I am not a game player. I intend to use this as a home computer as well as a computer for audiophile. The integrated graphics works perfect, absolutely without the need of a dedicated graphic card. Everything works out quite ideal for me; of course, it suits me very well budgetwise. Very satisfied with this i5 CPU chip, absolutely no need of i7 or i9 chip as advised to me from PB Tech. Thanks a lot, PB Tech for your advice, saving me a lot of unnecessary money.

Had an i5-6600k paired with a gtx 1070 that could barely handle 1440p at low settings. Once I added a vertical 1440p monitor, couldn’t run most games. Much needed upgrade and on the cheaper end after grabbing a ddr4 lga 1700 board. If you are gonna grab this, make sure your board has bios flashback. Only way to update the bios to work with 13th gen intel is through the flashback, otherwise it will NOT work. Bought a b660 that didnt have flashback and had to return to get a z690 with it.

I upgraded from 3700x. I kept my DDR4 RAM and switched platforms for a balanced upgrade in performance. This CPU does not disappoint. 5800x3d was on my mind but I needed a boost in production workloads. Staying with DDR4 will not be as good as DDR5 but if that’s absolutely necessary, I’d wait until RAM prices drop even more. i7 isnt worth it if gaming is all you do and minor production. Great upgrade from my i9-9900kf. I did a ton of research and even made the mistake of getting a 12th generation i5 before realizing there was more value in the 13th gen. The performance increase from my old i9 has been noticeable and worthwhile. My mind is at ease knowing my PC is future proofed for at least 4-6 years...Riiiight, I'm an enthusiast and most likely will upgrade before then, but at this point I am satisified with a top-tier i5 and not longing for an i7 or beyond.
Great CPU all around! I purchased 13600K one week after launch and haven't any issues what's so ever. Drivers are stable, works on W10 Pro - 64 bit flawlessly.I got around a 30% performance boost at 1440p gaming (switched from Ryzen 7 5800X, ASUS B550-A, 32GB DDR4 CL16 3600mhz). I've paired i5-13600K w/ ASUS Prime Z790-A, 32GB DDR5 CL36 6000mhz. I was pretty surprised with the perfomance boost which I received, I wanted to try Intel's hybrid Rocket Lake architecture. For those who are NOT just gaming but stream and do some content creation on the side then this CPU is for you. No need to spend $450+ on a CPU anymore.CPU runs at boost frequency of 5.1GHz all the time, temps are 37 idling, 82C when stress testing CPU for 3+ hours (I do have a 360mm AIO though so ... MoreGreat CPU all around! Sure 7600X will game just as well and do all daily tasks just as well... But it loses to 13600K in every other category. When you look at productivity 13600K is on par with i7-12700K and Ryzen 7 7700X (in some cases even beats 7700X and 5900X). Just really solid perfomance and great value from 13600K. This chip really surprised with how well it performs all around.Although since prices on Zen4 CPUs dropped by an insane amount then maybe 7700X for $20 - $30 more may be a good buy. I know X670 mobos are expensive though and obviously AM5 does not support DDR5. If you're looking to pair your old DDR4 kit with a new platform then you can't go wrong with Rocket Lake CPUs. Although I thought DDR5 was worth getting at this point of time. It has matured by now and prices are VERY reasonable now. I have G.Skill Trident Z5 CL36 6000mhz and it's been very stable (even both XMP profiles work). In the end I very much recommend 13600K but you can't go wrong with 7700X at the same for similar price. It's great to see a fierce battle between Intel and AMD. It's great for us consumers. We get solid performance bump from previous gen CPUs and at the same time prices are reasonable.
This is about as good as it gets for price to performance. Best choice in the 13th gen lineup for gamers and productivity folks who don't need to spend the extra coin to only get small % improvements. Upgraded from a 9700k and the 13600k blows it out of the water. I have P/E cores overclocked and undervolted to 5.4Ghz/4.2Ghz and it uses less voltage and overall power than stock settings (5.1Ghz/3.9Ghz). So much more headroom than that if you have better cooling, too. Highly recommend!
The 13600K hits the price/performance sweet spot for Intel processors at the moment. You could spend more, but unless you just feel the urge or have some specific need, you don't have to. Power usage is very low unless you're doing something that needs more power, and then it'll ramp itself up to 5.1ghz, and it'll stay reasonably cool with just a good air cooler (I'm using the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition, and it is very quiet). When you're running on just the E cores at low speeds, the fan doesn't even run.
I thought my i7-6700k was holding on “ok”. I was wrong: this i5 leaves the 6700 in the dust! If you’re thinking about upgrading from something like that or older just do it. This is great value, all the benchmark/review sites show this i5 is 95% as good as the i9 but at half the price. Great bang for buck, welcome back intel/amd competition!Speaking of…. Still waiting for GPU prices to reach earth. So while paired with my GTX 1070 I’m getting 90-120fps in COD:mwII at 1440p and medium/high settings, average of only 25% CPU utilization! So this really is all you need, save money, buy the i5, put it into a better gpu.For content creators: I am a hobby photographer and regularly edit 24MP raw images. My i7-6700k had noticeable lag doing pretty much anything with those: opening, filtering, etc. This i5 does those operations without blinking. Everything is instant. I don’t video edit, so no comment there. So overall: for gamers and/or photographers: this i5 is an amazing value and you will not be disappointed.
Highly recommend this brand new processor for the price. Was looking at this or the new Ryzen 5 7600x. At the time both were $300 and this blows the Ryzen out of the water. At the time of this review the Ryzen is now $250 and the Intel i5 13600k is still $300. Highly recommend this Intel processor but both are good choices. Nice upgrade from my old Intel core i3. I’m running this for gaming at 1440p with a 3060 and get great fps and low temps.
This thing simply smokes tires right out of the box. one lap of Cinebench R23 comes in over 22790, then the intel default power limiting kicks in and reduces performance to keep temps down. Overclocked my DDR5 5600 pretty easily to 6000 with only the slightest bump on the SA voltage. Even a six heatpipe air cooler can't hold the peak core andpackage temps much under 88-90*C when rendering / stress testing, so, plan accordingly if you want to raise the power limits much! That being said, gaming temperatures are quite reasonable.
