Joico Color Intensity - Semi-Permanent 118ml Clear

I have naturally dark, coarse and thick hair. About once a year I get my hair bleached and professionally died either in peekaboo streaks, ombré or balayage. Most salons that I’ve been to use Joico Color Intensity for its more vibrant “punky” colours and I get the Indigo mixed with amethyst and or orchid and or cobalt blue. Then I purchase these for myself, and touch up the dye every couple of months. First of all the colours are super vibrant with great staying power. The smell is fine and the texture is like a creme conditioner. I always apply with gloves too, but I find it easy to clean off porcelain (sink, shower/tub) compared to other brands like Manic Panic. I’ve used both magenta indigo, this review is selected for magenta but I will also include my thoughts on the indigo photos for both. MAGENTA: It will come out a bit more on the red side initially, but after a wash or two it starts to die down to a deep hot pink. It is a truly beautiful color, but I will say it transfers A LOT. Be prepared to have it get on sheets, light colored shirts, even the walls if your bed is close to them. That also starts to calm down after a few washes is just a reality for a lot of unnatural colors. For me, the dye stuck to my hair for months I mean it. I had a good at least 4 month run washing my hair about once a week before I really felt like I needed to dye it again. I really feel like it’s a solid representation of Indigo — not too purple or blue in hue. It has much less transfer than the magenta which I loved it stuck very well. The two indigo photos attached are from a month apart so it definitely didn’t have as much staying power as the link but it did fade beautifully.

I absolutely love this product! It is thick but saturates the hair perfectly and easily. I find that this color line lasts much longer than Pravana, Matrix, Pulp Riot fantasy colors. For this look i used (from root to ends) Passion Berry, Hot Pink, Light Purple, Periwink. As you can see the purple kind of bled into the periwink on the ends after rinsing. For the most part I have found that these colors usually don’t bleed like that, but it is what it is. I did use very cold water to rinse and it still bled a bit on the ends, but her ends were very porous, so keep that in mind when rinsing. Other than that, I would recommend this color line over all others for its longevity and easy application!

Wait 20-40 mins adding heat for vibrancy and longevity. Use a sealant to help the cuticles and reduce damage? Jeez still not long enough. I'm about to start typing the abc's here. Lol And the orange. OMG! THIS COLOR IS AMAZING! When I first bought it I was spectacle about the color as it came out to a dark blue green color and I wanted a dark green color like the color on the bottle.. After I opening it, right away it smells so good! I have thick medium hair and half of the bottle did it for me but buy an extra one just in case! Its affordable! It ranges from $10-$16 in Chatters hair salon and shop. Once you put it in your hair from bottle or using a bowl/brush (which is what I recommend) it goes on really well, very conditioning! Once you've done applying and whether you are wearing gloves or not. LOVE LOVE LOVE the color!

I dye my natural hair (medium brown) and I get so many compliments on the color. I have been using this exact color for at least 5 years! I dye my hair about once a month with this and/or use a color depositing shampoo OR mix some of this into my regular conditioner to keep my hair vibrant in between dyes. I’ve included a picture of my hair in the sun and shade for a reference of what it looks like in both.

I love this color..I've been using for about 5 years ,covers all my gray hair..I have normally black hair ..when black wouldnt take I started using this .Bleeds some during second wash but the color stays well for a few weeks. still purple, just not as vibrant. Tried manic panic and a few others ,Doesn't even compare in staying power or vibrancy.Conditions my hair every time I use it.. A really beautiful color and I get compliments every time I'm out..my grandbabies call me purple Nana Lol. ..priced just right, thinking about trying the Muve Armor next.
