MoreI received this product as part of the Superdrug Community for test and review purposes in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.I get ridiculously excited when a new matte lip range comes out, and I’m stoked to be testing this one by L’Oreal. The marketing from the brand states: “With a precise applicator, lip contour is effortlessly defined. Lips appear smoother. Transfer proof and smudge resistant” so I’m more than ready to test these claims out. I’ve purchased so many where they’ve been far too drying on the lip and maybe cracked, dried unevenly, or were lacking in staying power.First Impressions:I really like the solid and robust tube, which is quite plain and minimalist, but looks ϋber-stylish. On opening you can detect a slight hint of fragrance that’s hard to describe but it’s very pleasant. The applicator is a doe foot design and is slim enough for precise application and great for those of us with smaller lips.Application:It feels smooth to apply and you can neatly follow your natural lip line with the shape of this applicator and then fill in the lip area. I was surprised at how richly pigmented it is, the color payoff is amazing, especially in this darker/richer red, and I was concerned with it being such an intense shade that it may bleed or feather over time. It takes a minute or two to set before you get the matte finish.Wear test:I tested the lipstick over a couple of days, and during that time I eat and drank and found it to be transfer-proof and for the most part doesn’t budge. I noticed no feathering or bleeding once it had dried either. It felt lightweight and not ‘masky’, and it slowly faded quite evenly with no patchiness even though I’d not scrubbed or prepped lips with a balm of any kind beforehand. At the end of the day, it was easy to remove with my usual micellar water cleanser which easily removed all traces and it didn’t stain the lips as some resistant/long-wear formulas can.Overall thoughts:I’m very impressed with this lipstick's performance. It definitely lived up to L’Oreal’s marketing claims and I’ve nothing negative to report. If you want a matte lipstick withan intense color payoff that’s a breeze to apply, and stays put and is available in a fantastic array of 12 shades (10 at Superdrug), look no further! This particular shade (420 - Le Rouge Paris) is an intense, deep, cherry red that would suit all skin tones and hair colours, and it’s a glorious shade for a statement pop of colour all year ‘round, with minimal eye make-up, just lashings of your favourite mascara like the french girls do! Its claims for precision and effort are accurate. The shape of the wand made it easy to follow the natural shape of my lips. Outlining the lips with one smooth stroke. The colour is very pigmented. You get an instant pop of colour.💄 The liquid lipstick dries down after about a minute or so, leaving a beautiful matte finish. The intensity of the colour locks in as it dries down. There is no fragrance to the lipstick either. The pointed tip of the wand gives you great control on application.💄 However, i found that it does transfer and smudge. If you do not let it dry fully or purse you lips it will leave patchy spots on the lips which then need filling in. It also doesn't leave a completely smooth finish and looks slightly dry.💄 Overall, this is a great lipstick, it lasts a good few hours and needs a refresh as it can look slightly dry. It has a slightly sticky texture too and again this is noticeable if you do not let it dry fully. I love the matte finish as it means this can be worn in the daytime too despite how bright the shade is. I would wear this on a night out and it is the perfect colour for the summer season. It is a compact liquid lipstick that will fit in to your bag or pocket so when you need to refresh it, it's travel friendly. You can achieve an intense colour in a single coat or build up on the intensity with several coats. However, personally for me I found a single coat was impactful and intense enough. Just make sure to allow this lipstick to dry fully or you will end up with patchy lipstick. I would also recommend using a lip scrub prior to application for a smooth, non-cakey finish. I absolutely love this colour and it makes me feel young. A lovely vibrant colour, suitable for any age or occasion👄

Not a trance visible! I have worn the lipstick while eating & drinking throughout the day & night and it's not budged or smudged and lasted between 4-6 hours without needing to worry about reapplying.Packaging:The lipstick formula comes packaged in a sleek plastic tube container in the same shade of red as the lipstick and as a silver band at the neck of the tube with a black print reading L'Oréal Paris, it has a screw cap to secure it and attached to the inside of the cap is the precise applicator.Overall opinion:I will continue to use this lipstick and will be purchasing more shades from the collection, very pleased with the results and would definitely recommend if your looking for a long-wearing lipstick that doesn't fail.Cons:Only one down side as I mentioned it did feel a little dry and I had to apply a gloss but was to be expected and worth what the lipstick offers.•Size 5ml•Longwear•Smudge-proof•Transfer-Resistant•Intense Colour•24M

But of course it completely ruined the velvety texture and because that was my rookie mistake, I have learned ever since.The Product itself : I have extremely dry, chapped lips. And i usually go for glossed lips as matte doesn’t sit well with me, irrespective of how much I crave it. As a result I have always placed safe and stuck to lip tints followed by balm or a gloss. So when I was given the chance to try it, I grabbed it with me both hands. And I a really thankful that I did. This has become my new favourite and I would most certainly go for a refill when the time comes. The product has below highlights -* Beautiful pigment* Liquid lipstick with powder like finish* Silky-velvety texture* Long lasting (need to retouch after dining)I am very happy with this new product from L’Oréal. I bought my first ever lipstick from this brand and it’s only fitting that it helps me try other textures without drying formulas. Would certainly recommend this product.
