These are great and seem a little smoother than the normal plated screws. I am considering going to these in place of the plated even when the rust protection is not required. I kind of wish they made them on fine thread for hardwood. I have been working with some Purple Heart recently and it is tough on everything!

They were perfect for the project I completed. I used them in an unconventional way. I used them with my jig to repair the rotted bottoms of an exterior door. I used them to butt join the old and new replacement pieces. The joints are tight and practically invisible.

I purchased these screws to be used outside on my deck. Although they have only been outside in the weather for a week, so I can't really say how they will hold up. I was very pleased that the coating on the screws did not fail in any way during any of the installation process. I would expect that based upon that experience, I believe that the screws will hold up just as I hoped.
I just finished a project with tight access and awkward angles where I needed to start the screw with a short Kreg bit and then switch to a longer bit to finish driving the screw all the way in. The rounded heads and square drive made it hard to get the long bit in place once the head of the screw was partway down in the pocket. Other than that, they worked fine.
Used the screws to assemble doors for a outside shed. Very easy to install. With exterior glue and the pocket screws they made strong doors.
I used these pocket hole screws to assemble a garden bridge made out of redwood. I designed the bridge utilizing the pocket hole jig. This allowed me to have zero screws visible from the standpoint of a pedestrian. They were incredibly strong and while assembling the bridge On its side my support came out holding the handrail up and to my astonishment the screws suspended the entire handrail in the air with 4 feet of leverage and two by sixes and three by threes hanging on them. The customer was thrilled and things couldn't have gone better
The screw appears to work well, but I've just built the custom planters. They haven't had the challenge of many seasons. Sadly, I likely won't even think about posting a review annually over the next 5 years. I'm glad this version of screw is available. One thing to consider is that these can more easily be over tightened. I didn't have stripping, but the pocket would bulge at the same drive force that didn't happen with other screws. Better to set the clutch to under tighten, and increase the force slowly.
Save yourself the headache and dont try and pinch a few pennies just buy the Kreg pocket hole screws. I have traveled down the penny p pinching highway and regretted it every time by less expensive screws only to have the bit not fit tightly in the screw head and slip and create some putty touch up work. And they don't have the gripping power and create those solid joint like you get with Kreg. And there is the blue-kote factor. Most other pocket hole screw are for interior use only. You always. Measure twice cut once then drill once and screw once buy the Kreg pocket hole screws.
I pieced together 1 3/4" material for the core of brackets/corbels on the eaves of my classical revival building in Portland ME. I ran out of these long screws and made a special trip for them. Even though the settings only go to 1 1/2" it worked great!
