La Mer The Treatment Lotion For Unisex 5oz

I've tried over a dozen La Mer products over the years, some great (Hand Crème Lip Balm) and some not so great (The Crème itself). The Treatment Lotion is probably the first LM product that I just don't quite know what to make of! It's got the same distinctive La Mer fragrance and a list of ingredients (including, of course, the Miracle broth) as long as my arm. The texture is a viscous water, like glycerin and water mixed together, it's quite hydrating even used on its own, but it really doesn't seem to serve any purpose if you already use one of their moisturizers, unless you need an extra boost of moisture. If, however you have oily skin like I do and don't require much in the way of hydration, this can work as a stand alone hydrator. One thing you definitely DON'T want to do is 'saturate a cotton pad' as instructed, and then apply to face, because that would just be a blatant waste of product and nothing other than a way to get you to use this up faster! This makes my skin glow from the inside out. I usually use this after exfoliating so that it absorbs deeper into my skin. I have really red skin due to rosacea, and this lotion is one of the few products I’ve tried that calms my skin enough to not appear red and irritated. It gives me nice dewey looking skin that’s not overly shiny. Like a glow from the inside out. This stuff is magic in a bottle. And the price is definitely up there, and I would usually take a star off, but I can’t do that with this product. It’s nice that they sell smaller sizes so that more people are able to try it, but if you have redness problems like me, it’s worth it in my opinion to buy less products that work well for your skin instead of buying a ton of different products that end up ... MoreThis makes my skin glow from the inside out. I had a small travel size of this product to try. A little goes a long way and even when used twice a day I was able to stretch the bottle for just about two weeks. I did not change anything else in my skin care routine just to see some results. Well, I did not see any. Although it says treatment lotion it is and behaves like an essence and I’ve tried multiple essences by now. The fragrance in this is definitely noticeable and although I don’t mind a good smelling skin care this missed the mark. This didn’t help with anything I can think of - pores, fine lines, brightness. Sure it did give my skin some extra hydration but c’mon, it is La Mer! For $180! I do have recommendations for other products which are cheaper and way more effective. I received this deluxe sample with an order (Neiman Marcus maybe), and the La Mer Soft Cream utterly changed my life so I was excited to see if this Lotion would do anything. And it actually did! Since using this, my skin texture and elasticity has greatly improved, and even the redness has faded a bit more. Now, the Soft Cream improved my skin a TON; and over the 2 years of using it, the results finally plateaued, so it had achieved all it was going to. And it achieved a LOT. I say this because, after I started using this Treatment Lotion, I started to see more improvements to my skin again. This wears great under makeup, and actually helps my makeup look better.

I was thrilled to find this treatment lotion in a smaller size to sample - I’ve long wanted to try La Mer to see how it compares to my favorite Kbeauty toners. As a toner “addict” (I own over a hundred, believe it or not), I have tried many different kinds, & this does rate in the top tier. Here’s why:Despite the watery texture, this provides a deep hydration that’s more comparable to a thicker essence or serum. I normally follow the Korean 7-skin method, patting in 7 layers of toner right after each other, but using this, I only needed 2 layers to achieve the same level of hydration & plumpness I normally get from 7 layers of hydrating toner. I love that it contains algae & other marine extracts, which are so good for the skin.Would I repurchase? While it is certainly nice to look at, it is heavy and makes the usage very impractical in case of ease of slipping and being shattered into millions of pieces on the bathroom floor. Not to mention carrying it along when travelling.Another comment to the packaging team, the closure (at this price range) should have been paid closer attention to and chosen a more subtle one, rather like the previous packaging had or even better, as the original Estee Lauder Micro Essence closure was formed by the glass itself. (It would have obviously been more expensive, however, this is supposed to be a luxury item!)

My favorite essence/treatment lotion of all time

I'm an essence junkie thanks to this product and to K-Beauty. I enjoy layering multiple essences over my face and Décolleté at the beginning of my skincare regimen. I use wonderful products but I ALWAYS save the best for last, and that is La Mer's Treatment Lotion. It's like heaven in a bottle. Hydrating, soothing, smells fantastic but isn't overpowering. My skin loves this stuff. I'll never let myself run out of this stuff ever! Please never stop making it!

Plump and absorbent, cannot live without

Got a sample of this a while back and noticed that whenever I put it on, my skin seemed happier, plump and hydrated and my makeup and other skincare seemed to lay and absorb better. I gave in and bought a bottle, and now I’m hooked. My pores appear smaller, skin appears smoother, healthier, younger, anything else I put on over this absorbs better and therefore works as it’s supposed to, my makeup looks flawless and my no makeup days are also flawless. I didn’t want to love it because of how expensive it is, but it’s a little indulgence I’ll give to my skin from now on. Time will tell how long the 5 oz bottle lasts me but I pour about 3-4 drops twice a day. Light scent, not sticky, not oily or greasy, perfect on my oily/combo skin in cold and extreme heat. I love this!

Think of this as a essence toner, the first product that goes onto the skin after cleansing and exfoliating (personally, I don't use toners) that floods skin with plumping hydration to prep your skin for on coming products. A shake or two into the palm of the hands, press into skin, neck and chest for instant plump, supple and dewy skin or layer it multiple times in the same way for a total glass skin effect. It has a perfect texture, more viscous than water that allows slip to massage into skin but instantly absorbed leaving the skin feeling like silk, I also find because your skin has something on it rather than just being freshly cleansed, other products such as serums and moisturisers go even further as less product is ... MoreI absolutely love The Treatment Lotion. The packing is very heavy and well made adding to a luxurious experience and looks beautiful on one's vanity of beauty cabinet with its striking signature La Mer green colour and its metallic cap. Theres not much more else to add in this review, you will surely love it.
