The quality of Kreg tools is very good. They seem well built and easy to use. The Accu-cut works really well. Set-up was easy to follow and once complete, does not have to be repeated. It’s a big improvement over my old clap-on straight edge.The Jig-mini provides a nice finished pocket. Careful clamping is a must. I would spend a bit more and get the pocket hole jig 320.

Purchased this after building quite a few different pieces with the larger pocket hole jig 720 and the drill bit broke after much use. The drill bits are universal between the systems, and for a few dollars more, it gave the option to have a smaller jig as well. I have used the smaller jig a few times, and it works, but it can sift easily. In a pinch it is good, but I prefer the larger setup that holds the boards more securely.

Tried once; bought for wood so need to overlap the edge by (according to the instructions online, not supplied). Drilled a beautiful pocket hole, although the built-in metal guide supports only 8mm bits, whereas 6mm would have been more appropriate This will work much better with timber. No guide marks or fences; external clamp required. Clamp flush for timber, or move by for or 1 wood thickness (to centre the hole in the end grain). This will make my work much easier+neater.
Well the unit works and it works well. The only drawback is that it demands precision set up to get precision results. For example if you do not drill completely straight because you set the jig up just slightly off perfectly square your joint will shift. the greater the deviation from square the greater the worse the pull will be. However if you can set it up exactly as the instructions say you will get outstanding results and a joint that will shock you as to its strength. Only 4 stars because of it not being fool proof. If you want it to be a great joint without the difficulties in set up, get the big Kreg system. It is more money but you will get exact results each time at several times the speed.
