The only thing is when you do hear your feedback it isn't very clear sounding. Its muffled and slightly grainy but I can't complain much for $50! I definitely recommend if you're on a budget and looking for something quick to plug ... MoreI got it in the mail less than a week after I ordered it. I haven't had a single issue with this thing. I bought it with the intention of using GarageBand and Amplitube for iOS. Then I decided to see if I could use it with my Mac. So far I've been able to use it with Amplitube 4, Logic Pro X, GarageBand for Mac, Revalver, Neural DSP, and STL Amphub without a hitch and no additional drivers. Anyone saying that it only works with Amplitube clearly hasn't tried. (That said, I haven't tried it with Windows, but IK never said it was Windows compatible.) It even handles the signal from my pedalboard into Logic Pro very well. For someone looking for a good, high quality beginner guitar interface, look here because it works well, and it sounds great for the price.
I've known about the iRig series for over 10 years, and I wanted something that would simplify recording my guitar, keyboard, and electric violin, so I took a chance and purchased the IK Multimedia iRig 2 audio interface. I expected it to work fine with my iPad Mini (generation 1) and my iPhone 7 (using Apple's Lightning to 3.5mm adapter), though I also assumed that it would not work when I tried connecting it my Lenovo laptop's headset input. To my surprise, it actually did work with my laptop.I have yet to really tap into the iRig 2's fullest potential, and I still need to group all of my audio input apps into one folder on both iPhone and iPad, but so far, I'm very pleased with the IK Multimedia iRig 2.
